The waves of life and how to surf.
Do you know how to fight against the wave?
1, Rationalize your feelings. Every time you feel something, you tell yourself, "It's not that bad, I don’t have it so bad." This way, you don't acknowledge them, and a part of you feels unheard.
2, Do everything you can to get rid of it. Meditation, yoga, dance, journaling. This sends the signal that the feelings are not allowed to exist. A part of you then feels unheard.
3, Compare yourself to the best version of yourself, or even better, to an idol. This gives you the feeling that you're not good enough because others can do it and you can’t. This makes a part of you feel unheard.
These techniques all work very well to swim against the wave. It costs a lot of energy, both mentally and in your life energy.
You will remain unhappy if you always fight against reality.
Strangely enough, you will reach your goals much faster if you accept reality. Even when it's unpleasant.
Here's how to accept reality:
1, Understand that life is half uncontrollable. Letting go is a sign of courage. Control is a sign of fear.
2, Understand that part of you strives for stability, and another part for waves. You wouldn’t want either one forever, and it’s not possible either.
3, Your feelings are allowed to exist. They are not bad. They are a part of you at this moment. But you are not them. Don’t try to let them go because that quickly turns into pushing them away. Don’t try to hold on to them. Don’t consciously observe them. Don’t ignore them. Just live through it.
Right now, you don’t realize it, but you are a valuable person. Try not to change anything, and you will change.
