Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Ich hasse die Moderne Kunst. ("I Hate Modern Art") Ullstein, Frankfurt 1960. John Anthony Thwaites.
Step 7 - While the cooker stuff is happening, you can start on the second component, which is the rice. Boil the water (almost 2 + 2 times the cup of rice added) only with the bay leaf, a cardamom and a clove and a few drops of oil. Add a few leaves of mint. Squeeze a little lemon for a zing. Step 8 - Add the soaked…
Why are we so unhappy with our work? And if we are unhappy? Why are we doing it? Who is making us do it? Is it the govt? The society? Your family? The ‘top 150’ people who run the world? Why are they called ‘top 150’ anyway? Is happiness even a correct measure of us working? Or should we just be satisfied? Is it…
why is it so hard to communicate and be understood? i feel like this is the hardest thing we have to do as humans.
Giving me those 2008-2009 vibes. All these new places on the internet to say stuff and see said stuff. Who owns this? And when will they start selling ads? The Deck was peak ads. I miss 43things.
15 months ago I left my home and moved to NYC, marking my entry into the most socially disconnected phase of my life. Faced with the formidable foe of newfound isolation, I wanted to hold on to those in Seattle who made me feel like a loved member of humanity. I felt optimistic that maintaining contact over the phone…
Everything is scripted. Media. Social media. Social circles. Everything is designed to pull emotion from your soul. That unsettled soul feeds the system, runs the power of the show. Our lives as words on a piece of (digital) paper amongst a (digital) reality. We are both the actors and the viewers. Actors desperate…
You don’t have to make the “perfect environment” You can make yourself an own garden by changing yourself You don’t have to be “clean” and tidy only at home not at work - you can do it at work too Only people who are good at their day job Could be good at their side hustles too I believe Strive to be good and better…
She was in my dreams last night, this is not the first time that it has happened. Her thoughts resurface every now and then. I look at her pictures sometimes, think about our times together. Were we just kids who did not understand love completely? Did we weigh ourselves down with the word 'love', when instead we…
I was thinking whether or not I should write this post. The reason I didn't want to is simply because my opinion on this does not matter at all. The reason I did want to write this is that it can throw some light on my thought process which applies to other things in life. I'd say I'm quite pro-Elon. Simply because…
i have had quite an interest in exploring what it means to build and inhabit more “homey” and inviting digital spaces. oftentimes i've had hangups about the polished and performative pressures that i experience on social media apps. feeling the need to tweet or post the perfect thing to represent myself. very often,…
What do we say to the god of procrastination? Not today.
somewhere between platonic and romantic there is you & me. i don't see your eyes when the lights are off. take my hand-- we dance. romance?
It's a toxic question. We like to press ourselves with it all the time. We use it to police each other. Diagnose the problem. Administer medication. It's how we like to handle problems. The question points our attention inwards and focuses on the mess we're swirling in. A better question is: What matters to you? This…
Teachers. Parents. Friends or colleagues But the one that can teach you is experiences Your own experiences and mistakes So never feel like you’ll not where you meant to be - you are! Use time wisely and explore else you’ll miss out the opportunities Of just being yourself And feeling confident Anxiety - everyone…
I've been seeing a few founders lately that already have 3 or even 4 projects and working on them simultaneously. Even if they operate under the same brand, to me this is a red flag. It's already really hard to build one really good brand/project, imagine if you have to build multiple at the same time? The common…
Very happy with the typo pun in the heading. Been trying to onboard close friends to the first social protocol and also been tinkering with figma make to have a mini app by next month. I've been trying to pitch the premise and thesis to people. Some jump in to product feedback mode without even trying the app and some…
You're a man, 1. Wake up early. 2. Pray. 3. Make your bed. 4. Brush your teeth. 5. Drink a glass of water. 6. Review your to-do list. 7. Meditate. 8. Read. 9. Write. 10. Lift. 11. Stay sober. 12. Increase your income. Nothing hurts a man like zero progress in his life.
Continuation of https://nicheless.blog/post/focusing-on-work--types-of-di A good strategy for resisting distracting thoughts is essential to maintaining focus on the work you want to accomplish. Let's take a closer look at the first distraction highlighted in the previous chapter: Waiting for a Process to Finish In my…
i took a nap under the premise of "meditation" and as i laid there i thought: "oh yes is this what meditation is? oh yes it is very pleasant. is it like a dumping out of all the thoughts i'm having? not trying to think but just letting it all out so i can have a clear mind? oh yes it is so nice oh yes i like this so…
A sense of assurance that eventually things will fall into place and you will be more than fine. Its a state of mind which makes you calm, happy and at complete ease. The last I felt this is when I was in Kannur, Kerala for New Years. The clean and calm beach with the shades of sky changes from orange to hot pink, the…
I like how dreams work. (no not the one you see with eyes wide open) Every day is a new beginning. You never know what's coming next. I always wanted to do bungee jumping. It's one of the few dreams I have. but a few weeks back, I just did that in my dreams. The next morning I woke up sad because now I know how it…
Me deixa…
sometimes i think about trees and it makes me cry. then i think about why we cry. imagine if the universe gave us no tears. i don't want to throw the same old rule of symmetry in your face. but i think the universe gave us tears so that we could express our overwhelm. the true sign of love isn't belonging, it's…
reflect & manifest reverb23 in january adapts the reverb10 event shared about in this post - https://nicheless.blog/post/before-%7C-reverb-in-december-20 "... online initiative to reflect on your year and manifest what’s next ... an opportunity to reflect on what's happened, and to send out reverberations for the year…
A good quote seen today: “You can’t go back and change the past But you can start today and change the ending” You’re kind, But just not daring and brave enough You could be more achievable If you’re more daring to think through Not stuck into some thoughts by thinking: I don’t think you can
I was recently asked about what gives me hope when I don’t believe in religion or God. And this got me thinking. Well, hope is a belief that you hold that the future will be better. It’s not bound by logic. At times, it’s also something that you create in your own mind. Whether it’s through God, religion or anything…
Endlessly offering my shoulder for you to lean and cry on, but you always reject it. Endlessly prioritizing you, instead you chose to ignore me. Endlessly understanding you, but you chose to see me as an inconvenience. Endlessly giving you my love, even if I don't get anything in return.
