Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
a digital world may enable us to have a continuous performance that has no defined start or finish. it exists like a dream. each person would experience a different beginning as they enter. this threshold is your start yet we can extrude this threshold to how you enter the performance space. a loading screen? a social…
Okay, it's 2022 and i'm 45 y/o and i still don't know what i want to do with my life. I wonder if surviving and not to be a burden is good enough goals.
I first learned the word blasphemy in sixth grade, when I carried a laptop of one brand in a case embroidered with the logo of another. "Isn't that blasphemy?" a teacher joked. I asked him what that meant. I don't remember the exact explanation, but I do remember his tone being flippant. Blasphemy is one of those…
If my manager read a page of my code contributions in the last month, it would either mean nothing to him or he would draw the wrong conclusions. Adding code doesn't make one a valuable contributor. It just means you're a contributor. The hubris of thinking that managers (or CEO's...😂) can discern anything of value…
16g of coffee ground at a setting of 1/30. 240g of water heated to 95 degrees. Bloom the coffee with 30g of water and leave it for 35 seconds. Then pour the remaining 210g of water in slow concentric circles. That's my daily routine to prepare my first cup of coffee upon waking. As long as I stick to light or medium…
Retirei-me daqui porque as coisas não andaram fáceis emocionalmente.
Today marks the end of my three-month study abroad in Cambridge. It's been a wonderful journey, filled with profound learning, unforgettable experiences, and a deep affection for the city. Initially, the thought of this chapter closing is saddening, and it's natural to feel this way. Transience often conjures feelings…
pulled the thread of despair i took to bed last night, the "why bother?" that hovered, unbidden, writing roadblock 97, the one that combines worthiness with approval, the one that questions whether anyone reads anymore, if the world needs another cooking story, the one that tells me i can't for so many reasons. pulled…
Walking through the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh today, and being surrounded by all this art, innovation, monuments, and historical achievements in one place, I was struck by the complexity and vastness of our world. Realizing just how small our individual roles really are is humbling. We can only…
One of the biggest misconceptions is that stories need to be action packed, or they'll be boring. The top 13 movies in 2021 were all action movies. The top four were superhero movies, with number one being, of course, Spider Man. There's this pervasive idea that a big movie means explosions and guns and superpowers.…
Being you is therapy to your soul heart and brain .But yes it is not easy and can be lonely most of times! But cherishing your own self your ideals your perspectives of life can be so soothing ! Stop chasing to be like someone who you don’t want to be like . Be YOu & your brain can rest in your skull taxfree
"Stephen Wolfram proposed to let people choose their own Algorithm: the social platforms could still host your data and provide the interface, but the way the data is aggregated, sorted, and displayed to you would be customized by pluggable algorithms. If any entity were allowed to create and share an algorithm, they…
ahhhhhhhhhhhh i really enjoy going back to old lectures from creators and designers who i consider mentors. when time becomes slow, it is be best opportunity to listen and revise notes. because with time our memory of past content fades...
Ever heard this saying, “God helps those who help themselves”? I don’t know who came up with this but it is not in the bible. If everyone can help themselves, they won’t seek God.
Encontrei com a minha irmã no último domingo.
I love synthesizers. I own a couple of vintage ones, and other bits of vintage audio gear. There's something very interesting about how they look and how they are designed, they're like a little time capsule of a bygone era, fascinating for a wide number of reasons. But it's also true that electronic bits of kit tend…
Can people be captivated by unknown personalities solely by the way they write or will they be motivated primarily by subjects or interests. My main gripe with normal blogging is that I have a very diverse set of interests. I work in IT, I do photography, work on old motorcycles and spend a lot of time working out.…
During Culturati's on-line January 13, 2025 "Preview of Conflict to Connection", Rajkumari Neogy was featured - https://youtu.be/VZaS5UiOmU?si=P5aMj5yJ1Q3YGiuu (recording). During the Q&A, I was reminded of a friend's pursuit of discrimination in his workspace thus posing the question. Because of the No FEAR Act, in…
Oh my god! This was another key insight that I was missing my entire life. I have at various times considered myself a dark, brooding loner, a deep man of mystery, or too wounded to let someone in to my world. Introvertive Anhedonia makes a better case for an explanation of my relationship issues. The short definition…
Two weeks ago I turned 24. I’ve been using this time to try and figure it out what to do with my life. I feel lost and with no clear purpose right now, but at the same time I know that I got to take advantage of my age and try a lot of different things to find out what to do. I don’t know where to start but I’m…
1. how far do we have to go? 2. are trees ticklish? 3. why didn't i say hi? 4. how to find a job that i love 5. can i go back? 6. what do earthquakes feel like? 7. what does heartbreak feel like? 8. how to keep breathing 9. how to care more 10. where do i find it?
Of course it's been pointed out with increasing frequency of late, but I believe it bears repeating. This addiction to seeking out the comfort of the likeminded to the exclusivity of all others and recoiling from the sheer audacity of differently-minded people to exist cannot possibly lead to anything good in the long…
• DO WHAT YOU CAN. As long as you start momentum habits. • Principles are the same. You just had to apply. • Listen to your parents but don’t take advice from poor people. Instead, join and attract yourself to the rich. • Be clear in your mind - means doing hard work for the easiest tasks so that you don’t have…
We were never taught how to be angry. Wrath was the province of God, and occasionally that of fathers offered insult. That, I think, is how I never noticed it seeping in at slights and kicks until it had long curdled in my marrow.
