ambition

In order of least to most dangerous:

1. People who are openly driven by ambition and self-interest to amass wealth and power

2. People who are secretly driven by ambition and self-interest to amass wealth and power while publicly professing noble intentions to benefit the public

3. People who actually believe they are motivated by noble intentions to benefit the public who go on to amass wealth and power by convincing others of their superior moral worth

Only last type is utterly incapable to see himself as anything more than a comic book superhero, even while he is standing trial under accusation of fraud, embezzlement, and corruption.
