Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Urmi came to Vizag to meet Venky and I. We have talked so much that we have completely exhausted ourselves. It’s fun and nice though. I really like the conversations we can have. I know this may not be a group that meets often, but I hope we’ll meet at least some times. Few important takeaways: The 2 components of a…
We're all busy beings. Gotta do this. Gonna make that. Stuff on my plate. Things on my list. Then there's the stuff we want to do but can't seem to get together. A little more movement. Deeper sleep. Sorting that room out in the back. Putting some time into the garden. Finishing that book. All the shoulds. Languishing…
Because you been with too many toxic friends/relationships And they literally took your heart out You been putting in too many emotions you didn’t take care of yourself And that’s why now you don’t long for love or relationships You are a highly aware human being Not sure whether external therapy works for you but…
The moments of feeling anxious or a negative thought entering the mind are few and far in between now. They exist, I just need the time to summon them and they'll be prompt in their arrival. There's something that stops me from summoning them or engaging for too long with these thoughts. I don't think there is…
hoping for a universal salvation. hoping that up and above, his mercy is so immense, that though every human soul, when even when they repent, is forgiven and chooses salvation. yet when every human soul is forgiven, teachings are useless and what they preach is disregarded as every sin is still forgiven, no matter…
Short one today. Got stuff somewhat ready for tomorrow. Invited some coworkers over for a hangout after work. First time inviting people over to my place. Was trying to print and post some photos that I took as wall decorations. Almost end of the week. One more thing: I think I may want to try and make this a photo…
Guy who wears suit Or try to impress everyone everyday at uni Thinking of life What did they turn out to be? Did they follow the system or they started something else for themselves as well? Do I actually want to just show my face to work? Ideas are forged - not created. Work on it and start day by day - and you…
Meu amor deu…
Crowds are scary when you're in them. I love watching crowds from afar. Trying to track one single person through this swarm is some form of amusement I enjoy. It gives me the same rush as I imagine someone who enjoys doing crosswords would chase. I used to do this with ants too. When I was a kid and banned from…
I started fruit farming a year ago in Lamjung, located in central Nepal. Aim is to reach 100,000 fruit trees. Currently I am at 3000. Biggest challenge facing so far is getting right saplings. Now making nursery to grow my own saplings. Its amazing here. Peace, quite and all forested area. Right on the road, but very…
Omfg, seems like something big is happening in La Paz City. === anon8858 I’m still recovering from the shock of the assassination attempt on General Rodriguez. I was there covering the General’s speech for El Subsuelo. This is the most disturbing scene I’ve ever witnessed. The General was arriving at the stage when a…
i have heard a lot of conversations attempt to define an NFT era in art as it occurs. the thing is, art eras are rarely defined at their current time. but for the sake of conversation an NFT could be seen as post-post-modern art where a standard is starting to emerge in the format is it created and the exploration of…
Modern life makes us hyperfixated on the destination. Get into a top college, get a job by 22, marry by 30 etc etc. Drilling into our heads that the destination is what it is, whereas if you take a step back, you'll realise that destination is largely irrelevant except for a specific reason, the destination helps us…
Fome…
My parents and I went to England in the summer of 1972, by which time my Dad had ensured that I was already cricket mad, like any good Indian boy should be. India had just won Test series in both the West Indies and in England for the first time and Sunil Gavaskar had entered my personal pantheon of Hindu gods. Dad…
There is something fascinating about eating a ''foreign'' food. A food that we have not eaten growing up, and then when we discover or eat it for the first time, the entire experience is mysterious! Since we really don't know what it was supposed to taste like, we have an open mind in wanting to learn more about it.…
First day of my break. I quit my wonderful job in Fin-Tech a few months back and have finally transitioned out of all my responsibilities. I woke up this morning with a smile on my face. So grateful that I can afford this, that I have savings enough to not be anxious about this break. Despite that, I do get a little…
Hoje…
This isn't the first time I am attempting to maintain a streak. I've done it before. In 2019, I kept a diary and wrote a line or two about each day of the year. Sometimes it would be detailed, while at others, not so much. In 2018, I started doing the daily house chores with full intention. I would help at home as…
I wanna understand people. I wanna feel their words. And I wanna send a little noise into their heart. I wanna have a home in their heart. Is that too much? I don't think so.
Today was tough. But here I am, staying true to the promise I made to myself – to write and publish something new at least five times a week. Problem is I don't have anything to write about. The goal was to read, learn, and write about the difference between Aetiology vs Teleology. But anxiety had different plans.…
I'm almost 51 and my body has taken this fifth decade to declare that it requires attention, consistent healthy habits and quite possibly some medication to prop up the system.
