Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Hola querido lector, lectora.
I don't think anyone except Germans uses this English saying. It basically means “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it“. And I think that is complete bullshit in todays dynamic world. Sticking to established methods without seeking improvements is not neutral, it is destructive. But too many people think like that,…
2/n 1/n is published - finally - but it wasn't simple. I mean the actions were, but the actions didn't lead to a published post. Eventually I logged out and logged in again ... and voila! (Yes I changed the URL of my site - I wonder if that affected things?)
Most schools, at least the kind I went to too, are pointless and do more harm than good. People spend about 15 years of their life in schools. During this period, I feel they loose creativity and curiosity. They are taught to compete with peers and learn that failing is a bad thing. They are taught things which are…
I struggle to understand my emotions. My calibration ranges from sad, happy, hurt and angry.Beyond this I go "Idk it felt weird/not nice". An incident is making me ponder over this incapability and its real meaning. Context:I'm not close with my relatives.I don't share, ask about their lives, don't call, dont spend time…
Sometimes when I look at something that I have written, I can't believe I thought of these words. These words, they just come to me. I have to put pen on paper and give it form. I feel like a messenger at times. The universe or some cosmic force whispering to me. Sometimes these words don't feel like mine. I never…
June 26, 2013. Jerry Seinfeld sits for an interview with Howard Stern. Stern asks about his routine - how Jerry constantly observes, constantly hunts for material, constantly thinks about comedy. Jerry gave an answer. Fuming with surprise, Howard Stern was like - "That's being at work 24 hours a day," Stern says.…
(original: 15 January 2006) part of series while moving from san diego to the sf bay area ... GARAGE SALE FUN ... Yesterday (Saturday), our little compound had a garage sale - which was preceded by the garage clean out on Friday. Matt, Garry, Scud (an awesome bassador) and I sifted through "lots o' stuff". (picture -…
Ever found your self doing something out of habit without you ever noticing? The (not so) humble android OS was designed to run on any device - from simple toasters to sophisticated devices having more computational capacity than the rocket that landed us on the moon. Part of this robustness is due to the multi…
i just did a yoga session https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2D1WYgUeuM i thought about karl the whole time. who is karl? karl is a white haired old man we met at a port in greece everyone was freaking out!! because a flotilla came and dragged everyone's anchor karl was cool as a motherfucker. he stood there pitying…
The same scary thought haunts me It could be the brightest day or the coldest dark night The same thought haunts me It's something I've lived with for years It pops up in my dreams, my daydreams It creeps up on me when I least expect it The same thought haunts me "Why me?" We all have our own version of "why me?" Yet…
How often in my life I have not taken the time to process my feelings. I know how to work hard and achieve success but I forget to celebrate with a period of rest and restoration. How many times in my life I have ran from one thing to the next without fully absorbing the monumental endeavors that I have achieved. The…
Dancei. Derreti. Tomei cerveja bem gelada. As luzes estavam bonitas,…
Falar em voz alta. Hoje eu cheguei 7 minutos atrasada na minha terapia. Esqueci.
today is sunday and the air has a quiet and restful quality and i have decided to go with the energy and do whatever i want to do, wander with my mind. and youtube is recommending me videos with 43 likes by people with 2.23k followers [i'm talking about the channel tokyochemist; she talks about books] and i am so…
everyone reading ottessa moshfegh makes me want to read MORE ottessa moshfegh to know exactly what i hate about her i read a bit of "homesick for another world" but did not like it i felt it was pointlessly pointless. pointlessness should be enjoyed the way that you enjoy doing nothing on a beautiful sicilian sunday…
I think some way or other people are connected. they always stay connected maybe not physically maybe not socially and even not mentally but you just have the instinct in you that you miss this person but somehow you have this gut feeling of what they have been doing or if something serious takes place in their life.…
When reading a blog article by Alex West, I stumbled upon this paragraph: "You may be the hero of your own movie, but in everyone else's you are nothing but an extra. You appear and flash on their screen for an instant, and then you're gone forever. No one cares about you. And that thought is liberating. It allows you…
I think the hardest thing I’ve had to do is to decide who to be as a creator. Helping others explore and develop their creativity felt much easier than developing my own. There is such joy in standing with another creative and helping them t o aim their creative arrows toward their desired target.…
Do incrível Café Palhares, onde…
Live every moment bits of it Do not miss Not through the phone Live through everything Be young & fun & experiencing Do what you want to do by actually doing not “avoiding” on phone Be fun - AND ENERGETIC! Only difference between the young soul and the old soul is the energy levels
I googled synonyms for happiness because I didn't want to sound cliché but all of them sounded too pretentious. Lol. This is just a personal take on the feeling that everyone is so bent on finding. I’d read headlines off of newspapers and magazines that told me stories of people and the lives they lived. To me at that…
Oh Hi! This seems so cool! 🤩 I love it, simple and clean. Oh it counts words not letters. Means,ifIdon’tUseSpace,itCountsJustOneWordLOL(thisIsStill1word!HaHa). Very interesting. I love this font, it makes me feel like I’m coding 😂
Its strange why my articlulation of ideas/feedback has not been upto the mark - despite spending time with clear thinkers. Second order thinking also tends to be a pain in the ass - a number of the decisions that I take spread ripple effects that I need to be vary of. Along with one & two, crisp writing especially in…
“Women are so keenly aware of the male experience because our entire existence had to be kind of through that lens. Whereas men have never had to understand the female experience in order to exist in the world.” Here the comedian Sarah Silverman sums up a feeling at the root of so much of our hatred for outsiders.…
i've started many projects over the last two years. but guess how many i've completed? zero. that got me thinking, why is it tough to stick to things that i like? what is stopping me from having fun? why am i expecting something in return, when i just wanna build cool shit? i guess part of the reason is, i need…
that notices the return of the swallows, or is worried when they're late.
