Weight training belt
When I started weight training about 15 years ago, I was rather intrigued by some of the folks in the gym who wore all sorts of contraptions. From wrist and knee bands. Head bands, gloves and then a belt around the waist. It was quite fascinating that the exercise wearable market had evolved to a point where the body was able to get external support in an effort to get stronger.
I got my first personal exercise belt about two years ago. The apartment gym equipment was not the best and my trainer believed it made sense to wear that, specially for the slightly heavier lifts.
Two years in, I find myself chuckling with glee every time I wear the belt for a deadlift or a squat. I definitely have a modicum of super power envelope me and physically feel stronger by just wearing it!
Rather unusual experience, but the way it nips at my waist and holds my spine in a straight and steady state is in itself quite a super power!
Reminds me of when my son was six years old and the highlight of his day was wearing one of his Superman or Spiderman costumes and running all across the house. He continued to do the same when we visited Disney World in Paris that year and he explained to me, as innocently as a six year old can that ''Mumma, when I wear the costume, I become Superman!''
That's pretty much my state of mind then, when I wear the weight training belt! I strut into the gym, take out the belt from my bag, cinch it around my waist, take a peak in the mirror and proceed to lift heavy and honestly, I really do feel like Super Woman at the time!
