Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
ahh AI text to image generation tools that are hot topic recently are pushing the boundary of how we can create and iterate. exploring vocabulary and visuals is an interesting topic. its like a new form of poetry. just like centuries ago, there will be many poets but not so many famous poems. i imagine what this new…
it's been a while. i'm again reminded of the power of seasons as I come up for air after another whirlwind summer. time to slow down, reflect, and reset. I love this phase, like I loved the last. but winter in particular always feels a bit like mourning. removing another layer of habits, insecurities, outdated beliefs…
Due to too much suspicious activity on Instagram Listening to “supposedly motivational podcast” But not aligning actions (WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO) DOING is most important and most vital Else it’s not important You should try out certain scheduling technics Which you’ve done quite well one day Just need…
I started fruit farming a year ago in Lamjung, located in central Nepal. Aim is to reach 100,000 fruit trees. Currently I am at 3000. Biggest challenge facing so far is getting right saplings. Now making nursery to grow my own saplings. Its amazing here. Peace, quite and all forested area. Right on the road, but very…
The mind is a curious place. It's a place for ideas, a place for rest, a safe place for the softening of chaos, distress and pain. It is powerful, intense, bewildering and surprising all at once. Most importantly, it stores an immense trove of memories and information, some conscious (and even embarrassing!), but most…
If you're here on Nicheless and also are trying to figure out how to navigate Mastodon, and are finding it not at all a friction-free process, like me... Help. How does a new user find the smart people in journalism, tech, entertainment, humor -- and, oh yeah, steer clear of the anime pornbot trolls, which I thought…
There are moments that we don't really feel proud of, moments or decisions that come as an reaction to something, for example, responding in a certain way, with a certain tone of voice, but it just comes out of us. These moments as well as many other might it be good or bad experiences and reactions are still part of…
somewhere between platonic and romantic there is you & me. i don't see your eyes when the lights are off. take my hand-- we dance. romance?
Today has been another day of just constant “Shivani-nelson” static. On top of that, I saw a slack ping from Varun (top boss) on a thread, where he directly addressed me. Here’s me noting down how my body reacted to it; 1. Immediate heart rate increase 2. Sinking feeling in my stomach 3. Thoughts in my mind about -…
Is skimming through an article or a book reading? I find that in this age of information overload, we have become superficial readers (if that’s even a term), people who claim to read but aren’t reading. You’re collecting headlines - you’re trying to know a bit about everything - so that you can’t be called out for…
ahh imagine a space to experience music that is not physical. the whole are becomes a visual representation of the music playing. vivid colours and shapes form in response to the music. smooth surfaces for a love song, a sharp point for a heartbreak, or even drops dripping to the floor in a puddle over a loss. this…
Understand the power of now By doing it without procrastinate By doing small tasks well - people will notice you Don’t be worried about doing plum assignment Do what you like to do - don’t think what you want to be (rich, be successful etc) Think what you actually like and enjoy doing Make your eyes small - don’t make…
Austin Kleon has the right idea. His lesson in Steal Like an Artist applies to more than your creative output. It applies to anything you are trying to build. A website A business A new habit What is the first action you take when you delve into something new? You research. From your research, you pull ideas you can…
You are a portrait of everyone you've ever loved. An incomplete puzzle, collecting pieces along the way. You are a window of stained glass carefully being put together piece by lonely piece. A whimsical collage collected from the pages of people's lives. You are tapestry woven with the threads of a million moments.…
There's a famous story of a group of blind men who wanted to know what an elephant was like. These men had heard a lot about this majestic creature, so they travelled together to the king's palace to visit an elephant. Since none of them could see, each man had to use his sense of touch to feel what an elephant was…
The problem with being an expert on Twitter is that there's no obligation to back your claims up with any real world experience. The fact that you can regurgitate other peoples ideas with little to no consequence means that, over time, people on twitter drift towards more talk, and less walk. I can't believe I'm…
Venture capital has funded many of today's most successful tech companies ("Big Tech"). As those companies rapidly scaled, small harms that perhaps initiated as unknown risks, ballooned. I'm not going to list them all here because I would need way more than 300 words, but here's a selective subset: - online…
If you could get all of your wasted past. How much time would you have? Would it be enough to start over.
No matter how good their life becomes, some people will find things to complain about. It doesn't matter where you put them. What you change about their life. They will crib. They will find things going wrong in their lives and rant about it. The problem is not their situation. It is not the people around them. They…
This blank page is a promise. It promises, quietly, that if I write my innermost thoughts here with no judgment I will find something of value under the detritus. Will I? I have never been able to sustain writing. I have dried up quickly, as if I saw a mirage of a deep lake and only find once I get close that it's a…
"Startup" evokes different things to different people. Is Stripe still a startup, even after a Series H round valuing it at $95B? Working at a startup can mean working for companies of significantly different employee counts, revenue, years in business, etc. (I always liked The Information's use of "private tech" to…
Humans are weird, they kill each other for a thing that brings people together .Now unlike Stranger Things , this thing isn't so strange . In Fact it is quite common all around the world. That thing is religion. Religion was supposed to bring peace , hope and harmony among people . Now unlike our mouth, there are many…
I passed through some fairly rigorous academic testing in my days as a graduate and postgraduate student in professional STEM studies. I've now grown into a role which requires that I periodically test the proficiency of youngsters in my profession. I'm just back from conducting such a proficiency test earlier today.…
Hmm. This morning, I was thinking to myself that we use too many apps anyways, and now, I'm thinking of building another one. But then, I find myself excited to see what lies ahead. Also, it depends on the time of day. In the mornings, I am more open to screen-time, but by the evening, it gets too much.
