Are your ideas better when you meditate?
You close your eyes
it's silent
Your mind is filled by a scenario you saw in a documentary.
30 seconds later you're trying to solve a problem.
And BOOM!
It clicks.
You found a solution.
You're in love with the new idea.
You feel like a genius. I know. It feels good!
Is this really the best way to get new ideas?
Or should you just spend your time brainstorming instead?
Set a timer, dump the content of your mind on a paper.
You know the drill.
So what's the difference between meditation ideas and brainstorm ideas?
In my experience it's this:
Meditation ideas are easier to fall in love with.
When meditating you don't aim for quantity.
This means you take your time.
Your mind is silent.
Your see all the connections.
All the opportunities.
You keep exploring the idea.
You fall in love with the idea.
Love can deceive you.
Love can guide you.
Love can motivate.
Love is a massive source of motivation and energy.
Turning your idea into action requires love.
Maybe you're meditation idea isn't good.
Maybe the brainstorm idea was better.
But you've fallen in love with your meditation idea.
During a brainstorm session you pump out idea after idea.
There's no time to fall in love yet.
You might come back to the idea later.
It's like starting a romantic relationship with a friend.
It needs more kick.
I think that makes all the difference.
Love is a source of motivation.
Do you want to take effortless action?
Fall in love with the idea immediately.
But beware, love can make you blind.
