Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
My hot take is that I couldn't care less about cryptocurrencies. But here's the latest anon post from the region: === anon9725 Bad week for the Solis. Three headlines from last week: - "Value of Solis Plummets 15% After Government Kiosks and ATMs Attacked Over Weekend". - "Solis Cryptocurrency Struggles Amid Market…
Came across a captivating question recently by Nicheless founder Louis on his post "12 questions that captivate me". Can a society with diverse, conflicting values survive? I believe only a society with diverse and conflicting values can survive. Humans follow their desires to pretty much any extreme. If a particular…
Dreams of fortunes, inside towers tall, Deaf ears drown inner calls. Fancy house, a high-rise view, For fleeting praise i chose to pursue. My youth traded for suits and ties, Seeking my worth in some other's eyes. Dawn to dusk in office halls, Sleepless nights inside mansion walls Through sleepless nights and silent…
I recently read an article by my fav blogger/idol/human Lawrence on finality of everything (look it up, it's a gem). Here's an excerpt from that- 'Understanding the finality of everything brings a clarity that only a wiser version of myself can see. If I know that one day I’ll long for the very things I routinely…
Ontem eu dormi a tarde, hoje vou dormir…
my memories glitch past scenes painstakingly ripped out. sugar we're falling down screaming, "I LOVE WATCHING memoryTV!" oh you again. every time it's the same goddamn movie: my chest swells, autumn smells then you, you disappoint me. 1+1=2 crosslegged i sit in the piles of tangled tapes waist-high. 6:00pm, the cinema…
being the nice guy is not going to get you anything. you think you are doing people good but no you are just killing yourself bit by bit. people will go on doing what they want to do. hurt you. worse, not even care about you. people are just trauma. you got to be an asshole to get what you want. put your own needs…
If there's one thing you should know about me, it is that I adore cinema. It is my favorite art form without a doubt. Its powers are like no other. And what would be better than to make more people aware of its majestic qualities. I present you a list of 5 movies that would interest to watch and dig deeper into this…
Thirty years ago, a mob brought down a mosque in a town I thought existed only in stories. I do not recall it's violent aftermath in Bombay. I was only eight, shielded from much that was frightening about our world. But, I remember the news of the bombs going off. Especially the one near the Shiv Sena Bhavan in Dadar.…
Hello, As a kid I spent many hours gaming and one of my favorite genre was "RPG" (Role Playing) because these game were open ended and played out based on the choices that the player makes based on internal & external considerations. The effects of these choices are consequential. Everything in a good RPG effects the…
On a walking tour in Oaxaca, Mexico last year, my local guide said something that struck close to home – “Most homes and businesses in the city aren’t owned by Oaxacans. They’re owned by Americans.” Because of American demand, Oaxacans couldn’t afford to live in the best parts of their own city and were forced to live…
Olha. Ainda estou internada.
I went without a phone for almost two weeks. the first day was absolutely terrifying. granted I was in an unfamiliar place, staying alone, and unable to give proper notice that I'd be unreachable. but as I rode home today with a new iphone box, typically one of my favorite activities, I felt a twinge of sadness. there…
One of the biggest misconceptions is that stories need to be action packed, or they'll be boring. The top 13 movies in 2021 were all action movies. The top four were superhero movies, with number one being, of course, Spider Man. There's this pervasive idea that a big movie means explosions and guns and superpowers.…
I crave something, I get it. I need something, I get it. Someone close to me needs something, they get it from me. It's a beautiful feeling to not have to worry about costs. It's a beautiful feeling to not have to worry about money. This has been my experience for the past few days after making what can be said to be…
the idea of inbox zero is enough to make my head spin. to be honest, I've felt this way for a while, but being available has always felt like one of my biggest strengths, so I've tried to put my head down and persevere. the problem is the demand never stops. and the more you take on, the less boundaries you set, the…
Hola!
