Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Assisti.
Every some years, a band comes from left field and knocks your socks off. You have no expectation of them, maybe you'd never heard of them before. Leaving aside the bands of my early growing up years, bands or artists that have had that effect on me have included The Talking Heads, The Stone Roses, Nick Cave and the…
Hoje eu li bastante. Nome do…
This morning I watched a desert spiny lizard successfully intimidate an antelope ground squirrel. The squirrel is a delicate but scrappy creature. The lizard on the other hand is a spiny and tentative being. The squirrel lay bathing in a little patch of dust warmed by a sunbeam. He indulgently rubbed his belly and…
Ahh powerful moments in history are not the creations of what we make now. it is the evolution of conversation around the creations that dictate what makes history...
Improvements in the human condition are easier to create and measure when times are tough. Starving? Eat. Thirsty? Drink. Homeless? Find shelter or build a home if you can afford it (if you're in Goa, good luck). --- In times of abundance though, things get slightly tricky. How do you measure if your life is good when…
Superman, raised in small-town struggles, would not just listen; he would rise. In development, he would embody the kind of thinker who believes that change begins by confronting power itself. His approach reflects the spirit of critical development theory, where progress is not only about growth but about questioning…
Is to do every single little thing right Even if you’re out of time You still use NOW as a start Wake up and it’s a new beginning Put 💯 onto every single task I want you to monitor how you breathe All your action is going to make so many difference So you gotta fortify your mind; put a purpose Rather than feeling the…
I always carry pieces of the people I’ve lost with me. Lovers, friends and even some strangers. They reside in me. I have never been great at showing emotion or telling people how much they mean to me. But I miss them dearly. Each and everyone who added to my life. Even those from what feels like ages ago. It’s not…
SIM, massssss,…
Booking a plane ticket or places to stay can be such a pain in the ass. There are so many options and factors to consider that I end up spending more time booking than studying (which is what happened today and yesterday). At first, it's fun—you're excited and full of energy to find the best flight and stay. But after…
Do you push yourself to learn new skills? I’m exploring new skills in writing and art. My writing exploration is in its third year. I write essays and short memoir pieces on three different platforms. I also journal. There is so much to learn and so many ideas to try. I recently added art to my exploration. I’ve…
My first book read by an Indian author, was, The Book Of Short Stories, By Rabindranath Tagore. It was in my school library at the age of 13, when I discovered this masterpiece. I was enthralled by the collection of stories in it that gave a brief understanding of the prevalent complex caste system, society and…
I never fail to have something to be grateful for. How can this be? My life is ordinary. I have a good life, with a home, food, and health. My ordinary doesn't look like your ordinary. For all of us many days look almost identical. You can only write the same thing in your gratitude journal so many times, right? The…
Im normally used to have a routine that is very stable, not much going on, but this past 2 weeks have been very intense for me, from events, meeting people, moving and figuring out this this country I have been picking up very bad habits cause I have so many things I want and need to fit in my schedule. Now I realize…
Do not go gentle into that good night", do Dylan Thomas.
Starting a new business, or a tool, or a startup is considered an enormously good thing. And when you start something and shut it down after some time, you feel equal amount of sad. Why is shutting down considered bad when its the opposite when you stop for the right reasons.
so i have been very lost in my mental health for the past few weeks, not getting enough meditation in, i bounced back on pornography, my workouts have been inconsistent, i am not studying enough. I feel guilty for not doing enough, always, no matter how much work i do, i just feel that i can get more of it done. I…
creativity is all about knowing the rules and thoughtfully breaking them. in order to think outside the box, you need to understand the box. it's not about fully living outside the box either. use the box as a central hub you can build spokes out from. for example: everything everywhere all at once has been revered as…
Next time… a promise that was never fulfilled. As a kid, whenever I ask my mom for something she’d say “maybe next time?” Or whenever i ask if we can play a game together “next time?” I didn’t think much of it snd always hold onto that “next time” Now turning 16, I realised it was just empty promises. It was just a…
8 out of 10 people hate their jobs; If you love what you do daily, you're one of the few lucky people. Rest all of us are like lost satellites drifting away deep in the space with no mission and no clue of why we are even doing it. Taking back the control of your life into your own hands is not as easy as people talk…
I'm talking about structures - more specifically incentive structures. Politics, economies, sports teams, companies are all driven by incentives Those that set up well calibrated incentive structures are the most successful That's why capitalism (with regulation to account for self-centeredness of humankind) works so…
Meeting people with same experiences as me makes me so excited, in a certain way we just connect in another level, cause they just understand you, they lived through the same thing. Im really lucky to meet so many people that are similar and different at the same time.