At least when it comes to new forms of social media. Kinda crazy that there are still less than 2000 accounts on this site right now. I guess we will see if it lasts. I'll try to give some random updates from time to time.
Our world is shaped by shared myths What is a shared myth anyway? Shared myths are things which has zero or near zero intrinsic value by itself. Its value is provided by the people believing in them. They lose their value if everyone stops believing Most people do things for Pleasure,Money & Religion Money does not have…
i've been talking to a newish friend a lot lately and i am getting oversaturated with him! SATT. gnuag g'ha he is great in some ways; tenacity of spirit, willingness to try, writes great music but my god i know other people with spirit, willingness and talent and who ALSO have verbal intelligence and philosophical…
Ich hasse die Moderne Kunst. ("I Hate Modern Art") Ullstein, Frankfurt 1960. John Anthony Thwaites.
There’s a quick way to find your talent short cut. Do the actual hard work not the societal pressure (means thinking hard and giving high standards to yourself) Once you got there you’ll have so many things you can do - and you have that “do it now mentality” same as “enjoy it now not later” Do more and reap the…
In order of least to most dangerous: 1) People who are openly driven by ambition and self-interest to amass wealth and power 2) People who are secretly driven by ambition and self-interest to amass wealth and power while publicly professing noble intentions to benefit the public 3) People who actually believe they are…
Governments the world over, want to be able to exert better control over Twitter. So far their only options have been to enact laws that compel the company to shape its behavior in particular ways. But Twitter is a global company that has to abide by the laws and regulations of all the countries in which it operates.…
When I was a child I had what you would call a active imagination, I spent a lot of time alone, and this is how I would fill that loneliness. By creating scenarios and artificial worlds in my mind. I would invent friends and imagine myself in times long ago, or far in the future. Throughout my school years, I was not…
the first thing if you give it more time than it's worth. Try not to be alarmed. It will come back to you.
You know the second question we ask anyone we meet, after of course asking for their name. It is inherently understood, we are asking if they have a job and how they make a living. It's a weird way to put it no? "What do you do?". Is work the only thing that we do? Don't we all play many many roles in our lives? But…
You don’t meet “new friends” by actually meeting new international friends You gotta be interesting enough And that means not afraid to speak up to anyone Let yourself be yourself be in your skins Do whatever you do in the moment And work on things Can’t be empty headed anymore Enjoy every moment and taking everything…
In a world drowning in information, it's tempting to think we have all the answers. Search engines serve knowledge on a silver platter, and social media makes experts out of laypeople. Yet, the more we know, the more we become aware of an unsettling truth: the vast realm of the "unknown" still stretches infinitely…
Walking the streets of CBD by those towering buildings, cycling along ECP, trekking to Bukit Timah and sipping on beer at the hawker centres, I thought about you for the first time in ages. I lost you when I was 9. Ever since, subconsciously and actively, I hived away whatever few memories I had of you and pushed you…
I wake up at 6:47 AM and the first thought is: I'm not going to smoke today. The second thought, three minutes later while I'm already on the balcony with a cigarette between my fingers, is: Well, fuck. It's not like I forgot. I remember saying it yesterday—actually saying it out loud to myself while brushing my…
It's been 12 days since my last writing exercise and it hasn't been time misspent. I and the wife went down to Jamaica to the South Coast Sandals resort which was all inclusive and absolutely awesome. Lots of night time eating, sushi all day, and i even learned to sail. I was really sad to see the state of affairs in…
1. my morning walk on the street curved along the beach 2. books. im currently reading "muhammad" (a historical biography; i'm trying to read a historical biography of the "founders" or figureheads of every major religion...so far i've read about jesus and there was not much information to satisfy but this specific…
I'm trying to write publicly at the same time authentically At the same time, without the performance pressure of likes, comments, RTs. Seems cool. Seems entertaining. Seems a good cathartic experience. I'm always in search of niching down. Hopefully this one would prove otherwise. I don't have to niche down. I can…
"What do you think about the Rolex Daytona?", asked my friend. "It's great but I am an Omega person", I replied. "The model in the new 007 movie is truly a piece of art". "It sure is. What do you think about the grey Tom Ford suit Daniel Craig wore in the movie?", I asked. "I think the blue one was better. You should…
I’ve only got 300 words, so i don’t feel overwhelmed with the need for making something long and extravagant. I’m just not there yet. And odds are this won’t get read much. I’m going to try to explain who i am in the 240 words i have left. “A brief summary of a human with no real passions or respectable ambitions.” I…
Improvements in the human condition are easier to create and measure when times are tough. Starving? Eat. Thirsty? Drink. Homeless? Find shelter or build a home if you can afford it (if you're in Goa, good luck). --- In times of abundance though, things get slightly tricky. How do you measure if your life is good when…
