Doing what everyone does
You've read or heard the quote before.
Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.
- Albert Einstein
It's a very famous one thrown around online to the point that's almost becoming a cliché.
And yet...
That's what many people do daily, myself included some times...
The hard part is figuring that out early on when not so much time has passed.
That's why a great deal of self-reflection and self-awareness is not only good to have but Crucial.
Like learning from the mistakes of others is a rare trait. But having the enough awareness to realize one's mistakes without getting defensive or doing any mental gymnastics to avoid the discomfort.
Boy, that's some next level stuff.
We're not even talking about the 1% here. It's more like the 0.1% or something.
Of more than 7 billion people currently living in this planet earth.
There's a minuscule amount of people at that level.
And like I was talking with someone the other day...
This is not about being able to do that once or twice. I mean that's easy. But this is not high-school quiz that you can pass once and never have to take it again.
In real life, the true measure of competence is being able to pass those "tests" over and over and over again no problem.
Like if it's something you do daily like brushing your teeth or tying your shoes.
That's the level of competence that I aspire to be at.
And will keep working every year of my life to achieve.
