Unhealthy influence
The advice on how to lead a mindful and healthy life won't stop.
Everything you do and your manner are incorrect. The internet and its natives have made a decision - you must change.
Everything about yourself has to be new.It has to be different. It has to be optimised and efficient.
Often, especially on Instagram, I notice every second reel encouraging me to reconsider something. Some of it is useful.
For instance I learnt a new way to re-pack bread. I am sure I've picked up newer ways of doing many things. But sometimes I do wonder how dissonant it would be if more people realised that internet creators do not lead the perfect lives they themselves preach about. It is doctored. Even the authenticity.
It might actually be hilarious, evil or heartbreaking if spy cameras followed health influencers around. More people would learn how even the best among us falter and fail on the very things they preach.
Such an exposé could potentially crush the blind followers' aspiration, making everyone really wary of everything they see, but it could be an interesting revelation.
Following a lot of the health trends based on reel content keeps you stuck with whatever is in at that point.
One day you're chewing gummies, the next you're fixing your gut health, and then you're making ten kinds of oils at home for your hair care.
It's as if you went to a street market selling cheap wares of how to fix health, and picked up the top four to five things sold in every shop.
One could say health is more complex than that. But health is also a lot more simple than that. You'll keep losing if you get swayed by the next trend that comes up.
Discerning unhealthy influence is key.
