Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
The doors open wide And you see the light Finally after a long long time And your heart rejoices In glee and delight It dances to songs that it never had the ability to hear before And now it has forgotten the pain Of the chains That bound it from becoming Who it was always anyways It danced and danced As if there was…
The ultimate sin on Wikipedia is original research. You know, cranks adding lengthy conspiracy diatribes to what was a perfectly reasonable article. Banning original research is a convenient way to shut these people down. Now all you have to do is say 'where's your source?' Unluckily for us, you can fall foul of this…
Teaches you that: you can get whatever you want to get by just focusing on it Focus on the "CAN GET" rather than the stagnant "WHAT IFS" - "WHY DO I WANT TO DO" Say NOO to negative thoughts - JUST DO IT And move on with life. Because they are so many aspects of life & You gotta do well in everyone of it. Remember the…
Have you ever scrolled through your past writings or posts online and had a feeling of cringe. That can't be me, What a stupid I was ! I am sure you have, at some point. In part, this is explained by a phenomenon called Denning - Kruger effect. The less you know about something, the more likely you are to not know…
Worry globally, neglect locally.
India or Netherlands? Business or job? Self-made or ovarian lottery? There is no right or wrong. There are nuances to this question. M tells me to have an honest chat with my parents. She may be right. Sometimes, we make things up in our minds. Those thoughts reflect in our behaviour. That behaviour then attracts…
… and break it down. Will they make their bed Will they lay for 15 more minutes and be late What do they know The things they know and don’t - and how they act to get those information How they work around with people
Hoje "tropecei" na internet com um poema que eu adoro, "Do not go gentle into that good night", do Dylan Thomas. Quem assistiu Interestelar deve lembrar que o poema é mencionado várias vezes durante o filme. Na tradução de Augusto de Campos (um trechinho): "Não vás tão docilmente nessa noite linda; Que a velhice arda…
Since 2016, or even earlier before Apple introduced just a tab in App Store for Games. I have argued Apple should separate their App Store and Game Store. By continue charging 30% for Games, and rethink the whole model for App Store, they would not have been end up like they are today. Resentment from developers.…
I'm sitting here in Rome, within spitting distance from the Arch of Titus, which commemorates the sacking of Jerusalem two thousand years ago. I'm sitting here, as a Jew, thinking to myself, well, they must've really thought something of the Jews then, to have built themselves an arch commemorating the destruction of…
Problem: One of the biggest issues for the new internet of Web3 and the Metaverse is how we 'own' virtual assets. We've seen it already with NFTs: "So what if you own it? I can right click to own it too" Copying the image gives you exactly the same object the owner has, with exactly the same utility. Now imagine…
When we spotted her garden from far away we were theorising on what could be growing. One of her family members spotted us leaf and drain inspectors. They rolled their eyes and made way for Ajita kakima to take charge. The matriarch introduced all the trees like her old friends. There was jamun, mango, banana,…
Hoje eu voltei a trabalhar. Bom ter rotina, sou grata. Em meio às notícias de invasão da Venezuela e sequestro do Maduro, fiquei apreensiva, mas tem coisas que só esperar pra ver. Outras, que nem vendo a gente acredita. Flashbacks do Iraque inundaram meus pensamentos. Gritos internos pedindo para que alguém com mais…
Ask more, tell less.
Recipe: lots of awareness and curiosity on how your backside contributes to your movement, a bit of tension in your lower abs, lots of micro exercises to train your mind, and a couple medium-hard workouts. Took 2-3 weeks, not much time every day. Result: My body feels more alive, my back hurts less. This morning it…

But this is what an ideal would look like for me. For work, I'm still…
I vividly remember my mother's outburst in the summer of 2013 when I ran away from a Bangalore internship within five days of joining. She was angry at my incompetency to stick to a job. She compared me to neighbours who settled in soulless jobs. Her disbelief in my post-graduate design education fueled my own anger.…
Take a new leap of faith Read the book Go to events Go to sports meet new people Travel the world for half a year Talk to people you wanted to talk to Listen to podcast Ask for a raise Don’t escape from the hard things in life by short term dopamines (insta, fb, YouTube, dinner, sleep, etc…) Put your mind in it Put an…
I recently started playing Dungeons & Dragons again after about 25 years. I used to play it as a kid, but now that I’ve picked it up again as adult, I’m with the idea that you can sit around and talk, yet this structured, elaborate immersive experience unfolds. Now we have a regular tuesday game online, and a one or…
Love, first thing that pops into someone’s mind when they hear it could be couples kissing or wtv. But it could be in different ways, platonically and romantically. A lot of people crave it, even if they don’t wanna say it out loud but they’re begging for it. Some can’t accept it, could because of some trauma they…
It is a fact of civilized life that there exist rules which govern and constrain individual behavior. You can't steal your neighbor's car because you don't have one, or because his is faster. Regardless of one's moral philosophical framework, just about everyone agrees on that. We tend to put the people who don't in…
But it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t achieve happiness while striving for something that is so meaningless Sometimes I can’t help to wonder but it’s not too convenient To meet you at a fate To wake up at dreams that are not not supposed to end And the alarm goes off to wake me to reality I miss her but I should not…
It frustrates me to watch debates that descend into whataboutery. And if images speak louder than words, I hope the one above manages to drown out a bunch of pointless arguments. --- Whataboutery is a tactic used by people who know exactly what they're doing – intentionally distorting the public's perception of…
It's the fourth quarter of 2023, and I chose to replenish my 6-month undated Roterunner planner - https://roterunner.com/products/purpose-planner - partly out of convenience, partly out of utility. Meanwhile, here's a list of planners which folks have shared -…
Welcome Back Folks, For those who don't know me I am a lawyer and today's post is all about the systems of law- The Civil & Common and the empires that propounded them. Law in the most simple terms is a set of rules. The world as we know it majorly follows two systems of law i.e. the Civil and Common law systems.…
Dear Habibti, Nobody knows tomorrow. We might get back together, or we might not. We might get married, or we might not. But I just want you to know that I have never felt the kind of oneness I felt with you with anyone before. You are special to me. I love you and I always will.
