book import & politics
it costs as much to buy Holzfällen from Amazon.it as it does to buy it from Orellfuessli but whereas Amazon will deliver it this weekend, S has to fly to Switzerland first to then bring me back the book but since we already have an Orellfuessli giftcard...but I also don't want his mom looking at the book thinking "this is what she thinks of us...she hates us like the narrator hates his entourage" because it is true that we have had a 'spute and are not on speaking terms and it totally makes sense for her to think that way about me especially because this book IS exactly how I feel about her/their whole family
so I asked the boat people if anyone has a copy that I can read
because there are so many Germans and Austrians and Swiss here that maybe someone has it
//
in other news, I no longer have to read that typo-ridden copy of "rêveries du Promeneur Solitaire" that I found on Gutenberg because I got a fresh copy from Kindle for FREE
sometimes classics on Amazon are sold for $0.00
but they must've just put it up because I looked just a few weeks ago and there was NOTHING
//
in other other news I am now communicating in Casual Business Italian about selling our old dinghy outboard because we got a bigger better one and the combination of my 3 months of Italian study back a few years ago and my French is enough for me to understand without problem and then, with the help of Google Translate, respond without problem.
the problem begins when they call me
because written Italian is French enough but spoken Italian is nothing like French and I am so lost. Plus my conjugation is bad.
