Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
just because you're entitled to an opinion, doesn't mean you're required to get one. and just because you relinquish your right to an opinion, doesn't mean you're an idiot. the brain cells required to keep up with that shit can be spent elsewhere, if you so wish it's called the freedom of thought. when i hang out with…
- Not a second brain - Not a full-blown PK - Not even a draft space for articles It's a place for mindful consumption, storage and meaning making. The system is inspired by Justin Mikolay's note-taking system, that he considers as a key part to his creative process 3 steps: 1. Reading 2. Thinking (aka note-taking) 3.…
Because you don’t take everything personal Maturity tells you when it’s about the world not about you If someone is behaving like disrespecting you Find a way to make them know it’s their fault first Stand your own fucking ground Understand it’s not you it’s them You’ve matured First you already control your emotions…
A golgappa is an emotion. For most of us who have grown up in India, regardless of which part, it is symbolic of acceptance and surrender. Surrendering to the magic of the vendor who assembles the puri and dunks it in the spiced water before handing it over to you. Magic, because we really don't know what to expect.…
i was reading her lyrics and thought words like that are very bookish and it turns out she's an avid reader!! apparently she likes to go to big sur to read in peace relatable i escaped to monterey once when i felt that i couldn't make sense of my life, and it gave me all the magic i needed anyway now i wanna read…
Sometimes I feel like I see my grandmother in your eyes. The way the soft lines across your speckled face crinkle when you laugh. How your hair reaches up to the sky like the winding branches of a tree. I think sometimes I see my grandmother in you where she is not. When your eyebrows crease and I can't tell if I had…
I have wanted to pursue a Master's degree for well over a year now. The desire to do so has been all-consuming and if I'm being honest, exhausting. I find myself struggling to write the essays, and more particularly, the infamous statement of purpose. It's not that I can't find purpose. It is that I do not know how to…
Few years ago I've started posting on Linkedin. On various subjects. Mostly business, psychology, igaming, gambling, betting and online casinos. It's nice to have a tool with 300 words limit again. LinkedIn have changed, sadly. Good for them and not good for me. I've used it as a microblogging space. Maybe I'll use…
Recently, I have been applying my method for learning Chinese characters to my university studies (well to my final degree exam). It's funny that I'm only starting to use it now that I've finished all my courses, but it's never too late to implement this technique in other subjects. I always thought that with my…
One of my summer experiments as a child included learning to bake and assemble an ice cream cake. Bombay's summer heat, even in the 1980s was oppressive enough, that I was always experimenting with ''cooling'' recipes! My maternal Uncle, Bunny Mama, as we fondly called him, would indulge me with my kitchen…
"Stephen Wolfram proposed to let people choose their own Algorithm: the social platforms could still host your data and provide the interface, but the way the data is aggregated, sorted, and displayed to you would be customized by pluggable algorithms. If any entity were allowed to create and share an algorithm, they…
I woke up today and found out that Azuki, a project that I've been bullish on since I discovered them has airdropped me 4 NFTs worth (currently on the market) 3ETH each. For believing in this project since the beginning, I got rewarded 40K... just like that. Feels like something that only happens in the NFT space. But…
Routines are bossy. They are a fixed sequence of actions that must be followed to work their magic. You must follow your routine to make the magic happen. Don’t get me wrong. I love routines. The structure of routines helps you build good habits for your health, productivity, and more. They help me get through my day.…
It seems like we got some information about what the Art Symposium was about: === anon2080 The full transcript of my interview with Dr. Caleb Takagi Gutiérrez will be published next month in Ensenada Insiders. A sneak peek: - "Tell us more about what drove you to focus on artists in La Nueva" CTG: "Let me clarify that…
I love synthesizers. I own a couple of vintage ones, and other bits of vintage audio gear. There's something very interesting about how they look and how they are designed, they're like a little time capsule of a bygone era, fascinating for a wide number of reasons. But it's also true that electronic bits of kit tend…