Don’t forget your party favor! Thanks for coming to my birthday party yesterday. I'm glad you could make it. I've learned a lot in 65 years. I started writing so I could share it with you. You might have to spend some money on my gift to you yesterday. Today's party favor is also a list of life lessons, but these only…
Problem-solving is a skill we begin practicing in infancy. Problems never go away. Our strategies for solving them change with age and practice. Use journaling as a strategy for dealing with frustrations, problems, and negative emotions. Even if you don't journal daily, writing your thoughts gives you an opportunity…
Had to just get this one out of the way ASAP to see how it feels. Publishing my thoughts online has been a goal of mine this year (never too late to start on your resolutions, right?), and I’m glad I found this medium to do so. Going to leave all personally identifiable info out for now, until I find a reason to do…
i realize i've attributed the idea of nostalgia to a negative form of idyllic memory. like the only difference between memory and nostalgia is that wistful and picturesque filter we view our own memories through. i didn't think it was possible to look back on unhappy times through the lens of nostalgia without…
Some of the best ideas are from someone else. In my two years of journaling daily, I’ve been open to trying new prompts. Some prompts are keepers. Others don’t last. My format came from many sources. I journal in the morning and evening. My morning routine, in the order I adopted them into the format. Gratitude - Two…

Shakira and Gerard Pique are separating after being together for 12 years. I was scrolling through twitter when I first came across a tweet about this and I did not think it is true . But soon after a few days it was all over the news that Pique was cheating on Shakira and was even living alone in an apartment now .…
I wanted to have a stellar career early amongst my peers. For that I started to learn things of my interest which later could become a part of my skillset. But while interning at Blinkit, I listened to my manager's career transitions from Marketing to Sales and all. This made me search skillsets of specific job roles…

The little firm that I was was part of setting up in March 2000 now has over 600 lawyers and is heading towards having one hundred partners. Its place in the top echelon of the Indian law firm world is well established. It is an admired employer, trusted by clients and seasoned lawyers see it as the platform to…
When you were a kid you thought everything is possible And why adults are always so busy as having so many excuses That’s because adults learn the bad things Never ever endulge yourself in the bad habits Find the good things Always Do the best
This situation has helped me to understand one of the most important truths in life. We do not deserve to be happy. Both deservedness and happiness are human inventions that try to project a fictitious vital image that never materializes and, therefore, generates unhappiness. To explain this point we do not have to…
You should be asking yourself what’s the goal Else you’ll be working under G And problem with people like him is they never tell you their details They just want what they wanted People working under them won’t feel so appreciated and it’ll be in another words: pain in the ass You walk through IKEA finding yourself…
I've lived my life on high ambition. In school it was about getting the highest marks, or winning the competitions I enrolled in. Slowly it turned to having a great career, becoming the best person I could be etc. But recently, I've been disillusioned by this approach. Don't get me wrong. Greatness is... great. It's…
Hola lector, lectora!
It hit me today. The realization didn't hit me like a ton of bricks. (Like some people would say.) But it did arrive to my conscious awareness. What am I talking about? Well, the fact that people don't do that of taking time and space out of their mundane routine. Like what I can write in the following paragraphs can…
ahh today an image created sparked a memory of an architectural concept about modernity (Weak and Diffuse modernity by Andrea Branzi). it theorized an idea for urban planning by taking 'weak' forms such as incomplete design and elasticity, then applied them to how a city can be formed. an ambitious though would be to…
Maybe there’s more way to go about it. Why I feel anxious when something is not going my way - is because I was not used to acting or behaving this way. Too much of my own comfort zone. So to not feel anxious - be comfortable in feeling uncomfortable. Know that you’ll fail no matter what in the first place and it’s…
Photo above: Library/Conference/lunch room circa 2000. L to R Siddharth Wahi, Abhishek Saxena, Hardip Wirk, self, Saket Shukla. There's been an overwhelming, heartwarming response to yesterday's post. Many thanks. There have also been a lot of follow up questions. Here are a few answers: No, I'm not going to disclose…
Ahh! sometimes an image is enough to communicate, look at it. what do you read from my mind...
It took me over two weeks to finish Barkha Dutt's book, To Hell and Back. Not because it reads slowly - quite the contrary. But the scope of the pandemic, and the individual and collective tragedies it contains within it, required me to put it aside for days at a time. Individual stories stood out, framed in sharp…
He came to see me, Even if I forgot. He was the inspiration, Behind every lovely shot. He always sat there, Fulfilled and lone. Beholding me gracefully, He jollied and shone. I remember spending nights, Thinking of him on my roof. I crave this gorgeous- He lives aloof. I ask the ones whom he met, Is he the same he…
