Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Came across a captivating question recently by Nicheless founder Louis on his post "12 questions that captivate me". Can a society with diverse, conflicting values survive? I believe only a society with diverse and conflicting values can survive. Humans follow their desires to pretty much any extreme. If a particular…
I seem to be needing emotional punching bags to deal with my emotions. What happens if the punching bag is alive and feels you punching it? Anyway, just commemorating the first time I’ve cried on call with SM because of an argument we’ve been having.
I've been thinking about how civilizations of the future would organize their data. What mechanism would a galaxy use to work together and share reliable information accurately and instantly? I started thinking about our own history and how we manage knowledge in our most complex societies. As much as sci-fi movies…
Today, when even the worst SM content format ever created (Reels/Shorts) tries to be "informative", its clear that we are living in the age of huge information excess. It is made worse by the "good intention" of continuously learning. So, we have access to limitless information and we consume a lot of it because of…
ahhhhhh a reoccurring shape i use in creation is a sphere. why do i use it? the reason derives from a quote by Andrea Branzi "the distance between the natural world and artificial world no longer exists today, because the latter has become second nature". this quote resonates with me, i exists both naturally and…
Where I'm from, asking your waiter about the ingredients in a dish usually prompts one of two responses: 1) "You can't have this, this, or this. But this and this are safe to eat." 2) "Uh, I'll ask the kitchen and get back to you." While visiting London, I was really surprised that the near universal response was…
Running is my way of meditating. When I run, my mind enters a state of calm and focus. My breathing becomes my tempo. Running gives me space away from the digital world. It gives me space away from people. When I run, I feel my body energize — each muscle of mine gets into gear. I feel the sweat almost have a…
Alright this is the second time in a row that I forgot to write I did not create the time block I talked about. But, no more excuses. I'm doing it right away to remind me everyday to write at 9.30pm. Right now when I'm thinking about what to write here, there are a thousand ideas swimming in my mind. Rather than…
I saw this prayer for someone and it seems similar to what I pray for you. So edited it a bit to make it suit you and to how I usually pray. Here's my prayer for you: God please save him Heal his heart and protect his glory Expand his mind and bless his story Help me protect his peace no matter what he's enduring Keep…
(original: 14 Jan 2006) Welcome to my relocation rants & raves! Hello! FIRST TIME BLOGGER and BUSINESS OWNER ... This is my first blog mainly for those interested in my relocation planning and activities from San Diego to the Bay Area. (And I'm sure it will contribute to my tendency to procrastinate and provide an…
I ain’t good writing stuff tbh. Hell, can’t even write anything good like shakespear but its the thought that counts :p Music has always been apart of me. From when i was in the womb until now, and maybe in the future. It was my only way of escaping from reality, extinguishing the fiery feeling in my chest after an…
I don't have a plan for this blog. However, every time I considered writing a new post, I procrastinated. I watched TBBT for the nth time. I started reading a new book. I binged that new song album I haven't gotten around to. I began entertaining my pets. The mix of things I do to put writing away is endless. So my…
For the longest time, infinity seemed like a magical and rather useless concept. If anything, it was some object that was larger than everything else. It was a way to win arguments as a kid. If you ever found yourself in a shouting match, all you needed to do was state your position once more followed by the magic…
It took me over two weeks to finish Barkha Dutt's book, To Hell and Back. Not because it reads slowly - quite the contrary. But the scope of the pandemic, and the individual and collective tragedies it contains within it, required me to put it aside for days at a time. Individual stories stood out, framed in sharp…
ahhh! today creation is hard. it frustrates me. reoccurring in my mind as an emotion, fades from top to bottom. somewhere in the gradient is the perfect colour that represents the output of my frustration
We're in a bear market and it seems like it's going to be around for a while. It's a little over 2 years since the pandemic started and we're back to seeing layoffs and continuous red candlesticks. Since 2008, slowdowns have been rare and even in 2020, when Covid just started, it was short lived. So this will probably…
You should shed people’s expectations of whom you should be or what you should behave like. There is no reason to be concerned with what your friends or neighbours or acquitances think about you. You’re the driver in your life, only you can see your road ahead and the journey you have traversed. You cannot expect…
Something as simple as a hot shower can be so many things at the same time: a moment to reflect, a moment where ideas pop, a moment to rewind, a moment to be peaceful with yourself, a moment to share with your loved one (?), a moment to feel the hot water rinsing your skin, a moment to feel refreshed, a moment where…
Be a doer, not ‘JUST’ a thinker Acting like the best man in the room Best thing to do - think - ACT! (Reputation matters: for competency. But humanity & symphathy makes it charismatic ✨) Click:: Jump!:: (Remove past thoughts):: Think-forward:: G O! ::think of everything deep::…
I know other journalers through my online writing cohort and social media connections. I don’t know other journalers among my family, friends, and acquaintances. When others find out I journal, they express admiration. In my visual journaling class, I was the only one who journaled. Even the instructor didn’t journal!…
every one i see talks about how essential freedom is. how it's what our soul craves. truth is, freedom has a price. hell, everything has a price. we're born when a mother pays the price of pain. to have something, we must give something. i have never felt so free and yet bounded. you cannot leave who you are at home.…
Recently, I bought a Sailor Fude de Mannen pen, as suggested by a friend. It was supposed to be an ink guzzler but he mentioned that it comes with 2 cartridges. I also remember reading a buyer comment on Amazon about 2 cartridges. The seller description, however, did not mention this. I cross-checked with the vendor,…
I completed a 2-day "ultra-marathon-type" race this weekend where you run 48 miles over the course of 48 hours. It was grueling and I enjoyed the challenge. I have run a regular marathon and done other various physical challenges, always trying to maintain some novelty and keep myself interested. In the final hours of…
Imagine if a team could share ownership of a company's social media presence without being told what to do and without a huge amount of process or formality getting in the way. The way I see it, a company exists to help people solve a problem. They already have a group of the most qualified people to solve that…
First post. I have no idea what I'll write here or whether I will even write at all after this first post. Let's see how it turns out.
