Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
🌊 Stay for 5 minutes more - discuss about aluminium frame? Think of organising Wall Setting Out Review? Talk to WC - it’s a good way to show face to face? Text is always easy and lazy. Putting in efforts and initiative is sometimes more important - think about the game - the more you play the better you get at it…
There were two doors. Not identical. No, that would have been easier. One was familiar, worn at the edges, its handle shaped by years of use. The other stood newer, not inviting exactly, but deliberate. It suggested movement, not comfort. He had the key to neither. That was the first mistake people make when they…
I expect that someone in my family will be on Mars in the next 10 generations. After all, I'm part of a tribe that travels. My ancestors were constantly on the road, exploring opportunities for their next generation and the ones that come after. It's baked into my genes. But it presents a conundrum. What mindset,…
Is by putting the first focus towards the other party Genuinely interested in what she is saying And reply to that sentence “Hahaha is that why you put Bryan beside my seat” That’s a sign of intelligence. A social intelligence Because you’re relating HER in the picture Not at all YOU She talks you relate HERS So is…
This day was one of those days that looks like the beginning of the end for remote work. The day started off with our retro. And while there were 10 people in the "room", no one added anything to the virtual retro board. Now frankly, I could give a shit about which rituals we employ to book-end our sprints, whether we…
There's a sickening feeling of being surrounded by darkness. What feels like an everlasting doom consuming your peripherals. You're trapped, maybe not physically, but mentally, or both. If, one stands in place, that place becomes your home. A home that echoes into the voids of your mind driving you insane. The purpose…
Let me first explain describe the situation - I have plans and things I want to do, they are not that hard to do but for some reason, I just cannot take the first step. Laziness, procrastination, being too comfortable, lack of desire of doing the thing that I thought I wanted, burnout, lack of discipline - the actual…
After mulling it over for a couple of weeks, I made the change. I gave writers the option of adding a single image at the start of every Nicheless post. I'm not confident that it's the right move, but I'm eager to find out. If you're a writer here, I owe you an explanation. That's what this post is for. Firstly, let…
In the wake of the implosion of Twitter, and owing to a long simmering disillusionment in the major social media platforms, I have been actively checking out new communities online. One such community that came to my attention via Hacker News is Nicheless. Thus far I have not dug too deep into it. I like the UI. I…
I was talking to someone I care for deeply. They didn’t see the need to write or journal. There is so much already out there to read. Why would they write? Who would read it? They don’t see what I do. You journal for the benefits. The benefits are hard to see unless you journal enough to experience them. My friend…
A sense of assurance that eventually things will fall into place and you will be more than fine. Its a state of mind which makes you calm, happy and at complete ease. The last I felt this is when I was in Kannur, Kerala for New Years. The clean and calm beach with the shades of sky changes from orange to hot pink, the…
Elas adoram. É bom sentir…
Anytime I come across a person who lives based on streaks of achievement, I feel concerned. I've noticed this the most with regard to fitness. Gym rats is a commonly used word to highlight an individual's dogged resolve towards exercising. It is quite funny to me that it's called gym rats. I immediately think about…
India or Netherlands? Business or job? Self-made or ovarian lottery? There is no right or wrong. There are nuances to this question. M tells me to have an honest chat with my parents. She may be right. Sometimes, we make things up in our minds. Those thoughts reflect in our behaviour. That behaviour then attracts…
Phone service, internet, electricity, hot water and all these things that are used to, that we use everyday, the change of not having them from one day to another is drastic. Yesterday, a huge storm approached and I hasn’t stopped since then, it took all of those things away from my house, it was 1 am and in my mind I…
I took this picture last year as we were walking on our way to the Mukteshwar Temple in Uttrakhand. The pathway leading to the temple was full of vendors selling their farm produce. Many emphasized the fact that these products were grown organically without the use of pesticides, which was the main reason we stopped…
Today is so much more than yesterday Today made yet another tomorrow. Today can forgive Today can relive Or just love and forget all of last night's sorrow Today can be different or just another whistle, a name given to a former ride Today can be wild Today can be a lie YOU GET TO CHOOSE (you really really do) The…
Dor aguda e constante, tonturas, ardência, sensibilidades... Coisa horrenda. E sim, estou…
(literally 100 whole metric tons consisting only of $100 bills) i would: - buy forests/jungles/islands (as well as politicians) and declare these areas "protected national parks" - buy land that's currently being used for cultivating palm oil and mining lithium/etc. and reforest them, reintroduce native plants and…
Who am I? Well I'm just a kid, clueless about life and where I'm going to end up in this chaotic world. You can call me Sreeram, I sure go by many nicknames which let's not get into. What am I doing here? I don't know honestly. I guess I have a lot to say which may come in my later posts. You could say I'm more…
https://winnielim.org/journal/where-i-can-take-off-my-mask/ This one feels so like my life except I didn't have that social medium to share things up until now. Really thinking of making this place my own. Hope I can stay consistent with it.
Photography is hard, but working on this project has honestly really made it fun. Although it's taken me this long to finally have an image come out (if we can even call it that) I know I am going to enjoy this the more I shoot. Here is to more tests, fails, and successes.
