IN THE FACE OF LOSS, LIVE LIKE A TREE
sometimes i think about trees and it makes me cry. then i think about why we cry. imagine if the universe gave us no tears. i don't want to throw the same old rule of symmetry in your face. but i think the universe gave us tears so that we could express our overwhelm.
the true sign of love isn't belonging, it's losing.
much like a tree loses its seeds. we lose love so that it can become. become into things it wouldn't if it belonged to us.
it becomes art. it becomes hope. it becomes lessons. it becomes chances. it become fearlessness. it becomes, as they, what it was meant to be.
trees could have just as easily said, "Hey, we want our seeds here, next to us."
all of the diversity we see around us would vanish in a blink.
but this diversity keeps the algorithm of randomness going. it keeps becoming.
like love does.
to answer why i cry when i think of trees is because despite all their loss, trees rarely give up giving.
they keep birthing.
in a world of loss, if i am asked how to keep going?
i would say, "like a tree does."
"loss doesn't reduce you. it doesn't diminish what you have. in the moment it feels like it does but if you just dive deep within yourself, you'll find so much more emanating from within."
a tree doesn't give up giving because giving is all it knows.
so strengthen your roots like a tree. water yourself. nourish the soil you're growing in. let loss do that.
every leaf that falls from you could become a flower in the next 5 years.
IN THE FACE OF LOSS, LIVE LIKE A TREE.