Running is my way of meditating. When I run, my mind enters a state of calm and focus. My breathing becomes my tempo. Running gives me space away from the digital world. It gives me space away from people. When I run, I feel my body energize — each muscle of mine gets into gear. I feel the sweat almost have a…
Of trying to be the responsible one. Of trying to be the one with empathy Of trying to keep my own value in my mind Of trying to receive an iota of love and care of what I need Of being the one constantly abandoned Of giving it my all Of just trying sometimes.
I took this day off for myself, replenished all the energy which seemed to fade away for the past few weeks & I have zero regrets. Continuing with things that drain me for more than a week would've definitely taken a toll over my mental & emotional state. I did some college work, made maggi for myself after a longggg…
i wish we had better trains, better role-models, better air, better coping mechs, and higher risk-appetite what if i continue using this as twitter and not create anything of value what th hell
Managing money is hard for a couple of reasons. Firstly, most of us don't understand what money is and how it works. We don't really understand why pieces of paper have value - many of us still think it's backed by gold. We also don't understand why a random piece of metal aka gold is so precious. We don't understand…
Week two of the new routine and its going pretty well, but there are a number of hangups that I am having trouble with. The first thing is that I had a cigar last night and ended up staying up until 1AM which pushed my wake up to 8:30AM, which in turn, pushed everything else out. I have yet to do my piano and Spanish…
Booking a plane ticket or places to stay can be such a pain in the ass. There are so many options and factors to consider that I end up spending more time booking than studying (which is what happened today and yesterday). At first, it's fun—you're excited and full of energy to find the best flight and stay. But after…
is it a good thing to have friends who look up to you? yeah of course ; and it feels nice to be someone's mentor (but sometimes i feel dubious about some of them, like i fear that one of my mentee-friends is just taking my ideas and espousing them as her own to sound intelligent; i fear she lacks the mental faculty to…
the issue with my having fallen in love with alt lit is that there is no way to procure these motherfuckers publish them on amazon, you alt lit authors i want to read them publish them for like $0.99 so i can buy like 10 of them for the price of one kidney publish more of "selected unpublished blog posts by a mexican…
My office consists of cubicles for associates and cabins for the partners. The partners take up the perimeter of the office, having glass walls with blinds - allowing them to observe us and prevent us from observing them. A subliminal show of their power over us. All in all, very panoptican and something I ruminate…
i think nicheless is the place where i slowly give shape to my becoming of a writer. see, all these years i have struggled to find my authentic voice. i have always found myself impersonating the style of the grandiose writers, philosophers or poets - depending upon whom i read last. there may have been elements of my…
Ah running out of time, "i will do it later" i say to myself. no! do it now, that same idea will not exist in the future, it will be lost. it may be found but why try. it can exist now...
What is Life? if we were to die one day, And what is Life? if we're gonna live forever.
Human thought is shaped not just by what we consciously know but by the invisible assumptions embedded in our culture, education, and social norms. These frameworks operate like mental software—unquestioned yet profoundly influential. Gregory Bateson, in That Every Schoolboy Knows, urges us to interrogate these…
I don’t have a niche. Or to be more precise, I probably have several different niches depending on who I’m talking to and what I’m doing. I talk about PR and public affairs with students and clients and fellow PR people. Within these fields, am I a tech specialist? A B2B specialist? A charity specialist? I talk about…
From a spiritual advisor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92i5m3tV5XY For the past ten years or so, every morning, the routine is to make my bed, read some spiritual literature, meditate, and pray. Lately, I have gone back to the ole Headspace well for meditation. But sometimes, like today, I sit still for a few…
I miss reading. It's been a while. It's hard to find time to start, and hard to stop recalling other things now in the middle of it, once I do. I miss learning things, the traditional, institutional way, ha. As in, at school, with books and teachers and papers. The constant input and feedback, the focus on you, when…
proust said that the hope of being soothed gives one the courage to suffer. i just read dostoevsky's "white nights" and i gained courage for suffering. i felt as though i confronted suffering right on, hand in hand, with the narrator. i feel like an utterly different person now. // i've hit a stride -- i'm getting…
I was talking to someone I care for deeply. They didn’t see the need to write or journal. There is so much already out there to read. Why would they write? Who would read it? They don’t see what I do. You journal for the benefits. The benefits are hard to see unless you journal enough to experience them. My friend…
