Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
I wanted to have a stellar career early amongst my peers. For that I started to learn things of my interest which later could become a part of my skillset. But while interning at Blinkit, I listened to my manager's career transitions from Marketing to Sales and all. This made me search skillsets of specific job roles…
Sometimes we only miss something when it's gone, and then we feel an emptiness in its place. The art should be to be aware of this even before the void appears. To fully appreciate every moment while it's still present.
I've often been told that I'm straightforward in my conversations. This caught the attention of my wife who once remarked, "I wish I could be as straightforward as you." It made me wonder if there's a fear of being direct and possibly offending others. When something catches my attention like this, I try to dig deeper…
Refresca e renova real!! Ela escolheu o parque…
Sometimes it doesn’t matter about the delivery (at first). Of course it matters but - what you started or initiated is much more interesting and useful/you’re supposed to live it that way. Imagine the scenario which you had in your head for quite a few times: You rather not do something because you’re afraid of making…
Today I am thinking of Alex the parrot again. The first and only known non-human to ask an existential question. His last words to his caretaker: "You be good, I love you. See you tomorrow". I wonder how much animals can really know. Octopi come to mind when I think of consciousness. They are very smart -- smarter…
I wonder when it first dawned on me that one day I will not be here anymore. Was it when I was 12, roller-skating, back in my hometown? Afraid to fall or be thrown to the ground, always afraid to hurt myself beyond repair. Dreading the pain, my fists clenched, gliding on the edges of the rink. Or was it at 18, when I…
Know how to say no Why people don’t give a shit about what you say Because you don’t have the balls to say what you want to say And also you keep focusing on smaller cheapskate solutions If you want to say no at a last minute cancellation The trouble seems harder Of course it would take longer and harder to say once…
What does that even mean? I guess it's good advice if you're naturally eloquent. But what about for those of us that aren't? "Write like you talk" sounds great but even just looking at it on the screen... it looks a bit odd if I'm being honest. Guess I can't knock it until I try it. I have a tendency I inherited from…
with eyes that grow flowers and a cool that blooms calm one that pinches your cheeks but before you blink is gone and you stay there, cherry blossom pink like a summer moment on a half-frosty morning or an April shower he walks on, hands in his pockets and eyes that could grow flowers
It is not easy to write anything. Everyone wants to write something. Preferably something good. Preferably something good and useful. Preferably something good, useful, and uplifting for the heart. But isn’t the very act of writing itself a kind of uplift for the heart? I will not settle that question now. Because my…
Is it true that we are more or less the same on the inside? I don't mean psychologically. I'm thinking of the vital organs, the stomach, heart, lungs, liver: of their placement and function. -- You Too Can Have a Body Like Mine
22nd I have realised my intense need for validation for the past hurt that I have gone through. That has been further magnified because Nelson does not agree with what I say and that makes me doubt my self confidence so much. So I have been actively seeking validation. I’ve been looking for evidence backing what I…
Woke up around 2:20am feeling impending doom. Worries about taking care of people. Worries about not being able to do what I want. Worries about always being at others' beck & call. Watched some food & self-help videos on YouTube. Got back to bed better listening to train "chu-CHUNK=chu=CHUNK" noises to distract me.…
she is a core memory in my heart long gone, but never forgotten, just too many memories with her, you may delete the photos, but not those imprinted in your mind. she has had the single greatest influence in my life, came at a dark time, left at another. some never leave your soul, she was one of them.
Today, I met with a friend who was upset about a recent experience at a car dealership. He felt disrespected by the salesman and was still angry and frustrated about it even a week later. We discussed how holding onto these emotions wasn't helpful for him and that with more information, his feelings could change. I…
A well known meme claims that Eskimo-Aleut languages have a hundred words for snow. Scholars question this, saying that these languages are polysynthetic, in which bigger words are composed of smaller parts and employ suffixes, or postbases. This makes it appear that there are more unique words than actually exist.…
to build a resilient & flexible system, you need iteration. it’s inevitable. a system can only prove its value when exposed to multiple different contexts. if it fails to adapt to a new context, it’s not a great system yet. as you iterate on multiple contexts, the system will progressively adapt to cover more edge…
Problem-solving is a skill we begin practicing in infancy. Problems never go away. Our strategies for solving them change with age and practice. Use journaling as a strategy for dealing with frustrations, problems, and negative emotions. Even if you don't journal daily, writing your thoughts gives you an opportunity…
I love Neil Pasricha's approach on 'being happy first'. Be happy first, then your best work will come. It doesn't work the other way.
This wall is from Dhobi Talao and is close to Marine Lines and Marine Street. It was home to a pond used to wash sailors' white uniforms and a community of Goans who had as deep a connection to sea and sailing as the sailors from far-off places who called Bombay their temporary home. If we dig maps, will we find the…
Is almost the end of the year and FOR SOME UNGODLY reason I was assigned 4 different projects, 1 art, 1 science and 2 history. the history ones I got to do alone but a wasn't as lucky with the other two. The science one SUCKEDDDD so bad. im failing I already know it. Arts easy but still, Why so many projects????
