Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
All things and beings that exist are born from the vastness of the universe, shaped from its matter, yet we wander through life believing ourselves to be independent, everlasting souls, existing within but separate from the very cosmos from which we were created. This illusion of separatedness is the mind’s deception,…
Brands today give little credit to their customers. Failed branding and marketing efforts are often disguised under the ruse of 'fickle customer loyalty' and 'minuscule attention spans'. But the truth of it is the same customers that are scrolling right past your ad are binging 8 episodes of that Netflix show they…
I rather enjoy making my brain twist and turn, to make it work, to give it the muscle shock, and say: "Hey! Dummy! Wake up! It's time for you to get back to growing." Off the top of my head, I would say learning a new language, learning bridge or chess, and now, playing the piano. As a creature of habit, and shallow…
Twitter is terrible, as are all other algorithmic feed social networks. I want the fun of early twitter and livejournal back.
today is the day to take action, screw any excuse..no more excuses. Time to lock in and make my dreams my reality meaning eating healthy going to bed at a decent time and working out. . . i am self aware that i will struggle and its going to be hard but not impossible and i'm committing myself to write about my daily…
Today, when even the worst SM content format ever created (Reels/Shorts) tries to be "informative", its clear that we are living in the age of huge information excess. It is made worse by the "good intention" of continuously learning. So, we have access to limitless information and we consume a lot of it because of…
It’s not how smart the guy is But how passionate he is towards each thing, how interested and motivated based on his own desire That is why you do not simply let yourself tear and wear away given what life has thrown to you People has it even far more worse To operate based on pain rather than joy Is harder to…
There is something strangely tender about being alive at the same time as everything else. About breathing while cities hum, seasons turn, people fall in and out of love, and the world continues without asking how you’re doing. We spend so much time believing we should have arrived somewhere by now. As though there is…
Back from spending time with "family" - not blood, but "adopted". had to drag myself out a bit to get there, but had a thoroughly good time with them, some of whom I hadn't seen in person for several years. It can be nice to have non-family family around. No word from my buddy, but then again, for all his faults and…
ahh reflecting on the most recent photographs from James Webb Space Telescope published by NASA provides a unique sense of scale to our existence. we are so small! but there is one thing that may be more expansive that our universe. the collective creativity of humanity is forever expanding at an increasing pace. i…
In LYT, a question posed was exploring whether folks lack interest in publishing. Part of the context was one's possible tendency to focus too much on expressing one's self to one's self. Here's my abridged/edited response. I don't know if there is a right or wrong approach about one's publishing process. I face a…
Hello Everybody 👋, I am Shubham and I am new to this new platform and with its first impression, I loved the look and feel of it ! I have always liked nicheless blogging because when you are interested in lot of things and want to say a lot we spend more time categorizing rather than actually telling the story. Going…
The Greeks believed art was created where the gods Apollo and Dionysus come together. Where rationality and irrationality merge. I believe they can teach us a lot about self discipline. How? listen up. Since the beginning of modern philosophy our culture has put rationality on a pedestal. Thinking we could conquer any…
Know the workings of the system. Think about - deep dive into internal work on yourself. People leave you again and again and again. Is it your immaturity to actually think it’s their fault? It’s so normal for people to leave for their own goods. You must be mature if you don’t have the power or influence on their…
- a way to receive money - a portfolio (Zapper) - your identity (ENS) - an access key (to discords and events) - a treasury account (for DAOs) - an investment club (by Syndicate) - your reputation (6529) - your verifiable track record (trading history) - an art collection (with NFTs) - an email/chat account (via…
Giving me those 2008-2009 vibes. All these new places on the internet to say stuff and see said stuff. Who owns this? And when will they start selling ads? The Deck was peak ads. I miss 43things.
"If you are so bothered with it all, why don't you do something?" My friend's voice is etched within me. These words remain central to my last Acid trip, 4 years ago. I have been doing something about it. For 1460 days now. I left my job, started building. There is a lot wrong with our world, if not 80% of us would…
Do your habits serve you? They should. Any habit you keep needs to serve you as long as you keep it. It only makes sense that your habits will change as your needs change. My journey with journaling is an example of this. My journaling has come a long way in 18 months. I started journaling three simple sentences of…
The only thing that bores me more than my opinion is yours. I haven't heard a new take or a hot take in more than 20 years. Most of my takes are bargain basement off the shelf opinions that I hold true -- I think? -- not because I believe them but because of some delusional image I have of myself. I am not the only…
if i wanted to lie to you, i'd say the storm inside you will settle. it will not. see the thing no one tells us about storms is that they're not meant to destroy. i think a storm was a child whose mother never held his hand when he was scared. or maybe the storm didn't know how to tell his mother that he was scared.…
Since the beginning of the web, people have been making personal websites. But when someone makes a personal website, it is forever an exhibition to the public and cannot truly be a private, authentic space. Recently, the concept of a “digital garden” has become popular. It’s like a personal website but welcomes a…
I had been thinking about writing this series for a long time, but I just would not manage to find the time to finally sit down and pen my thoughts. I think the procrastination was probably due to being in a constant state of extremes - either of hyper anxiety due to workload, or absolute boredom and laziness due to…
we have to realise that us staying with big tech social media is like a double-bind. We do it to stay connected to everyone - which is what most people do - or to reach many people - whilst our bubbles are negotiated by their owners, market logics and power games - power games that are entangled with the global arms…
As a child born in the 70s, along with other Gen X's, we all grew up without social media. In 1984, I remember watching the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games which was being telecast from Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Swamy, our lovely neighbours on the 2nd floor had invited all the children in the apartment complex…
I’m living on an island close enough to a town. While I’m living with my parents, I’ve also lived with my friends all day. I’m active and love to swim. Challenging myself to do a task takes effort but I’m able to do it. I took up surfing one summer and that has been my identity now. I am not a sports person but I can…
my heart just skipped a beat i noticed that you can only tell in hindsight who you really loved for me, one of my true loves in life was my friend danny we used to listen to music together and talk about philosophy i just found danny on my old spotify account; he follows me there i want so badly to message him but…
I realized I’m not a social creature with moments of solitude, I’m a solitary being with social contact. But I miss people I’ve lost contact with. Perhaps because goodbye is the de facto way now, I experience it too much.
