khayali pulav
"What do you think about the Rolex Daytona?", asked my friend.
"It's great but I am an Omega person", I replied.
"The model in the new 007 movie is truly a piece of art".
"It sure is. What do you think about the grey Tom Ford suit Daniel Craig wore in the movie?", I asked.
"I think the blue one was better. You should check out the summer collection Prada has come out with, you will forget about Tom Ford".
"I will. Even Dolce and Gabbana has done a terrific job with their collecti......".
A sudden jerk put our conversation to a stop. The puny driver outdid himself by pulling the brakes a tad too hard and we saw a swarm of people enter the already-packed bus. I was on my toes, both my hands entangled with the bars attached to the nearly dilapidated ceiling. The seats were in worse condition. It was safer to stand. With another jerk, the bus set off and the conductor came towards us.
"Uncle two tickets for College Road", I said.
"Forty-eight.", he coarsely replied.
I handed him a note of fifty. He gave me the balance of two rupees and the tickets. I put them safely in my empty wallet.
Neither of us spoke till our stop arrived. The khayali pulav had been cooked to perfection.
