on being at peace with yourself
if i wanted to lie to you, i'd say the storm inside you will settle.
it will not.
see the thing no one tells us about storms is that they're not meant to destroy.
i think a storm was a child whose mother never held his hand when he was scared. or maybe the storm didn't know how to tell his mother that he was scared.
the fear became so loud that storm felt like he would crumble. he shivered and fell to his knees.
he looked up to see if mum was around, she wasn't.
so storm decided that he will never want to need someone to save him.
even storm was scared of himself. but no one would dare to come close.
his own mother, was afraid of what he was capable of.
so storm left.
years and years he's been spending to find someone who loved him for who he was.
he travelled far and wide, angry and hurt and alone.
and one day, something ran through him. storm felt a wave of aliveness.
it was lightening.
so you see, the storm inside you isn't trying to kill you. it's trying to save you. from the mercilessness of the universe.
you are not meant to be at peace with yourself. they're selling you lies.
you are meant to rage. and to look where no one dares to look.
you are meant to seek lightening. hell, even become it.
genius is not born in quiet.
it's the child of chaos.
you can either run from it or embrace it. but you sure as hell cannot be free from it.
i imagine myself to be a writer. old wrinkly hands, and my children crying at the poems i wrote.
pain, unleashed, is the real becoming.
