Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Many eloquent words will have been spoken and written around the world today about this tragic day in Liverpool FC's history. Best just to use those of Rodgers and Hammerstein here. When you walk through a storm Hold your head up high And don't be afraid of the dark At the end of a storm There's a golden sky And the…
Earlier, I wrote about guilt related to consuming content on the internet. I got rid of that feeling by watching shows which I need not binge. Food shows seemed just right. Food is so central to all our lives and intertwined with the history, culture, and sociology of a people that it can't be dull. While growing up,…
Reflecting on the experiment of writing every day for more than a month, I can say that, at first, like any other challenge in life, it seemed daunting. You doubt yourself and are scared of all the "what ifs" that could happen. The first days are probably the hardest; there is a change in your life, and you're not…
I recently broke up with my girlfriend of 3 years. And within 2 weeks i was back on hinge. At first I loved being on the app. The validation of women liking you for your looks with no idea how your personality would grate against theirs. Swiping, swiping, chatting, chatting. Plenty is waxed on how great the validation…
Notifications control our lives. Every minute of my day, as my phone buzzes, I can't stop this unending desire to see what the notification was. I'm consumed by the apps on my phone. In a day, it doesn't seem so noticeable. But as the days add up, I live my life by the notification, more than by the moments. We all…
Change brings uncertainty, and it's easy to get lost in the maze of "what ifs." I'm currently in the process of organizing many things and entering a completely new chapter in my life. There are countless variables, question marks, and potential bottlenecks where things could go wrong. Yes, it makes sense to consider…
When you're younger, you are encouraged to be ambitious. As the years fly by, you learn the important of accepting. Of late, I've found myself in a tricky spot - figuring out the right balance of ambition and acceptance. I would consider myself an ambitious person. There's a lot I think I can achieve and when I look…
Did I mention this anon stream has been going on for 4 months? When I found it through the 'Random' feature, I pinned it right before it swapped to the next random streamer. And I've been returning to it every night to check for updates. Some posts in the stream have words in Spanish and others in Japanese. I do not…
all’s too loud, I need silence it’s whining like sirens a buzz so strong, a hum so intense it suffocates every thought in my head indecision of a mind split in two all sense disperses tunnel vision pulling through
Your life and mine eyes that intertwine. Like rings around a finger and golden sheets of amber. Like a bicycle wheels belonging to childhood. Innocence and romance, Chocolate and laughter. Your life and mine, like the surface of a swimming pool in a fresh morning. Or the side of a river, calm. And pebbles. Your lips…
Why is it so difficult to live for today? The nerves when you're drinking coffee thinking of to-do lists for the week; frustrations when someone accidentally inconveniences you; the goals that seem so far-reached and keep growing no matter how close you get. Yet, there's the wind that reminds you of today; the sun and…
Problem-solving is a skill we begin practicing in infancy. Problems never go away. Our strategies for solving them change with age and practice. Use journaling as a strategy for dealing with frustrations, problems, and negative emotions. Even if you don't journal daily, writing your thoughts gives you an opportunity…
Hello, As a kid I spent many hours gaming and one of my favorite genre was "RPG" (Role Playing) because these game were open ended and played out based on the choices that the player makes based on internal & external considerations. The effects of these choices are consequential. Everything in a good RPG effects the…
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh Exhausted from the day. tomorrow excites me. a dream of tomorrow as i sleep will be worth the efforts of today...
A new visual announcement has been piped in to the lounge at my corporate day job, proudly announcing that our CEO was recently crowned "1 most influential" by some self-proclaimed arbiter of the game. Besides immediately striking me as a dick-waving power move, I wondered why they chose to emphasize influence as a…
I have been thinking about creativity lately. More precisely I have been thinking about how I used to be a lot more creative than I am right now. We have all heard famous quotes about “the system” killing creativity as we grow up. I recently went down this rabbit hole to explore what exactly happens, here is what I…
have you ever considered that maybe the toxic things you once felt bad about enjoying are the only things that truly nourish you? i am feeling that the life i now have is not really a life worth living; it is for someone but not for me (this must seem insane ; i'm living people's lifelong dreams...and everyone says…
I. Best-case scenario Donald Trump is elected president in November. An Iranian proxy, whether Houthi, Hezbollah, or Iraqi Shi'ite militia, attacks an American naval vessel in the Persian Gulf. Trump orders a brutal retaliation that decimates the Iranian oil industry in Bandar Abbas. Iran, humiliated, pulls back its…
There are 2 kinds of jobs. The first is where one needs to do something. This usually requires one to be physically present and trade in time and energy for whatever needs to be done. If one doesn't do something, the job is not done. This kind of job is mostly synonymous to low skill and blue collared work like a…
You might be able to sum up the dharma with “comparison is the thief of joy”. Just expand the comparison to not be versus other people, but versus anything and everything. Your food fell on the floor, and it’s made you sad? Now you’re comparing having the candy versus not having the candy. Let go of it. You stubbed…
This will likely happen many times over. I'm not necessarily building towards something, which makes this pseudo-habit hard to complete. Which brings up an interesting thought for me: am I conditioned to do things if and only if it leads or builds towards something? I definitely have this mindset these days. While not…
What you do when you're alone that allows you to become the best version of yourself, determines what kind of success you're going to attain. Imagine: KS - probably sleeping or gaming or Tik Tok E - He probably read news or he read about startups; gaining knowledge that allows him to excel in his career You - Staring…
