The person or the subject
Can people be captivated by unknown personalities solely by the way they write or will they be motivated primarily by subjects or interests.
My main gripe with normal blogging is that I have a very diverse set of interests. I work in IT, I do photography, work on old motorcycles and spend a lot of time working out.
Should I start 4 different blogs? Write only about one or two of the subjects? Or just have them converge and spill out in the randomized way they fill my mind?
It has been said that one of the traits that characterize great writers, is their ability to write interestingly about any subject.
But what about us amateur writers? Will people follow writers that they perhaps only share 1 or 2 interests with?
This platform is a great way to find out. Of course there can be great writers that focus on a single subject and then just write small pieces of information or thoughts about that subject. But for me, the great alure of this short format is that I can write pieces about anything.
The interesting aspect is then whether people will read it. Although likes and follows are private, they still matter to the writer. If no one reads it, then why use the platform instead of just writing in a document on your own machine?