My girlfriends laughed when they wondered out loud if I wrote about them in my journal. Journals conjure up images of teenage girls' diaries under lock and key. Of course, they were curious. They saw me writing each morning of our getaway trip. What juicy details were included in my daily writings? Until then, I…
Exciting times! I just bought 2 holidays this weekend. In March I'm going to Cyprus for one week with my two older boys. D won't be joining us - She will've just changed her job and -although they say she can work anywhere she wants- she doesn't want to test them on this yet. But I need a week in the sun every Feb/…
In a society of plenty and where civic infrastructure and day to day survival is not a challenge, we often see a culture of doing good deeds and regularly paying those good deeds forward. The reverse is generally the norm where basics are missing. Its a survival of the fittest and everyone is just trying to get…
I write software. I love software. I think software can be beautiful. So then why does it sometimes feel as though software doesn't matter? Perhaps it is because a program by itself is inert. It requires an interpreter to run. This is also true in every day life. A recipe by itself is not edible, unless it's printed…
I wish more people would admit when they don't understand something. There's a typical pattern I've observed in meetings at work where a person is trying to explain something complicated or technical. I often see the speaker periodically asking things like, "Right?" or "Get it?" and everyone just nods their head…
it was a running joke among my friends growing up that I'd come over just to be able to take a nap because that wasn't allowed at home. it wasn't all that serious, of course, but I was incredibly fortunate to have both of my parents home, all day, every day for my entire life - which meant that I wasn't often truly…
Having had a long period where I had no energy or interest in tinkering with any side-projects, the energy now seems to return. Perhaps it is a reflection of a better state of mind. Perhaps it is a reflection of winter in the Northern hemisphere and hence less daylight, but nevertheless the fact remains that I have…
After all this time,I still keep falling for you.
I missed journalling yesterday. But i do want to capture my thoughts. So here goes. I had a conversation with mummy today. I was as usual badgering her about not having confidence, not putting herself out there, etc. But after a while, i realised something that I have always known, but did not register. Mom's problem…
This is the partial title of a scientific paper that wanted to assert the main predictor of belief in astrology, the pseudoscience that saw the biggest boom (or revival) in the past decade - mainly due to social media. While for some it came as a surprise that narcissism is the biggest predictor of belief in…
A sense of assurance that eventually things will fall into place and you will be more than fine. Its a state of mind which makes you calm, happy and at complete ease. The last I felt this is when I was in Kannur, Kerala for New Years. The clean and calm beach with the shades of sky changes from orange to hot pink, the…
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh today i had an idea fade away as i tried to remember. distractions were the reason. the idea may come back and when it does, that moment is when to document it. this blog post is an attempt at reminding me of the idea. so far unsuccessfully...
Hello World. There's a few areas in my life that I'd like to grow and evolve. Recently, I've been on a personal development journey on and off for the past two years. I happened to find this site on Twitter a few days ago and I was intrigued. In this chapter of my life, I would like to document my journey along the…
I recently came home after completing college and shutting down a startup, this has given me a lot of time to reflect about the past and think about the future. A friend suggested me to let my mind wander, so i've been watching, reading and doing random stuff (as long as I enjoyed them). One of the things I recently…
3. writing -- i have so many things to say and no one to say them to, so i write. i say i have no one to talk to not because i literally have no friends or acquaintances but because when talking, one needs to consider the interests of one's conversation partner, and it is exhausting to limit oneself to topics which…
and it pains me not to know whose orgasm i came from. Everybody makes babies about moms. But everybody’s born from their dad’s orgasm. It’s almost like as a society we were meant to make numerical decisions. If you ask one person to guess the number of jelly beans in the jar, they will likely get it wrong. But if you…
Things I am angry with Nelson for, (Regardless of whether Nelson intended to make me feel this way or not, the impact was there): 1. Making me lose confidence in myself and what I think is right. This is a power he continues to hold over me. He needs only to disagree with me about something and I begin feeling like I…
It’s because everyone has their own set of mind And most times high level individual are usually very self aware - You gotta be stronger and more attractive The way you do things etc Don’t 后知后觉 when you think of something think it to the end. Whatever you do Of course it’s better to JUST DO Though you could’ve done…
The idea is pretty interesting. I always loved to do some similar thing as my personal blog. Though may I do so, since Nicheless is a micro-blogging platform. The best things about Nicheless in my opinion are its neat UI design, simple white theme by default and suckless UX as a blogging platform. The lack of "numbers…
Modern life makes us hyperfixated on the destination. Get into a top college, get a job by 22, marry by 30 etc etc. Drilling into our heads that the destination is what it is, whereas if you take a step back, you'll realise that destination is largely irrelevant except for a specific reason, the destination helps us…