Started playing Dungeons & Dragons again and Im easing back into being a dungeon master, something I enjoyed as a child. There are two big challenges: Preparation time and wielding narrative tension The reality of playing DnD as an adult is that time is scarce. And preping for a game as a Dungeon master takes up a lot…
What happens when your environment does not match your needs? As our need for food and safety is fulfilled, a new void opens up. The need for love and connection. This is where we start noticing other aspects of our environment. A friend, a beautiful lady in the street, a like on a post.. Our environment is the same,…
i love patti smith's writing but i've never really like, gotten into the musician side of her and because "just kids" focuses so much on that, i got curious and so i'm watching a 1977 interview+concert of her and i'm shocked that she (1) has a new york accent (2) sounds so damn confident and opinionated in person…
''We come for the jobs and stay for the weather.'' Famous words by a friend when I could not stop raving about the cool Bangalore evenings in May. Unlike coastal Mumbai, Bangalore which is set in a valley is a basin with pockets of land that collect water, eventually giving rise to lakes. I have almost no working or…
It had been over 4 years since I last took some proper time off work, but the last 6 weeks have been great. I saw some amazing places, met some interesting people, spent time with some of my closest friends, ate some great food, and discovered some lovely alcohol (mezcal & pisco for the win!). Now that I'm back, I…

I will miss her. She listened to me. She made me feel intelligent. Slowly she grew on me. I loved her drive and intelligence. She was colorful. She shone in the crowd. I fell in love slowly, then all at once. But she broke my heart, she ghosted and she left. I thought we could build a lot of things today. I wanted her…
Crazy thought -- I know -- but what if much of what ails this world could be fixed simply by finding the right place for people to fit? Now, I know I'm CrAaAzY but maybe -- just maybe -- that's because sanity is defined by the contrast of perspective; what is sane to you is insane to me, and so forth. "Well, WE are…
We love conclusions. Conclusions lend certainty to identity, relationships, and thought experiments. For instance, soon after a conversation, we are quick to think,"Oh this person is cool." Even with thought experiments we shade the experiment with what we know to be true from our experience. Let's say if someone asks…
I was born in the late 80s, which means I grew up playing Starcraft. For those of you not born in the 80s Starcraft is a computer game where you'd build little armies and conquer the map. There were the future humans called Terrans. There were fancy hi-tech aliens with their spaceships and laser beams called the…
A few days into this exercise of writing daily, I've had a few learnings - I feel most of my decisions that switched things around have been spontaneous. It was the case with taking up this daily writing challenge too. I didn't have topics in mind. I refrain from writing about the things I come across online…
I might come off sounding like a sociopath in this post, but oh well. Here goes. I realized today at work that I don't like when people agree with me. I'm on a new team and I've noticed a lot of problems with our processes. There seems to be a lack of automation. Other software engineers may know what I'm talking…
I got in to a discussion with a friend about some bill that was signed into law in Florida that, depending on your political orientation, either (a) made it illegal to talk about being gay in classrooms, insinuating that anyone who supported it is a homophobic bigot, or (b) was an attempt by concerned parents and…
I just finished a delightful read on Substack. I’m consistently in awe at the volumes of good writing that’s just waiting to be read out there. It will take no less than a miracle to find these pieces. For as many templatized, SEO-optimized, value-because-it-monetized pieces out there – I think there might just be as…
Young people tend to be more reformist, and older individuals more revivalist. There is something about aging which makes people revivalist. Revivalism is induced by a cocktail, which is one part nostalgia and three parts lived experiences. A very hard liquor, it causes permanent and irreversible damage to the brain…
Imagine my third-grade surprise when I got to Kingston the first time since migrating and found out our driver was named "Drugs." My grandmother arranged the pickup and everyone was saying this name like it was a normal title. Like his name was John or Joe. Except, it was a word that'd been drilled into my head the…

Shephards pie with chicken mince, mini pomfrets on a bed of buttered spinach, pasta with a medley of ''english'' vegetables in a tomato sauce. Green salad with a generous topping of feta. Of course, some very garlicky bread. For dessert a christmas plum cake with fresh cherries in a custard. Topped off with a bottle…
First post. I have no idea what I'll write here or whether I will even write at all after this first post. Let's see how it turns out.
We ended pt 3 by asking, in short, why can't we leap before we look in our quest for creative colutions? One answer is that we've tried shortcuts. Check the web. It's full of models, maps, diagrams, templates, tools and advice on, 'how to write a killer headline'. While a disciplined approach is clearly of some value,…
Putting a lot of time into working; thats not the smart way to get money Should balance between both How much should you work And that makes me question - if I’m not working am I using the max of my capabilities because working just makes you stagnant! Am I reading, am I learning a course, gym, socialising, what am I…
“On a gathering storm comes/A tall handsome man/In a dusty black coat with/A red right hand.” Peaky Blinders fans will know this song. It's the ballad to which the credits are set, typically with Tommy Shelby striding in slow motion through smoke and mud, peak pulled low, overcoat sweeping behind. The song was…
"PKM is not so much about creating knowledge but rather the development of conscious regular activities from which new knowledge can emerge." Harold Jarche I am re-taking Jarche's PKMastery 40-day Workshop. I first took the workshop in 2015, which includes access to subsequent workshops as Jarche evolves his material…
Living an independent has been the goal. Although I earn, I haven't that goal yet. Let's plan for it. Let's do it.
I take courses related to personal knowledge management (PKM). An alum of 3 unrelated PKM-based online courses, I am retaking them (Sept - Dec 2022) for refreshed content and to adjust my practices. Each course has its own premise. Granted there have been times I have taken pause and even cringed. Nonetheless, a bit…
It happens so often. It’s not a coincidence. What I free-write in my journal predicts what I will experience or read about later in the day. This happens to me at least once a week. Your thoughts are reflected and reinforced by your experiences. It cycles back around so your experiences reflect and reinforce your…
Yesterday in a class on human breast milk we discussed how it is considered a living tissue by some, because the breast milk contains living cells too. Many of these cells come from the gut associated lymphoid tissue(GALT), is what one of our professors said. And surely that led me to the next possible question, what…
THEME: rolefulness 3 WORDS: deliberate, betweenness, fingertips Below explains the context of each. I will share about these in follow-up blog posts, for which I'll backfill the links below. --- ROLEFULNESS ... because of Professor Daiki Kato and Nicholas "Nick" Kemp on-going work. I am part of the Ikigai Tribe.…
