Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Hello Everybody 👋, I am Shubham and I am new to this new platform and with its first impression, I loved the look and feel of it ! I have always liked nicheless blogging because when you are interested in lot of things and want to say a lot we spend more time categorizing rather than actually telling the story. Going…
Eloise was always a fan of the outlet malls. She'd often come home from a day out with bags of clothes and a giant grin on her face. She'd lay them out on her bed, pointing to each price tag while her husband, Ed, would nod along. "This was 60% off, Ed," she'd say. "Look at this one, Ed, it retails for $400! I got it…
I have never been a ferocious writer. There are many things I want to write but I feel somehow good vocabulary and ability to express myself in as simple and few a words has always eluded me. However, in this post, my goal is to just write. There may not be a specific topic or goal that I write about. Just some random…
Is not you’re kaypo about others (Used to think some people are too busybody) But you understand there is such thing called people intelligence And the desire and initiative to know something from the start till the end Understand more Know what is the characteristics and “ability” each person carry Everyone is…
i am a temporary software developr my code is written is compiled but never commited i forget it the binary exists but its not mine anymore it's someone elses
Tug of war can be a fun game, except when it's happening in your head, between your focus and your distractions. I cannot sit undistracted doing a tedious work for long, but put on a whole catalogue of good cinema and you will see me infuse into the ground, like becoming a part of the ship in Davy Jones' Flying…
Something was definitely lost when we started calling it content. The catchall quality of the term seems to define a certain type of mindless consumption which makes it difficult to differentiate between the single different bites and ultimately remember any of it. Everything is entertaining, nothing is memorable.
They say that not a single person on the planet can make something as simple as a pencil. The creation of a pencil - from the lead to the wood - is the culmination of a grand orchestra of people working together. Very few of them were were actively trying to make a pencil, but it's the collective effort that…
Last night, Erik, Seb and I went to Erik’s favorite restaurant. He’d been wanting to go because last time we went, he had some potato wedges off of Seb’s plate and declared them the best potato wedges in the universe. (He’s also the type to say “do you mind if I take a little bite of your sandwich?” I love his lack of…
There’s one simple rule for beginning journalers about what time to journal every day. Journal at the same time every day. You are building a habit. You want to be consistent. The time you choose to journal dictates your consistency. Consider these three factors when choosing your time. Your typical day: Is there a…
A future belonging to all. Not one. All. No countries. Only administrative borders. Signals of hope. No past. Now and forever.
Our outward appearance tells others a lot. Wear a suit and show your business personality Wear an orange robe and show your religious personality Wear harem pants and show your free-spirit personality This is all signaling. By signaling we let others know that our "culture" exists. Now here's the problem.. We, humans…
Guy who wears suit Or try to impress everyone everyday at uni Thinking of life What did they turn out to be? Did they follow the system or they started something else for themselves as well? Do I actually want to just show my face to work? Ideas are forged - not created. Work on it and start day by day - and you…
Good night's sleep, even without the whirlpool and crappy eating. Odd dream: only a snippet of making out with a woman I know to be a lesbian. Got to listen to birdsong over coffee this morning. The birdsong doesn't make me feel as happy as it used to. Time for a break, time for a change. 280720 May 2022
So, what prevents us from making changes in a constantly changing world? Do we remain rigid while the world evolves around us? To understand this, let's consider the insights of neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett. She challenges conventional thinking and offers valuable perspectives on how our brain constructs…
new strategy for finding books: follow booktubers who don't like the same books as me (that's very easy to do lmao) i feel myself branching out!! hearing people talk about why they like something primes me to like it too. seeing their smiling faces hypnotizes me into liking what they like i thought i wanted to do a…
As the title suggests, I am not really addicted to things. I drink alcohol only once every few months, usually with just a few people. I smoke rarely throughout the year, and I only smoke up a few times in the entire year. And all this time, I was proud of being a moderate drinker, someone who didn't cause trouble or…
The real essence of understanding lies in the ability to listen without the hunger to judge or correct.....for judgment interrupts what listening can reveal.
I hardly remember when did I attend a full day classes of my college. For the past 9 months, I was a part of a start-up in fin-tech domain. But due to rookie mistakes, they dried up and thus I had to get another internship to pay EMIs of my new I-phone (Aah! What a motivation to work). So, two days back I joined…
Probably not. But for sure we can control how they control our actions. That's why writing your thoughts is the most important thing. Call it Journaling or not. But jotting it down and reflecting on those thoughts, help us see ideas. As ideas usually come at the intersection of thoughts. That's why a system where you…
Often, when we do things we overlook things and don't see the blind spots. In retrospect they look stupid and trivial to point that you get harsh on yourself. You often say things to yourself like "how can you be so dumb?" and "i should have been careful and not so naive". You start questioning your ability and it…
i zoned out at the table again and for a while you didn’t say anything but then like a gentle tug, realigning my orbit when the disassociation dissipates, you anchor; “are you alright?” and it echoes then and now, in my own head, like a muffled drum “are you alright?”
"He was angry with Jeanie for not having encourage the Laird - He was angry with the Laird for requiring encouragement - and he was angry with himself for being angry with himself for being angry at all on the occasions." -Walter Scott, The Heart of Mid-Lothian Everyone has moments of extreme emotion. It's not healthy…
I released myself from the shackles of performative acts within the corporate landscape that's solely measured through external metrics dictated by an ambiguous algorithm on its designated platform (I deleted my LinkedIn account).