I waited in the train station restroom. A woman exited the stall, telling me, “There’s no more tissue, but I had some in my purse, so I left a small tissue pack on the dispenser.” That is when I knew I am not as kind and friendly as I thought. Scotland's culture is similar to the United States. We don’t dress…
I'm trying to write publicly at the same time authentically At the same time, without the performance pressure of likes, comments, RTs. Seems cool. Seems entertaining. Seems a good cathartic experience. I'm always in search of niching down. Hopefully this one would prove otherwise. I don't have to niche down. I can…
You want a journaling habit, but journaling requires thinking. Thinking is hard work. You are wrong if you think creating a journaling habit requires deep thinking. Don't overthink what you write when you journal. You journal for yourself. No one else will read what you write. Journaling is getting your thoughts on…
You are a portrait of everyone you've ever loved. An incomplete puzzle, collecting pieces along the way. You are a window of stained glass carefully being put together piece by lonely piece. A whimsical collage collected from the pages of people's lives. You are tapestry woven with the threads of a million moments.…
This morning I went on a walk, the first walk of hopefully many. I've always used my own two legs as main mode of transportation. Whenever I would read about walking as part of one's practice, I would think something like: 'I don't need that, I already walk everywhere!' But yesterday it hit me: I walk, I move my legs,…
"Use a picture. It's worth a thousand words." - Arthur Brisbane, at the Syracuse Advertising Men's Club in 1911. You've heard this phrase as, "a picture is worth a thousand words". Pictures can be used to enhance the journal visually. When writing your thoughts, you must use words. It's not necessary to write long…
Ask me a question ('reply privately' at the bottom of this post) How can I hold the tide in my hands? Should I try? (Oct 25th, 2026) You're (probably) way too small to hold the tide, but it can hold you. And when we hold each other it's really important not to get too caught up in who's doing the holding. It's okay to…
Questioning the notion of free will seems to be in fashion nowadays. So what is this idea of "free will?" I think a lot of us have an intuitive sense of what it is. It's the idea that our personal sense of agency or identity is what originates our actions. Who does what we do? Well, we do. If you're out for a walk…
I’ve started making memes with pictures of my cat. One is of me kissing him with the words “to hold thee lightly on a gentle knee, and print on thy soft cheek a parent’s kiss” flanking the picture, and a little slanted note of “my little Lolita” where his collar would be. Perhaps it is my unrequited pleasures in…
My girlfriends laughed when they wondered out loud if I wrote about them in my journal. Journals conjure up images of teenage girls' diaries under lock and key. Of course, they were curious. They saw me writing each morning of our getaway trip. What juicy details were included in my daily writings? Until then, I…
Imagine as KB said - what if you live life regretting that you could've done more I always imagined if I was like what I was when I study for exams. On the last day. Or the last hour. The hormones or the awareness just made me increase my capabilities by 1000%. But I was a 10% prior to that last hour. Imagined that.…
The word 'green' or 'sustainable' has no clear definition in most contexts let alone in the construction industry. Outside of complex certification criteria set by bodies such as LEED internationally or the Green Building Council in India, there is no shared understanding of what makes a building green. I wanted to…
You close your eyes it's silent Your mind is filled by a scenario you saw in a documentary. 30 seconds later you're trying to solve a problem. And BOOM! It clicks. You found a solution. You're in love with the new idea. You feel like a genius. I know. It feels good! Is this really the best way to get new ideas? Or…
the idea of inbox zero is enough to make my head spin. to be honest, I've felt this way for a while, but being available has always felt like one of my biggest strengths, so I've tried to put my head down and persevere. the problem is the demand never stops. and the more you take on, the less boundaries you set, the…
“My advice: get paid, do work you’re proud of if that matters to you, then focus on building culture in your community, your friend group, your church, whatever it is that gives you meaning. Work will never be that for you.” Source: https://buttondown.email/justinpot/archive/build-community-outside-of-work/ Me: nods…
Walks might be considered inefficient, but for me, they are worth every minute. I enjoy walks—they slow me down and allows me to take things at my own pace. During these moments, I like to take time to reflect on my day, either planning ahead or recapping how things went. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on other…
The day your parents come Is the day you test your emotional intelligence Remember it’s not always what you want It’s doing what THEY WANT Give it all up and relax for these 3 days You used to always feeling not confident Is the result of your 4 years experience in uni You have your decision to choose You can…
when it feels like it’s not going to work out when you think you’ve exhausted all your options when it feels like the end of the road you have a decision to make keep going or move on but no matter what choice you make you’ve gotta remember this none of it was a waste of energy there’s a lesson in everything you did…
Wife, after sharing second thoughts about starting a new job: "Do you think they're the kind of people who would hire a woman just because she's a woman?" Me: "Wondering whether you're the benefactor of affirmative action feels kind of gross, doesn't it?" Wife: "Ugh" I should note that the Hebrew term for that…
the problem with creative writing is that it messes with your "serious" writing. when you're in creative mode, you can do whatever you want. there are no rules. you can get away with a hand-wavy explanation of something under the guise of being an artist or whatever. it's not that creative writing doesn't have well…
Imagine if the earliest explorers were asked to create an itinerary before they set out to travel. Absurd, right? But that has completely changed for the rest of us. We travel after meticulous planning. In fact, our planning is so meticulous there is a whole industry around curating trips. Travel influencers are a…