1. my morning walk on the street curved along the beach 2. books. im currently reading "muhammad" (a historical biography; i'm trying to read a historical biography of the "founders" or figureheads of every major religion...so far i've read about jesus and there was not much information to satisfy but this specific…
As a beginner, you need effortless to build a habit. There’s only one way to make daily journaling effortless. Before you journal, follow this two-step process, prep the stage and prep the page. These steps take a few minutes. 1.) Prep the stage As a beginning journaler, it’s important to prep your space ahead of your…
I haven't published a writing in some time even though I started a blog post about the struggles with my wife. I have been distracting myself with my hobbies and social events and she needs me at home, or rather, present, since I am always at home. I have taken a break from learning the piano, in practice. I was…
posts in the discover tab only shows posts from 2022, wonder if this platform is still active.
I wish more people would admit when they don't understand something. There's a typical pattern I've observed in meetings at work where a person is trying to explain something complicated or technical. I often see the speaker periodically asking things like, "Right?" or "Get it?" and everyone just nods their head…
Ontem eu dormi a tarde, hoje vou dormir…
What if augmented reality (AR) went beyond simply projecting (virtual, simplified) models of objects into our existing world? AR should be a true expansion of our sensory inputs, enhancing how we experience reality. Scientific instruments already achieve this by allowing us to perceive phenomena beyond our natural…
perhaps we blog for the same reason we do work/read in coffeeshops we want to feel amongst others even in our solitude i wonder if anyone has ever met anyone in a coffee shop and become best friends
I used to be a man who wanted to go into women's toilets. This wasn't a gender identity issue and I'm not a pervert. This had to do with the fact that I am the father of four daughters, who were once small girls. The default position on fathers taking their daughters to a public toilet is that they should go together…
In 30 min more I'm going to a volleyball training, I know no one, I have realized that if a know someone even if I know them only online, not even in person, I have no anxiety when going to social gatherings. When I don't no anyone at all its a completely different story, I start to question if I should go or not, my…
I am reading a book called as Range by David Epstein. The book is about how being a generalist will help someone to navigate this world where all things are mostly specialized. Tiger Woods started learning golf when he was 4. He knew he enjoyed it and he knew he wanted to be great at it. He engaged in "deliberate…
There are almost no obese people in Copenhagen. Most people are obese in Lexington, Kentucky. It is not that people in Lexington are lazier or dumber or more morally flawed than people in Copenhagen. In Lexington, you can't walk anywhere and it's really hard to buy decent food. In Copenhagen, it's hard to buy shitty…
This is my first writing piece, thank God it doesn't need to fit in a niche XD. What will my niche be as I travel down this path of a writer, sharing my thoughts and the lessons I learn along my journey in the hopes that it helps the other souls out here. I will try write something here weekly, just because, as my…
Keeping a gratitude journal changed me from a non-believer to a believer. Gratitude became a habit - an essential part of my morning routine. I was always optimistic, but I started feeling happier. I developed a mindset of gratitude. Gratitude made me look for the good in my life. Looking for good led me to…
I have wanted to pursue a Master's degree for well over a year now. The desire to do so has been all-consuming and if I'm being honest, exhausting. I find myself struggling to write the essays, and more particularly, the infamous statement of purpose. It's not that I can't find purpose. It is that I do not know how to…
In what world are we living, where instead of being present in our environment, we are looking at ourselves through our phone screens? Yesterday, I saw an amazing sunset in its different stages: peaking through the clouds, reflecting in the water and creating a golden path, and then fading into a soft afterglow. I…
Two weeks of grieving and feeling like a zombie walking through time and space. Trying to slowly get back to my normal self but, still its WIP. I feel looking back, this heartbreak was very necessary. Shows that I did end up being needy at the end of the day but I had a lot on my plate as well. Makes sense to not be…
The internet has given rise to a new genre of humorous content and I personally love it! The ones I find particularly amusing are around wine and comparing it to life. ''Yoga Class? I thought you said Pour a Glass''. You get the drift. When did wine become such an ubiquitous part of corporate lore? I for one of course…
No better feeling than new tools day. Find a spot for it to live, maybe do the job you bought it for, then put it away to rest, making sure not to disturb it too much. No. Use your tools. Tools are mean to be used. If you don't use them, you deprive them of their purpose in life. Use your iPhone, get it sandy. Use…
Pre-reqs you might want to grok this post: An understanding of IFS-style parts, and of how stopping resisting emotions can let them flourish and give you more freedom. —— I recently found a new emotional processing technique that has been really helpful. When I’m feeling an intense emotion, I consider that emotion to…
So I happened upon marketing by accident. I began my career as a psychological researcher. I was in charge of putting out flyers to attract people with major depressive disorder to a study where they could receive free treatment. One day, I was instructed to put fliers in doctor's office waiting rooms, cars in parking…
Enfim, seguimos.…