A trivial pursuit. Do you know why? Because it doesn't matter. Dates, names, elements, places, books, movies. They don't really matter. What matters are the ideas, trends, actions, systems that they create and perpetuate. It doesn't matter what the leader's name is, what matters is what they did and why. It doesn't…
Don't know if one more writing and social media platform, which says it is not a social media platform, is worth the effort of writing. It is like having several notebooks in blank, or many books on the shelves that were never read. The objects are there, but their functions are ignored. Maybe because our brains,…
A few weeks back, my partner (a chef in her own right) began the process of bringing to life sour dough starter. We named him Barry. Just a few days later, she had to leave and I was left alone with Barry. And well I had to learn how to take care of him, which has been a highlight of 2023 so far. Every evening, I had…
When I was a kid, when guests come home, I would be so painfully shy, to go and just lock myself in the other room. I couldn't understand why my parents were angry and upset with my behaviour, i just liked to be by myself. My son does the same thing what I was as a child, when guests come, he runs away of recedes into…
Do you lie awake at night thinking of all the bad stuff happening in your life? Everyone’s brain is wired for a negative bias. We talk about the negative more. We remember the negative first. We all go through negative experiences. Their sources come from emotions, poor decisions, and mistakes. Some of these…
the first thing if you give it more time than it's worth. Try not to be alarmed. It will come back to you.
Ahhhhhh.... the character gazes down into the water at their reflection. nothing else matters, not even the sound. it is 'heard' through one's mind. satisfaction in what they see...
Eu me…
who is the most important person? is it your spouse? is it a parent? is it your child? is it you? the truth is, none of these people should be the most important... at least not all the time the most important person needs to be the one in front of you whomever you're with, they deserve your undivided attention it…
At the end, we all die. This is not some distant, obscure fact to be filed away in the background. The fact that you will die is here, right now. This is truth. All your sought after money, status, fame, friendship, lovers, kids. It’s all meaningless in the long run. Dust in the wind. It’s okay to be sad about it. But…
ironic isn't it? the things we run from loom near like shadows, inescapable contorted and twisted into new forms sometimes even be mistaken for something new entirely no use in trying to run - instead delaying the inevitable power drawn from denial of its existence a brief respite, just enough to get by what's the…
Doesn't it feel good to check off a task, meet a goal, or get to your destination? That feeling is equal for small or large steps. For your new journaling habit, you need to start small. A small start means it's doable, less intimidating. It takes less time and fits into your schedule. You still see results. When…
When I started weight training about 15 years ago, I was rather intrigued by some of the folks in the gym who wore all sorts of contraptions. From wrist and knee bands. Head bands, gloves and then a belt around the waist. It was quite fascinating that the exercise wearable market had evolved to a point where the body…
today should be a good day if we would be a could be.
the most normal taste i have is in music. i'm really into the 1975 right now, but specifically 3 songs: - about you - robber - all i need to hear ("somebody else" is great too but it doesn't fit the vibe of those three songs i just listed that i feel is the best aspect of the band; i basically want to feel like i'm…
Do what is right for your mental energy - preserve it. It’s what they called dopamine or shit like that - why you used to “addicted” to mindless social media and scrolling. It’s like how you are behaving yesterday when you got home and just scroll on entertainment. Subconsciously your mind and body tells you that you…
What’s more intimidating for a writer than a staring contest with the invisible question mark on a blank page? Not much. A simple solution is to prep the page. I start with to prepping the environment as well. Here are the seven steps I take at the end of the day: I place my journal and pen where I plan to journal in…
In 2000 Portugal had a massive drug problem. 1% of the population was addicted to heroin. They'd been trying to solve the problem the American way. Put people in jail. Shame and ostracize drug users. Every year the problem got worse. Eventually it got so bad that the prime minister and the leader of the opposition…
(The following is a RP entry from the perspective of my Project Zomboid character, again) I'm a bit scared right now to be honest. Today I was doing the usual looting and found a police station; Jackpot! I thought... and indeed I won the lottery of guns, after clearing 2 floors of zombies I got to the lockers and…
i'm looking for something i realized that i write to solve my problems and find clarity but since my problem is quite large now, i'm gathering much concentration and this is all i think about. i've been asking all my friends. i'm trying to solve something that no one has ever solved. but if the answer is out there,…
For the last month or so, I have been sitting on coding up a weekend project to launch for my next "startup" or web app. Whatever it is. I have been procrastinating, again. The idea is simple. It's a read-only portal for all of my wallets. Google Pay, Venmo, Paypal, Cash App, Strike, and many more. I took my kids to…
I'm unconvinced astrological signs mean anything, but I think the time of year that you're born does have an impact on your life. Children born around holidays get different levels of attention than kids born nowhere near holidays. They could get less because everyone is paying attention to the holiday, maybe more if…
