Why I run
Running is my way of meditating.
When I run, my mind enters a state of calm and focus.
My breathing becomes my tempo.
Running gives me space away from the digital world.
It gives me space away from people.
When I run, I feel my body energize — each muscle of mine gets into gear. I feel the sweat almost have a cleansing effect. I feel the weight of the day move off my shoulders.
Because when I'm running, everything else is immaterial. I can't afford to think about anything except my breath, my stamina, and the distance I need to cover.
As of late, I've started running without music. Best decision ever. Now I have nothing to keep my mind company. I'm forced to be patient, kill distractions, and keep pushing.
Running teaches me resilience and gives me the strength to achieve more. It teaches me to never give in. It teaches me gratitude — for my body, health, and mind.
This is why I run.