When we think of the word "slavery," defined as a system of relations in which individuals are compelled to perform labor, it is reasonable to define the inverse as the absence of compulsion. The word most associated with such a situation is "freedom." Closely related but with a more political connotation is the word…
We hadn't formally launched Trilegal yet when my friend Vinay, who was with a law firm in London, called. It was early March 2000. Him: "Have you guys opened for business yet?" Me: "Why do you ask?" Him: "Because I have a deal for you." Me, struggling to hide excitement: "Well yes, then we're open." This was a…
If God really loved us, would He make us make coffee before we’ve had coffee?
I started writing around 2016. So its been about 6 years now, roughly. I started writing when I was a frustrated, depressed and angry college student. Writing saved me. If I hadn't put pen to paper, I don't know what would have happened to me. It feels like I am in a similar place in life now. Where I feel the need to…
First draft: 4m50s; final draft: 16m50s Well, first let me say that I have been remote working for about 15 years off and on. Before it was cool and well before folks had the opportunity to do it for their full time job, I had the luxury of working remote from Hawaii, Los Angeles, etc. When I decided to get a full…
My parents video call me everyday. It could sound like I am complaining but that's not it. I like that they do. Most days I do pick up the call regardless of if I am out, at a party or at a friend's place. Usually, the conversation goes as follows- where are you (when I'm out) did you eat? what's happening? what else…
Flashes of creativity appear in the blank spaces on my calendar. In the shower. On a walk. While driving. They seem to bubble up from my subconscious without any prodding. And the more I look for them, the less they appear. They usually aren't original thoughts. Instead, they're mixtures of ideas from elsewhere.…
I find myself mindlessly following small details around stuff I have no interest in, hour after hour, achieving nothing. It's not just me. We are all flooding our systems with more irrelevant information than ever before, and the more there is the less we can focus on any one piece. This increase in the volume of…
Do you lie awake at night thinking of all the bad stuff happening in your life? Everyone’s brain is wired for a negative bias. We talk about the negative more. We remember the negative first. We all go through negative experiences. Their sources come from emotions, poor decisions, and mistakes. Some of these…
8 out of 10 people hate their jobs; If you love what you do daily, you're one of the few lucky people. Rest all of us are like lost satellites drifting away deep in the space with no mission and no clue of why we are even doing it. Taking back the control of your life into your own hands is not as easy as people talk…

My grandfather's 66th death anniversary was a few days ago. My sister and I never met him, but we join our mother in lighting a small lamp in his memory. A recurring thought on death and bereavement came to mind, perhaps a truism for anyone who has experienced deep personal loss. No matter how empathetic a person you…
The Hidden Costs of Too Many Choices An abundance of choice can seem like a luxury, but it often undermines our happiness. It might sound counterintuitive, but having too many options can be paralyzing and even make us miserable. Think about it: life was simpler for our great grandparents, who lived in close-knit…
“When the time comes for you to die, I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you, and I will establish his kingdom. He will build a house for my name, and I will make his dynasty permanent.” 2Samuel 7.12-13. God blesses those who serve and reverence him, as he did David, but he thinks far…
Of course it's been pointed out with increasing frequency of late, but I believe it bears repeating. This addiction to seeking out the comfort of the likeminded to the exclusivity of all others and recoiling from the sheer audacity of differently-minded people to exist cannot possibly lead to anything good in the long…
Modern music is sampled at around 48kHz, 24-bit depth, stereo (left/right channels), and songs on average are about 5 minutes. Which begs the question: “Just how many five-minute-songs can there really be?” The average song, ignoring compression, assuming above parameters, requires about 700M bits:…
Yesterday I‘ve finished a first draft of my thesis. Today I spent the day fine-tuning it. Once again I noticed how much more I like the process of bringing something from 50 to 100 percent, vs. starting from scratch and creating a first version. I am definitely better at perfecting, fine-tuning and finishing. If I…
somewhere between platonic and romantic there is you & me. i don't see your eyes when the lights are off. take my hand-- we dance. romance?
For the past few years, I spend my time working in an ecosystem where colleagues, clients, and donors share concern to bring impactful solutions to improve the life of people who are often excluded socially and economically. We talk about low income segment who earn less, who rely on cash because she/he does not have…
Since 2020, I had been on a steady tech detox, a la Cal Newport. I switchd to DuckDuckGo, I traded my android for a feature phone, I started writing notes by hand. And in cursive! It was beautiful, I was present. No "Power of Now" needed. I could take my kids to the playground and be perfectly happy with my face in…
When studying something Im not particularly a fan of I just eat, not because of hunger, but because of the necessity to stay awake. This happens even if I try all the tips and tricks from studying with other people, taking breaks, sitting in the right positions, making it interactive... my eyes just close. Starting to…
I had the privilege of a very long talk with my skip boss. What started off with niceties about skiing quickly moved to discussing a major problem at work. Earlier this week we discovered a necessary change to the database required to move forward with what had been a trivial value-add in our app. The change required…
