Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Writing without proper capitalization, punctuation and spelling is like attending Zoom meetings in your pajamas. Everybody knows you're there. What difference does it make, one might ask? Why go through the trouble of being presentable when there is no functional difference? We are not purely functional beings. A…
I am working harder to not let my thought streams dry up. These are the moments that matter to me, the singular blips in time that I wish to hold and cherish. But what are moments but bits of life, sewn together. When I look back at the tapestry of time I've built, I'm troubled by what I see. Glorious highs get lost…
ahh Poetry from eras gone show why our words are powerful. They inspire new creations decades and centuries later. It connects us to the past, present and future. One day I would like to design Poetry, but for now I do not know what to say. Time will give me a stronger voice...
They say that if you die at home, your cats won't even wait until your cold until they start eating you. I'm completely fine with that. It means my cats will survive until someone finds me/them and looks after them. Is this a weird first post on here? Oh well.
The working Tom is struggling for air And it's making Dick a Millionaire Harry's watching the news...he's got no clue Just wants to stay away from this worldly zoo...
Beneath vast open skies, Mountains stare and Oceans rise, A view serene, so complete, No walls, bounds or goals to meet.... Yet man, in folly, stakes his claim, Assigns to beauty, price and name, As if the earth, confined by gold Will reveal its beauty for the price its sold The lake reflects the moonlit glows, Waves…
This is hard to admit, but I've been struggling with reading long form content. Today, I opened an article, and half way through, I put my phone down cos I just couldn't take it. I forced myself to go back and read the rest of it. It's worrying me that my attention is not mine anymore, and there's a bunch of reading I…
It hit me today. The realization didn't hit me like a ton of bricks. (Like some people would say.) But it did arrive to my conscious awareness. What am I talking about? Well, the fact that people don't do that of taking time and space out of their mundane routine. Like what I can write in the following paragraphs can…
“I’m through with this fuckin war, through with marchin in the dust, through with gettin shot at. I’m done, I’m goin’ home,” spouted Jenkins as he got up from the fire. “Quit bein’ a pussy, ain’t one of us here that don’t wanna be home” countered Carlton. “I ain't no pussy.” “Sure acting like one.” “Evenin’ boys”…
You might be sitting at a restaurant with a friend. The check comes, and your dining partner reaches for his wallet. "No, no," you kindly remind him, "it's my turn." This reciprocal gesture may be well-intentioned, but it immediately triggers a sense of disappointment bordering on offense. "Don't turn this into a…
It's crazy how effortlessly our perceptions shift and how quickly we adapt to new circumstances, seamlessly readjusting our sense of "normal." Our readiness to adjust so swiftly demonstrates our remarkable ability to thrive, no matter the circumstances.
i think i was a little manic today i think my baseline is other people's "slightly" manic because (1)i talk a lot (2) i talk fast (3) can be very uninhibited and therefore rude and inappropriate (4) ideas are strange (in a good way like i'm not even going to sit here and pretend to be self-deprecating -- today i…
I had another heavy conversation with my mom today. I’ve noticed she often has these outpouring sessions ever so periodically where she shares her pain and hurtful past incidents with me. 1. I’ve noticed a lot of repetition in the stories she narrates and I believe these are unresolved issues and conflicts that she…
I didn't sell enough in the last cycle. I made too many long-term bets on projects that have not (🤞🏻yet🤞🏻) captured attention this cycle. Cardano, Polkadot, Cosmos, Ripple & Polygon, primarily. My thesis was that these are long-term projects/investments, and while most of them are in profit from where I bought, I…
na tentativa de RESOLVER (coisa que amo e sou viciada em) os milhares de pensamentos que me rondam todo dia estou aqui. já tentei 130 mídias papel post it páginas matinais, nada me parece muito sincero, sempre me edito e tento deixar mais polido do que é na mente. sendo um pouco cria da internet vai que aqui me sinto…
The comfort zone is a deceptive piece of shit that keeps trying to stop me from having formative experiences. Although I am aware of this, it hits me every time and each time it costs me a great deal of effort to overcome it. The good news is that the comfort zone expands with every new experience, when seeking…
Exciting times! I just bought 2 holidays this weekend. In March I'm going to Cyprus for one week with my two older boys. D won't be joining us - She will've just changed her job and -although they say she can work anywhere she wants- she doesn't want to test them on this yet. But I need a week in the sun every Feb/…
I’ve been so supportive to Shivani. I’m so excited for her. That is true. But I’m also going through pain but don’t want her to have to see this because I don’t want it to affect her relationship. I can already imagine nelson saying “oh, you’re such a liar, you’re such a fake, yada yada” Fuck off okay? Take your own…
Most of us have hobbies or interests that are a part of, or define who we are. Some make a career out of it, going in deep and letting their curiosity lead them wherever it goes. Others just like being able to relax, doing what they enjoy. But there are some who are interested in a multitude of things, so many objects…
Learning to be sociable is a skill Because life is not all about technicals and academia - you need to put effort into having to know yourself as a human Even now you talk sound like a robot And the number 1 first rule to be a sociable human being is to: Be your OWN human; not feeling anxiety or fear or "trying to…
Notifications control our lives. Every minute of my day, as my phone buzzes, I can't stop this unending desire to see what the notification was. I'm consumed by the apps on my phone. In a day, it doesn't seem so noticeable. But as the days add up, I live my life by the notification, more than by the moments. We all…
It is important to intervene when you get into a negative self-talk rabbit hole. It happened to me today: "It's 5 pm! No haven't been 'productive'" "What are you doing? The client is billing you!" In these times, you need to ask the sergeant to relax. I call this alter-ego, the Sergeant. Intervene in the following…
Ahhh my moment of peak conscious occurs frequently before my eyes fall asleep. at that moment there is a choice; do i record that moment/idea or loose it...