Few years ago I've started posting on Linkedin. On various subjects. Mostly business, psychology, igaming, gambling, betting and online casinos. It's nice to have a tool with 300 words limit again. LinkedIn have changed, sadly. Good for them and not good for me. I've used it as a microblogging space. Maybe I'll use…
sometimes i think about trees and it makes me cry. then i think about why we cry. imagine if the universe gave us no tears. i don't want to throw the same old rule of symmetry in your face. but i think the universe gave us tears so that we could express our overwhelm. the true sign of love isn't belonging, it's…
So far so good I suppose, I'm comparing this experience to my micro.blog experience. The "write post" editor is not quite up to my standards and could use some improvement but it works very well. It feels like I'm writing in notepad, and I hate writing in notepad. Maybe I'll come back here and update my post with more…
Last week, I embarked on my first unplanned trip in over 8 years. I hopped on a bus, packed lightly and arrived in Kamlapur at 5 AM without a room booked. So I walked away in the opposite direction of the request bombs being dropped on me by persistent auto-drivers. I wanted to search a cheap homestay but fear of few…
Today is 31st Dec. The last calendar day of 2022. Hence, I will keep this one very short. In fact, this is just a year end note to self. A lot happened this year. I got my dream job but left it in 9 months. Instead, I chose a soulful path of wealth building. Took a bet on myself. Now building my own venture.…
In the past, I struggled so much to fall asleep. Every night was a real-life nightmare, with my brain refusing to shut down and winding up in all these hypothetical scenarios that brought me anxiety. But strangely, that doesn’t happen when I read before going to bed. Reading before sleeping, apart from making my eyes…
after going to indonesia, my appetite for experiencing the world has been awakened, for the first time (before this trip, i was excited to talk to people from different places, but didn't necessarily see the point in actually /going/ anywhere...and despite that, i had somehow visited 20 countries so everyone in my…
The optimal number of imperfections in a city is not zero. I just spent 24 hours in Lima, and I think it comes pretty close to finding the right balance between organisation and chaos. Combine that with a friendly people, an incredible cliff-edged coastline and world class cuisine, and you've got yourself a city you…
What does a brownian motion day or path look like for you? --- SCIENCE Formally Brownian Movement and commonly referred to as brownian motion, this is the random motion of particles (e.g., molecules, element) in an environment (e.g., gaseous, liquid) bumping into each other. references . about The Brownian Movement…
me: i have a once in a lifetime opportunity for you seb: ok? me: do you want to hear it? seb: well they're usually scams me: so do do you still want to hear it? seb: sure me: ok, so how about when you're done making that box, you can go rinse off the deck while i dust off and vacuum down here? seb: weren't all of…
Since the Supreme Court of the United States has punted Roe v. Wade back to a State issue, there has been debate and effort about explicitly protecting the right to abortion at the state or federal level. This issue is also touched upon by many governments worldwide. However, there is a more fundamental right…
My PKM includes not only fingertips to keyboard and screen to type but also fingers around a pen or pencil to write on paper. (Yes, I use Rocketbook. No, I don't have a tablet - yet.) Listening. When a prompt in LYT Workshop 9 was posted to share memorable podcasts, I immediately thought of and shared - this podcast…
The reason people are mentally and physically ill are usually social and economic. People need friends and a feeling of belonging. They need a sense of purpose. Financial security. A safe home and hope for the future. I read a story about a group of lonely, anxious strangers who were tasked with restoring a park over…
It began back in early march of 2024. I'd just returned from my birthday trip to Iceland. My partner at the time, recently unemployed had come along for the trip. I'd already felt some resentment from having to pay for everything on my own birthday trip, though the trip was my idea, so this wasn't justified. Upon…
Tried weights to stretch my ears for the first time. They seem to work very well. I’m trying to get back to 38mm like I had a few years ago. I went from 32mm to 35mm with this first time using the two 32g weights. I think I’m going to stay at this size for awhile and let my ears get use to it before I try moving up…
I know this phase for a long time. But only now did it occur to me, most of the things I wanted, or Future is already here. I just didn't know ( Discovery ) and it is not well distributed ( Distribution ). I.e It is still the same old Discovery and Distribution Problem. How do we solve this? What can we do to help.…
Do you ever have one of those moments when the storm clouds part, clarity strikes and for a split second, you are able to join the dots? It happened to me yesterday reading an excellent long form piece by John Kolko on Abductive Reasoning. (http://www.jonkolko.com/writingAbductiveThinking.php) No, I hadn't heard of it…
Something I have learnt about myself. I was always confused about why I was an F in MBTI. I thought I was through and through T. I overthink all the time, don’t I? But I now realise that I’m very dependent on my feelings, and they really dictate my life. For example, I can think something, it can make a lot of…
reading Holzfällen after reading "the Novelist" by Jordan Castro is a special experience. it is like the same book.
Equating the future with VR or AR is so lazy. I want a future that's tactile. I want a future that's intimate. I want to be immersed in crisp winter air, the touch of people I care for. I want to be immersed in presence.
My journey with gratitude grows like wildflowers. It's like a packet of mixed seeds. You don't know what kind until they bloom. My simple gratitude habit bloomed into other complementary characteristics. I’ve often written about how my gratitude practice makes me look for the positive in my life. Something that seems…
This is what I'd like to say: "Hey, how are things going with Project X? Do you require more time?" What I have to say is this: "Hey, how are you doing? I just wanted to check in on Project X and make sure everything is running smoothly. The deadline is approaching, so please let me know if you require extra time. :D"…
