My Wine Journey and memes
The internet has given rise to a new genre of humorous content and I personally love it! The ones I find particularly amusing are around wine and comparing it to life. ''Yoga Class? I thought you said Pour a Glass''. You get the drift.

There is something quite magical about one's foray into alcohol as a young person (all of 21 to be precise) by drinking California wines. Once you've tasted the good stuff, the palette continues to raise it's bar for wanting smoother, better, cleaner with a gorgeous nose.
Then a few years later, a cross country move to New York opens up the possibilities of European wines in addition to the already established California ones.
Honestly everything else pales in comparison. There is something about the ease of opening a bottle of red on a cool winter evening, and sipping away while enjoying a leisurely meal at home.
Or the excitement of taking a bottle of champagne to a loved ones house for a celebratory brunch!
Then the wonderful decision about deciding the type of glass, the correct pour and whether it was stored at the right temperature. Of course, many of us continue to feel the need to elevate the entire discussion to a point needing deep dissertations, almost PhD level work.
That's what gives rise to wine dinners. Groups of people from all backgrounds, sitting around a table to go through a three to seven course meal, interspersed with some delicious wines from all across the world.
As I write this piece on Bastille Day, I remain in such awe about what the French established as part of their culture. A deep appreciation for fine wine!