Only people who start and initiated - have that idea and wanted to achieve there Even initiating the group Saying ideas which was thought by everyone But you’re the one who said it FIRST Or initiated the idea Those people are the ones that can change the world You can figured out from the coordination work you did…
One of the biggest news right now is the deepest image of the universe pictured by NASA through the newly developed James Webb Space Telescope. The picture shows hundreds of galaxies which could not earlier be captured by Hubble, NASA’s old telescope which has been replaced by the Webb. NASA’s website says that…
Complete: to make whole or perfect; to mark the end of So many pursuits are taken up with the idea of perfection or wholeness arriving at some point. But what is ever complete? There is no state of perfection or wholeness that can be achieved. The closest thing to it might just be recognizing the futility of the chase…
It should be the other way round - because it’s very very tricky that you fell into the trap. Time has the biggest value - so invest early, study early and gain the knowledge Rich kids coming from rich families already know that idea It’s the poor that refuses or emotionally attached to the system of old beliefs You…
It's been 1.5 days since I underwent a surgery to repair my shoulder, and I can't believe that I've been struggling to find non-work thoughts and activities to fill my time. Persistent anxiety about the state I've left certain projects, which have been all-consuming in recent months, even manifests in my dreams. I've…
I don't dare let myself believe the ideas I actually feel are true. It would make me feel far too exposed. I need someone else to validate me before taking an idea on as a capital-B Belief. I'd like at least one other person to go 'yeah, makes sense to me'. If I don't get that, I better tuck the idea away and try to…
This is something that came to my mind recently. Mostly because I had to make changes to my usual schedule to better accommodate engagement with other fellow creators and to be available for my client's work. It made me think that routines, as much as they're touted to be the key to success, don't make you a…
The best mentors are the ones who don't charge for their time. Hear me out. I'm not talking about the ones who make mentoring their main source of income. I'm talking about industry veterans who are passionate about what they do and want to pass on all that they've learned over the years. They've already "made it" and…
I'm 2 weeks away from finishing my final placement of medical school. 6 years of studying are nearly complete and it feels strange. I already have a substack but I love the idea of being nicheless. Although I've called this 'thejuniordoctor', I'm not sure it will solely be writing about the profession I'm going into.…
At the end, we all die. This is not some distant, obscure fact to be filed away in the background. The fact that you will die is here, right now. This is truth. All your sought after money, status, fame, friendship, lovers, kids. It’s all meaningless in the long run. Dust in the wind. It’s okay to be sad about it. But…
Hey guys, Today we'll talk about the legend of Amrita Sher-Gil. In memory of her life and the legacy she left behind. For all the things we read and hear about people of Ms. Sher-gil stature we ourselves have a personal relationship with them that's based on how we consumed them. This is my relationship with the…
Maybe you shouldn’t be affected by how others treat you You need to be big enough Still smile to them To L, to the Myanmar engineer who is rude Make eye contact and smile - say hi morning, things like that Don’t be rude just because others are That makes you reactive - and only initiative people tends to get success…
At some point, you find you've become become 'senior'. No advance notice is sent of this and it does not figure on any meeting agendas. When someone introduces me as 'highly experienced', I look over my shoulder to see who they are really talking about. As seniority hits, I'm finding myself learning more and more from…
For the past two weeks work has been quite stressful. We have this major change going through the system and I am running point. Now normally this wouldn't scare me but there is a lot of attention on this one. Ever step is being judged and reconsidered. Every day I get another earful of caution. Don't make a wrong…
To be influencing And effective in your words The smartest/dumbest person would do when someone point his pain point to you is straight to to his pain point and talk about that point Side him first “I understand! He’s so COPYCAT like omg I can’t believed what he did” “But…” “Have you thought of talking to him about…
Sim, estou internada.
This is me writing about how I managed to wake up today and being poetic about it because why not haha I peered out, blurry and blinking leaving dreams behind - most of myself selling crumbs of bargains for an ounce of sleep each I promised myself the edge of the world my eyes in line with the slit in the doorway, -…
There's been talk on Twitter lately about the massive funds of the Wikimedia Foundation. I had no idea, and I think others were surprised too. It makes sense, though. I was always surprised at the professionalism of their work compared to the homemade vibe of the volunteer communities that run the wikis. They use…
Humans have a tendency to over-imitate and copy people of high status, in order to gain prestige, knowledge and skills. This is why people often imitate the habits of successful people, such as the morning routine they follow. However, it is wise to be cautious before blindly imitating others, as success takes more…
A ex-Google engineer name Blake Lemoine was fired for falsely asserting that an "AI" chat bot called LaMDA was sentient. It made for good headlines, with plenty of interesting comments from armchair experts. Here's another hot take. When the time finally comes, how can we determine if a computer is intelligent? Or…
A little add-on to yesterdays essay on birthdays. I've spent the evening answering birthday messages, and while some of them were generic from random people, quite some were also very personal, from people I'm not that much in contact with but that I care about and enjoy spending time and interacting with. Birthdays,…
I have worked at a dozen companies and every company has its own culture. By the way you may wonder how does a company have it's own culture. Culture is all about how people treat one another i.e. how do peers interact, how do superiors interact with their subordinates and the list goes on. If you take a company which…