I was supposed to be at the top. I spend most of my free time reading about politics, history, philosophy and economics. I live in the world of ideas. I think in terms of strategy. I want to lead. I want to tell other people who don't share my talent for strategic depth what my vision is and for them to implement it.…
Good night's sleep, even without the whirlpool and crappy eating. Odd dream: only a snippet of making out with a woman I know to be a lesbian. Got to listen to birdsong over coffee this morning. The birdsong doesn't make me feel as happy as it used to. Time for a break, time for a change. 280720 May 2022
i don't have an answer to WHY but i know that they do (i say "they" even though i'm american because i do not suffer from this ailment) HOW I KNOW THEY HATE THEMSELVES: they are so obsessed with being the best at everything that they do not afford themselves the luxury of simply enjoying themselves, because they do…
It is vitally important that you understand this one thing. If you want to achieve your dreams, you must stop chasing them. Here’s why. In nature, things that are chased run. Think about it. What would your instincts tell you to do if someone started running toward you? Run. Be it from them or with them. It’s in our…
Of course it's been pointed out with increasing frequency of late, but I believe it bears repeating. This addiction to seeking out the comfort of the likeminded to the exclusivity of all others and recoiling from the sheer audacity of differently-minded people to exist cannot possibly lead to anything good in the long…
Coming to terms with failing in big or small things is a difficult and ongoing challenge baked into life. It’s the struggle for perfection in whatever way we define it and the realization that it is not attainable. There is no perfect. There is just the pursuit and recovery. Getting tied to the idea of perfection only…
É meu primeiro dia de volta ao trabalho depois da cirurgia que abriu minha barriga em três lugares. O céu chora compulsivamente em SP ilustrando bem meu estado de espírito. Eu quero muito ganhar na loteria para não ter que trabalhar. Passaria o dia inteiro pintando, fazendo cursos, cantando e dançando nua e aprendendo…
Anything you could achieve can be seen when you’re young When your SOLE and ONLY purpose is the grades inside your REPORT CARD When the only thing you’ve wanted is really just to get good grades And you didn’t work hard & you knew you didn’t study that much And you got bad grades with Cheehou (that was the dream…
I took down my website. It was bullshit. Just like the many bullshit ideas that cross my mind, and all the other bullshit projects that I embark on. I started that site as another "creative outlet". A place where I could improve my writing. The latter, AKA "the goal", remains genuine. The former, AKA "the idea", AKA…
Going out with friends that have the same hobbies as you is just another level, today we went to the museum because we had a sketching assignment. It felt so cute that we were all walking with our sketch pads and pencils and sitting on the floors of the museum to appreciate artworks. I'm actually studying what I love…
I recognise that im not the most burdened human in the entirety of the world. I understand that people have suffered through wars, famine, and several other atrocities, far more macabre than i could even think of, and yet they somehow find the will to live. And then theres me, sad. I still see no point in living.…
People bother me all of the time with a great idea. "You'll love it, and I really think you can something with it," they say. I can tell they are excited. They're ready to tell anyone who will listen. They tell me about their great idea, as though I don't have a stack of ideas at home that I've been ignoring. Stuff I…
I recently bought an electric fly swatter to handle the flies in our house. It felt satisfying to quickly zap them away. However, today I encountered a fly that exhibited surprisingly clever behavior during its escape attempts. It almost seemed as if it knew what was coming and was afraid. Killing this particular fly…
Woke up around 2:20am feeling impending doom. Worries about taking care of people. Worries about not being able to do what I want. Worries about always being at others' beck & call. Watched some food & self-help videos on YouTube. Got back to bed better listening to train "chu-CHUNK=chu=CHUNK" noises to distract me.…
There are almost no obese people in Copenhagen. Most people are obese in Lexington, Kentucky. It is not that people in Lexington are lazier or dumber or more morally flawed than people in Copenhagen. In Lexington, you can't walk anywhere and it's really hard to buy decent food. In Copenhagen, it's hard to buy shitty…
She's a good girl.
