Excerpts from a book I will never publish #1
You should shed people’s expectations of whom you should be or what you should behave like. There is no reason to be concerned with what your friends or neighbours or acquitances think about you. You’re the driver in your life, only you can see your road ahead and the journey you have traversed. You cannot expect others to understand how far you have come or where you wish to go.
Something that is more important is to align your life on values around what you want it to be rather than trying to replicate other’s life and their perceived successes. Mimetic desire is a hard thing to control it is one of those weird things that even if you are aware of it, even if you think you are above it, it catches up with you and affects your decision making.