This page serves as my personal digital diary. Due to my overly active mind and severe ADHD, I often forget thoughts that never even make it to my consciousness. It's as if I've thought of everything, but in reality, I'm not thinking at all. The topics covered will range from the silliest reasons to serious thoughts…
Despite my scientific background, education, and critical thinking skills — I am extremely superstitious. I am not religious. I love the contrarian viewpoint. I am able to think for myself. Yet I am incredibly superstitious. It is primarily because of witnessing too many improbable events. In healthcare, some of the…
I have successfully wasted 1.5 hours browsing random af videos and reels on youtube. I really struggle to figure out the power of these videos! What is it in them that allows us to just be so hooked to them? I am increasingly feeling excess cringe and also annoyed at the type of content that is "designed to trend" on…
and who teach me how to love things i met a girl who loves to cook and garden and by hanging out with her, or maybe by cooking with her, i grew to LOVE cooking and just hearing her talk about gardening made me love gardening more i had a friend in hs who was an Arts & Culture Self-Guided Exploration Master and she…
When I touch my thumb and my index finger together, if feel a sensation. I can try to convey my experience to you in words. Pressure, skin, temperature, bones, soft, hard. These are just words. We love words, that's why were are here on nicheless. But in no way, you can ever know what this sensation feels like for me.…
Do you know how to fight against the wave? 1, Rationalize your feelings. Every time you feel something, you tell yourself, "It's not that bad, I don’t have it so bad." This way, you don't acknowledge them, and a part of you feels unheard. 2, Do everything you can to get rid of it. Meditation, yoga, dance, journaling.…
In order of least to most dangerous: 1) People who are openly driven by ambition and self-interest to amass wealth and power 2) People who are secretly driven by ambition and self-interest to amass wealth and power while publicly professing noble intentions to benefit the public 3) People who actually believe they are…
Fico tão feliz de ver o quanto ele me apoia. O avião atrasou bem. Mas finalmente…
To be at to have a sharp brain Keep working Reading Have a social life When tired - take it slower; but you’ve never heard people said STOP 🛑 just slower The first step is always the hardest First step of “吃苦” - of hardworking Allocate an “action card” to it For example if I put the laptop on my lap on the MRT - I’ll…
There is something aching in my throat. It clings like a desperate spore, spewing and propagating upon itself, reiterating, wanting to be more but only manifesting as pain. I call it pain but really it is longing. I used to look at the world as a child did. Now I have developed floaters in my retinal fluid. Reticent…
Yesterday, I was watching my some random reels and one of them I could totally connect to. I feel like I’ve lived my whole life trying to not take up too much space. It’s so liberating to have found vocabulary to describe exactly how you’ve been feeling your entire life. I see it in all parts of my life. Personal and…
Don’t have to be rich to be confident Just doing your thing, playing your game, knowing what you do is what you want Feeling anxious and conscious about it is a good thing. It’s a self protection mechanism that allows you to think for yourself But think for yourself when you’re alone. Don’t show it to others. Don’t…
Today, I had a really nice Zen day. I'm in Crestone, CO visiting for a month. I enjoyed the mountain view and the local library, where I read a book about stillness and being present in your moment. Last night, I contacted our Airbnb host to ask about why my trash had not been picked up. The response kicked me out of…
Aĥĥ there is joy to find in thinking about how others create. their process, their thoughts, their ethos. some i can see clearly, while others make me wonder more. it is the latter who interest me most because whatever they create next, it will communicate another hint into how they create...
Casey Neistat moved back to NYC in September and started putting out YouTube videos again. His recent videos all center around the chaotic rawness of NYC. We see a place brimming of energy. It's buzzing. It's shaking. The people are all main characters. You watch the videos, and you can't help but fall in love with…
it costs as much to buy Holzfällen from Amazon.it as it does to buy it from Orellfuessli but whereas Amazon will deliver it this weekend, S has to fly to Switzerland first to then bring me back the book but since we already have an Orellfuessli giftcard...but I also don't want his mom looking at the book thinking…
I wish I had followed up on my previous post. Now I completely forgotten what part 2 was suppose to be. So I have this Part 1.5 as an update for myself. We now have rumours and hints that Cortex X4, on 3nm may be able to get 15% Clock Speed increase, and possibly 15% or 20% IPC increase. On a 15%/15% increase that…
Alfred Hitchcock said, "Happiness is a clear horizon." -- Feelings of joy or excitement are not happiness; happiness is a place of contentment. The problem arises when we place happiness so high on our list of priorities that we forget it comes from taking action. Yes, I'm not against happiness; it is desirable.…
I was other day randomly thinking about the way we spend our time on weekends. We have around 52 weeks in a year and for most of us it is 2 days off so effectively we have 104 days for ourselves. If we take out effectively 2 hours for our productivity schedule in a day on a weekend, then we have around 208 hours to…
