Shared myths are things which has zero or near zero intrinsic value by itself.Its value is provided by the people believing in them.They lose their value if everyone stops believing
Most people do things for Pleasure,Money & Religion
Money does not have any intrisic value,An central bank can nullify the value in a second because people belief provides value to money and people do so because of thier faith in central bank.
Religion does not have any intrinsic value,We give power to it by believing in them.If people en masse moved to a new religion,the old religion will lose its value & relavance
Most of our desires through which we derive pleasure are mimetic desires (We desire them because other people also desire them especially those we admire)
Even the metaverse does not have intrinsic value but it can have a huge value if enough people believe in them just like religion & money