"Hating myself for not going into Azuki at 8ETH last week" or something along the lines is one of the most common tweet I've been seeing over the past couple of days. Or "Sold my Azuki at 5ETH ngmi." It's easy to say this with hindsight, but in the back of my mind, I know that 90% of the people who say probably…
Sometimes I feel like I see my grandmother in your eyes. The way the soft lines across your speckled face crinkle when you laugh. How your hair reaches up to the sky like the winding branches of a tree. I think sometimes I see my grandmother in you where she is not. When your eyebrows crease and I can't tell if I had…
There’s a new post about the art drama in the region: === anon6232 I got to say, Dr. Caleb’s presentation at the Arts Symposium was surprisingly good. He is good at what he does, and he is well-intentioned. No one in our zine has denied this. At Clan•Destinos we feel it’s our obligation to point out the blind spots of…
party slut my friend and i were walking on venice beach and two guys came up to us and they were like what do you do and i'm like i'm a piano teacher and they were like holy shit we're musicians too and they showed us their music and it was legit good and i showed them my chopin nocturne op 9 no 1 and they were like…
Do music help us to form narratives in our head? Do some music make us think about conflicts while others about compassion? Do our brains have the ability to translate the signals from music into more structured words, sentences and stories? Recently I have been inspired to think and write about topics that I feel are…
I was supposed to be at the top. I spend most of my free time reading about politics, history, philosophy and economics. I live in the world of ideas. I think in terms of strategy. I want to lead. I want to tell other people who don't share my talent for strategic depth what my vision is and for them to implement it.…
Climbing up to the Himalayas. Meeting someone and that someone is YOU. Feeling delightful, joyful, and vibrant. Finally You found the real YOU.
Every time I move - be it from my study abroad in Cambridge, back to my home in Heidelberg, to my student dorm in Munich - I go through a period of adjustment. It always takes a few days to acclimate to the surroundings. The transition often feels sad when it's time to leave (just like now, standing at the Heidelberg…
Read the news about the incident in Itaewon in South Korea. Shocking event really. 156+ dead with 151+ injured. Work was productive. I can finally start working on design docs to push for ideas I’ve had. I started looking at jetbrains space, a new productivity tool. Started looking at the ActivityPub protocol. It…
In a world full of information and distractions sometimes we take for granted to look out the window, listen to our environment, and think for ourselves. Having something to say or not, sometimes we need to be an observer, and feel in some way alive, by living instead of comparing or consuming other people's lives.…
It all depends on you Never have the slavery mindset You might be smart and be good at your job But what you believed in And your guts to stay true Stay logical and see things through Do not use emotional Don’t count on motivation Use logical Count on discipline As long as you put your effort into ANYTHING Including…
You've read or heard the quote before. Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. - Albert Einstein It's a very famous one thrown around online to the point that's almost becoming a cliché. And yet... That's what many people do daily, myself included some times...…
People often say running trains the body. For me, it trains the mind. When I first started, I thought it was all about fitness, endurance, calories, pace. But after a few runs, I realized the hardest part wasn’t my lungs or my legs, it was convincing myself to keep going. Every step became a small argument between the…
I struggled with mental health issues for many, many years. They have been compounded by a stubborn insistence on "figuring it out myself." Over the last few years, I have finally started making progress, and I'm mostly healthy, happy, and more understanding. Over the last few months, I've been diving back into…
there are artists and then there are Other People and i'm having a hard time not devaluing those other people. but who are they? what do they do? what is their MO? i'm not sure how to trust them.
so i have been very lost in my mental health for the past few weeks, not getting enough meditation in, i bounced back on pornography, my workouts have been inconsistent, i am not studying enough. I feel guilty for not doing enough, always, no matter how much work i do, i just feel that i can get more of it done. I…
At the end, we all die. This is not some distant, obscure fact to be filed away in the background. The fact that you will die is here, right now. This is truth. All your sought after money, status, fame, friendship, lovers, kids. It’s all meaningless in the long run. Dust in the wind. It’s okay to be sad about it. But…
and not on a Thursday. saturday wedding. suited and booted. pastel flowers. pink tie. Then reality sinks in. The plan is not mine to make. And you’ll marry on a Thursday anyway.
Do what is right for your mental energy - preserve it. It’s what they called dopamine or shit like that - why you used to “addicted” to mindless social media and scrolling. It’s like how you are behaving yesterday when you got home and just scroll on entertainment. Subconsciously your mind and body tells you that you…
You can impose fear by not talking to anyone and people might take you seriously But the better way is to gain respect That’s the hardest To be good at your job at the same time connecting human relationship It’s hard to beat that
There are many blogs and podcasts on failure. They're by people who are successful. There are many stories of miraculous pregnancies having carried through. Women share these experiences after having gone through each long day and week of their pregnancy and share these stories in hindsight. Not many people write…
In the wild landscapes of our past, our ancestors' very survival depended on coordination, without which they couldn't hunt anything of significance. Somewhere down the line, an important thing started to happen. Men started hunting while the women began foraging, this clear cut division of roles & responsibilities…
Recently read this short story collection by Murakami and some quotes from this collection have won by heart and here they are: 1. And that span of time had created a translucent barrier between us that was hard to traverse. Even when I had to say something, the right words just wouldn’t come out. And every time I…
I don't know how to write. This is my first blog post. For months now, I have agonised over how to write, why anyone would care about my writing and what the hell I would even write about. Over those months, no content has materialised on the paper in front of me. But why wait? The truth is that nobody cares about…
Reflecting on the experiment of writing every day for more than a month, I can say that, at first, like any other challenge in life, it seemed daunting. You doubt yourself and are scared of all the "what ifs" that could happen. The first days are probably the hardest; there is a change in your life, and you're not…