Yes, the freedom is great. You can set your own time, your own rate - which is usually higher than an employee, and you can work on exciting stuff. But most of the time, it is very mercenary. You are not a part of the community that surrounds the project. You weren't there when it was only an idea, and often you're…
I am reading a book called as Range by David Epstein. The book is about how being a generalist will help someone to navigate this world where all things are mostly specialized. Tiger Woods started learning golf when he was 4. He knew he enjoyed it and he knew he wanted to be great at it. He engaged in "deliberate…
Intelligent people will put themselves in positive situations When they answer questions They will put them to a better position Not lesser than before (like giving people doubting you) So face is a problem too - sometimes by the agave you can see Intelligent people put themselves in a good position too - even w their…
Making a few bad decisions is preferable to remaining indecisive. As soon as I stop wavering and instead commit to a concrete plan, the clarity and direction it brings feel both right and rewarding. Decisiveness and concreteness not only accelerates progress but also builds confidence.
As I wrote in my last part of Cortex X4 [1], We finally have some news on X5. Quote: which forms part of (ARM CEO) Rene Haas's strategy to "eliminate the performance gap between ARM-designed processors and custom ARM implementations." Moorhead's inside information has "Blackhawk" demonstrating the "largest…
A new visual announcement has been piped in to the lounge at my corporate day job, proudly announcing that our CEO was recently crowned "1 most influential" by some self-proclaimed arbiter of the game. Besides immediately striking me as a dick-waving power move, I wondered why they chose to emphasize influence as a…
Easier said than done, right? I know this firsthand because this has been my problem for years—decades, even. You see, I've always loved writing. I started crafting stories and essays at eleven years old. The writing wasn't great, but I loved the process: formulating thoughts and ideas, turning them into stories that…
First post. I have no idea what I'll write here or whether I will even write at all after this first post. Let's see how it turns out.
The only thing that bores me more than my opinion is yours. I haven't heard a new take or a hot take in more than 20 years. Most of my takes are bargain basement off the shelf opinions that I hold true -- I think? -- not because I believe them but because of some delusional image I have of myself. I am not the only…
Hello, self! You're receiving this email because uhm, you subscribed to yourself. I think Louis is onto something here, and I hope it catches on. I just find that welcome message a tad funny. "Subscribe to yourself to receive your messages!" At least I know someone will read it later. Writing anonymously does give…
What is existence but a search for answers that never quite come. Existence reflects patterns. Patterns that one must recognize in order to survive. What if... the internal discomfort of specific patterns exists for a reason? What if... the shaming of pattern-recognition is coordinated for the sake of mental…
To think positively Making the best out of any situation Think even you think about leaving a job E would probably be rational - get better job and income before thinking of actually having no income To think of so many things - and telling people that why do you want to get a job you hate after getting all that…
There's this scene from the Netflix series Sense8 (which I recommend) where the protagonists of the show mull the question: who am I? It's a beautiful moment where they rhetorically pose the constituent questions required to answer the big one. Your love, your fears, your losses all together make you, you. For the…
"The technological enthusiasm and hobbyism of today is strikingly similar to at the turn of the 19th century, and it has led a comparable degree of willful blindness about the risks. In 1903, the managers of a big New York dynamite manufacturing company begged publicly to The New York Times for new laws to abide by.…
…in other people. I read someone's blog post here on Nicheless. I couldn't be arsed. That got me thinking about who could be arsed on reading my posts. Well done for making it this far.
I recently published my first blog post - Learning To Write. Simply put, my plan for learning how to write is to force words out onto paper and see what sticks. Fine, in theory. But how do I put this plan into practice? How do I ensure that in 3 weeks, or 3 months, or 3 years I am still writing? This is an experiment…
I think some way or other people are connected. they always stay connected maybe not physically maybe not socially and even not mentally but you just have the instinct in you that you miss this person but somehow you have this gut feeling of what they have been doing or if something serious takes place in their life.…
TL;DR: when I am sending my Calendly link, please know my intent is to save each of us time, not some sort of presumption that my calendar is more important than yours. Longer: I am pro-Calendly. I realize that there has been a debate around it following a VC's rant. I get the critique: if I send a Calendly to you,…
I recently bought an electric fly swatter to handle the flies in our house. It felt satisfying to quickly zap them away. However, today I encountered a fly that exhibited surprisingly clever behavior during its escape attempts. It almost seemed as if it knew what was coming and was afraid. Killing this particular fly…
Why bother so much about not making a mistake - like KS. The point of this life is to make as many as possible. The way of saying “what’s the point of playing Sudoku if you don’t even bother getting it right or wrong” - is actually not the essence of life. The point of life is to make as many mistakes as possible -…
Coming home to a refreshing pool, a beautiful sunset, a delicious BBQ dinner, surrounded by loving parents feels like paradise. I‘m so lucky.
Creating is hard - so much harder than consuming. Sometimes I find myself trapped in a consumption hole, paralized by the amount of blood, sweat, and tears it takes to create. Consuming might be way easier and more stimulating in the short term. However, it is not fulfilling; it's a trap. Creating is hard, but it is…
I really miss YouTube. I gave it up for Lent and talked about it here. But I truly do miss being on the platform, talking with subscribers, watching videos in my free time, and creating helpful content for those looking to make intentional tech purchases. Luckily, I do have a good amount of sponsored videos lined up…
