Moving on
I always carry pieces of the people I’ve lost with me. Lovers, friends and even some strangers. They reside in me.
I have never been great at showing emotion or telling people how much they mean to me. But I miss them dearly. Each and everyone who added to my life. Even those from what feels like ages ago.
It’s not easy to always carry this burden. For some of us, there is no other way. When I was young and naive, I thought I’d move on. And their memories would be erased like I was some sort of a hard drive. But as the years go on, I realize I’ll never fully lose them. They just fade with time, like a cloth that’s been washed too many times. It may fade, but the colours never fully go away.