I have remained fascinated with the sea, ocean and pretty much all sorts of water bodies since a child and my interest is piqued when I hear any story about the mythologies surrounding the sea. The foundation for this was laid as a child when I visited the aquarium on Marine Drive. Housed in an art deco building, the…
When did being mindful become an abstract, complicated process that we must opt into daily? To be mindful is simply to be attentive and aware. To get out of your own head. To realize the world doesn't revolve around you. To be curious about what is going on with others and to engage accordingly. In other words: don't…
ahhh! today creation is hard. it frustrates me. reoccurring in my mind as an emotion, fades from top to bottom. somewhere in the gradient is the perfect colour that represents the output of my frustration
The little firm that I was was part of setting up in March 2000 now has over 600 lawyers and is heading towards having one hundred partners. Its place in the top echelon of the Indian law firm world is well established. It is an admired employer, trusted by clients and seasoned lawyers see it as the platform to…
In my course Introduction to Design Project our main project is to make a lamp, do the ideation, 3d modeling, 3d printing and the electrical assembly of the final product. This course lasts for about 2 months and already in the 2nd week we already have to have some ideas of the concepts and lamps that we want to do.…
What distinguishes a democracy from mob rule? A couple of things, but chief among them is the legal protection of individual rights. You can't hang all the redheads just because the majority wills it. Redheads have as much of a right to life as their brown-haired fellow citizens - not more, not less. The cracks start…
To be successful in life one must have good friends. After the unlimited use of internet and social media by our generation. We have divided our friends in different categories and using them that category wise. We might not know that but indirectly we have categorised friends. Aristotle distinguishes three types of…
We quote Steve Jobs a lot on how we can connect the dots looking backward. To pick and choose parts we remember well to craft a narrative that we call our story, in a way that makes sense. Retrospective parenting is what I call consoling the kid who got hurt years ago. To make sense of the hurt that hasn't healed.…
new strategy for finding books: follow booktubers who don't like the same books as me (that's very easy to do lmao) i feel myself branching out!! hearing people talk about why they like something primes me to like it too. seeing their smiling faces hypnotizes me into liking what they like i thought i wanted to do a…
Help me out. Tell me what I'm supposed to expect here. I have a lot of projects to share progress on right when every social platform is failing me. So, help me out. Is this it?
Used to think about the future. The past. The things I’ve not done. I should be doing this not that. But you used to forgotten that - if you keep worrying about You’re missing out on something that might add up to the pile - the PRESENT! The moment. Never be anxious by controlling yourself, your mindset If you still…
Dor aguda e constante, tonturas, ardência, sensibilidades... Coisa horrenda. E sim, estou…
Schumpeter's theory about how capitalist economies tend to continually renew themselves through creative destruction is kind of like how forest biomes are supposed to work when they are not being mucked up by humans. Emergent systems like forests and markets have a lot of commonalities in this regard. They are not…
The author, Dr. Benjamin Hardy, has written extensively about your Future Self. It's the single clearest way to create motivation, excitement and purposeful in your life. When you can imagine what you want to be in the future, you can feel it. You can plan for it. You can build processes into your life that helps you…
This seems like a very traditional and a cliche thing to say, but its more important than we give credit to. Coming from a broken household, experiencing things no one would want their worst enemies to experience. If i ever got a chance that allowed me to change what happened in the past i would decline that offer…
comecei a ouvir leonard cohen. que voz visceral, profunda, né? profound. eu entendo poucas palavras soltas. leio enquanto ouço, então é mais sensorial do que inteligível para mim. the last time I saw you, you look someone older. poxa. hoje tive uma conversa com uma colega de trabalho sobre luto. tudo começou porque um…
Breathing vast cerulean Crisp cobblestone Remembering when I visited Centuries ago I meet a young girl Full of wonder and ache The world is yours But it will also take Misguidance awaits Learning is painful Something I like to remember When things are blue I breathe and I remember A stunning place In silent November
Building a new habit requires the right tools. Building a journaling habit is no exception. Luckily, the tools needed for journaling are easy to come by. Decide on your preferred method of writing. Is it digital or analog? If you prefer digital, choose a platform and stick with it. Possibilities include: Day One (app)…
When you're younger, you are encouraged to be ambitious. As the years fly by, you learn the important of accepting. Of late, I've found myself in a tricky spot - figuring out the right balance of ambition and acceptance. I would consider myself an ambitious person. There's a lot I think I can achieve and when I look…
It is a fact of civilized life that there exist rules which govern and constrain individual behavior. You can't steal your neighbor's car because you don't have one, or because his is faster. Regardless of one's moral philosophical framework, just about everyone agrees on that. We tend to put the people who don't in…
Watching the debate on whether we ought not to trust mainstream media between Matt Taibbi and Douglas Murray for the motion, and Michelle Goldberg and Malcolm Gladwell against, I was struck by the ineptitude of the arguments put forth by the team against, particularly by Gladwell. On multiple occasions he insinuated…
I am realizing that storytelling is a soft skill that I should have learnt early in my career. Storytelling is one craft that gives a positive spin to the most useless work. It can also turn the most beautiful work into a hot garbage.
Isn't it odd that two words from two different languages sound nearly the same? Does anyone else wonder about the twists and turns in the history of our world that led to such coincidences?
Alright, guess the calendar block did not help at all. Let me not bore you with the details of inconsistency. But one of the reason why I start with this is because all around me in social media, everyone seemingly makes habit building a really easy task to achieve. I really want to put my genuine self of struggling…
When I was eighteen, I started a journal. I faithfully wrote entries every day for five years. At the time, I didn’t consider it a journal. I was in college. With my tuition paid, my life savings was $1800. This was my spending money. I didn’t qualify for work-study. I planned to make my money last as long as I could.…
i read a book about how there are people who defy all expectations. like they just HATE fulfilling expectations, doesn't matter if it's internal or external. i may be such a person. i told myself that i should go running at 5 and cook at 6 and have dinner ready by 7.30 but it is now 5.55 and i have been working on…
