Journaling provides a strategy to release a negative mindset, making room for a positive mindset.
Do you lie awake at night thinking of all the bad stuff happening in your life?
Everyone’s brain is wired for a negative bias. We talk about the negative more. We remember the negative first.
We all go through negative experiences. Their sources come from emotions, poor decisions, and mistakes. Some of these experiences we control, others we do not. All negative experiences have an adverse effect on us.
Your negative bias keeps you from moving forward.
Journaling is your key to moving from a negative mindset to a positive mindset.
This journaling strategy controls your negative bias.
Write about the negative. Yes, relive it. Your journal is your best friend. Get it all out. You will feel much better.
Read the negative you wrote in your journal.
Ask yourself two questions:
What elements of my experiences do I not control? If you can’t control an element of an experience, there is no action to take. Get it out of your system through journaling and move on.
What elements of my experiences do I control? If you can control an element, use journaling to plan and prioritize the actions needed to move forward.
Journaling gets you out of a stagnant, negative mindset and into an active, positive mindset.
Now it's time to get busy on your prioritized action steps to move forward.