Ah! the speed of our world does not sync with our concept of time. most experience time at a different pace to others and is relative to their context. there is an exception though, find the person who shares your speed. because with them the context of time become irrelevant...
"Your only power in life is to inspire other people. And the only way to inspire them is to live the most authentic and genuine life to yourself possible." - Naval Got very inspired by this quote from Naval this morning and it made me think of a recent convo I had with ldf saying how I feel almost pressured to do a…
They say that if you die at home, your cats won't even wait until your cold until they start eating you. I'm completely fine with that. It means my cats will survive until someone finds me/them and looks after them. Is this a weird first post on here? Oh well.
as I write this, there is a meeting going on in the background. Someone is saying something, and others are writing. Most are pretending to listen while they browse the internet on their laptops. Meanwhile, our client on the 56-inch LED screen continues to talk about the product. This is not the first time I am seeing…
The airport, a place where people from all over the world meet, sitting here and looking at the people passing through just makes you wonder what kinds of lifestyles do this people have, their story. Is kinda fun to try to guess and make up stories about it. There are so many possibilities in life, so many different…
To the ones, Laying awake at night, Wondering if you’ll ever find someone. Scrolling through Instagram, Looking through the window of life, And it seems like the Whole world is finding love, You’re happy for them. But there’s a whisper, A doubt, A tiny prick to the heart “Will I ever be as happy as them?” Some of us…
As writers, we long to express (our) thoughts and be heard. In today's climate, we castrate authenticity from artists willing to push (against) the global consensus. Luckily, those daring enough, regardless of the consequences — barge through any boundaries that are societally placed within (our) psyches. I adore the…
My son eyes aren't teaming properly. They create blurry images. To compensate his brain shuts off his weak eye and overloads his dominant eye. This knock-on effects are reading fatigue, inability to stay focused, etc. We may have scratched this up to ADHD and sought medication. Thankfully, my wife kept pulling the…

It's a World Cup! In December! In Qatar! The number of column inches submitted to the internet about this binge of sport is legion. This post is about marketing, however. Comedian Joe Lycett has been so outraged by the coalescence of football money and questionable regimes (under 25 woman in Qatar? Get permission, as…
The advice on how to lead a mindful and healthy life won't stop. Everything you do and your manner are incorrect. The internet and its natives have made a decision - you must change. Everything about yourself has to be new.It has to be different. It has to be optimised and efficient. Often, especially on Instagram, I…
...a place where you get to write just 300 words. Nice. Just capture what's on the mind. A snapshot. First impression: Nice, neat, uncluttered. Reminds me of blank paper on typewriter, minus any other prompts. No random feeds and hashtags, pulls or pressures. What way will this go?
You probably read that time and was like "wooow super revolutionary concept dude, you're a genius!". Or something like that. But the point stays even in days like today. And yes. This is related to my entry from the previous day. I've received a few emails from folks who are like "I hate Black Friday and I'm not going…
In honor of my birthday today, I'm giving you a gift. I’m sharing the knowledge I've gained in 65 years around the sun. Regardless of your age, you wll benefit from the lessons I've learned. Sunscreen. Lesson: I grew up in the baby oil sunbathing era. You can spend your money on sunscreen or frequent dermatologist…
Every self contains multitudes. It can be helpful to sort these elements of self into defined parts. This can help you conceptualise these competing and contradictory bits of you. One distinction that’s been super helpful to me is the child and parent, the maiden and knight, the experiencer and the agent. Separating…
"What do you think about the Rolex Daytona?", asked my friend. "It's great but I am an Omega person", I replied. "The model in the new 007 movie is truly a piece of art". "It sure is. What do you think about the grey Tom Ford suit Daniel Craig wore in the movie?", I asked. "I think the blue one was better. You should…
