Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Omfg, seems like something big is happening in La Paz City. === anon8858 I’m still recovering from the shock of the assassination attempt on General Rodriguez. I was there covering the General’s speech for El Subsuelo. This is the most disturbing scene I’ve ever witnessed. The General was arriving at the stage when a…
ahh i have been revisiting a series of photographs called 'metaphors' by Ettore Sottsass Jr. each photograph would prompt the viewer to challenge how they view architecture. my favorite is titled 'Virtual Architecture'; a physical space made to represent a digital space. the concept hints to our physical limitation…
Means 珍惜当下 You don’t really have to “search” for opportunities Instead know when opportunities came When she approaches you Know the signals know what other are thinking If not find a way to know Change up your daily habits so you don’t Mas Lay on bed Waiting for “things to happen” It won’t come unless you’re taking…
Now its 2024. Vibe coding is here. Its like telling the computer to make what you want - mobile app, web app etc and it will create for you. You do need to know some basics and sometimes a lot more than basics depending on what your idea needs to come out and feel alive. Even I, I am also learning this. I am vibe…
Eu comecei a…
Know how to say no Why people don’t give a shit about what you say Because you don’t have the balls to say what you want to say And also you keep focusing on smaller cheapskate solutions If you want to say no at a last minute cancellation The trouble seems harder Of course it would take longer and harder to say once…
People bother me all of the time with a great idea. "You'll love it, and I really think you can something with it," they say. I can tell they are excited. They're ready to tell anyone who will listen. They tell me about their great idea, as though I don't have a stack of ideas at home that I've been ignoring. Stuff I…
Is by putting the first focus towards the other party Genuinely interested in what she is saying And reply to that sentence “Hahaha is that why you put Bryan beside my seat” That’s a sign of intelligence. A social intelligence Because you’re relating HER in the picture Not at all YOU She talks you relate HERS So is…
“Women are so keenly aware of the male experience because our entire existence had to be kind of through that lens. Whereas men have never had to understand the female experience in order to exist in the world.” Here the comedian Sarah Silverman sums up a feeling at the root of so much of our hatred for outsiders.…
If my body had a group chat during a run, it would be pure chaos. Legs: “We’re tired.” Brain: “We literally just started.” Lungs: “Who approved this pace?” Heart: “Guys, chill. We’re fine.” Stomach: “No, we’re not. That banana was a mistake!” By kilometer two, everyone’s arguing. Legs threaten to leave the chat. Brain…
Eu tô tomando duloxetina pra dor crônica. E, sim. "Eu…
Well, one spends a mind boggling amount of time on the internet. But what makes it worthy are a few worthwhile discoveries, like this place. Quite good to just pen down stuff without any baggage. Recently when I started writing poems which were just what I was observing, feeling and experiencing at the time and…
There have been times when I've been told "good job" and it has made me uncomfortable. You'd expect "good job" to be encouraging. I did too. Except, it felt condescending and I never understood why. Until I came across Adlerian psychology and the difference between horizontal and vertical relationships. For the sake…
I feel sadness I feel blocked I feel stupid What are the thoughts producing these feelings? - There's so much to do. - There are so many unknowns. - My words don't always make sense. - Am I actually bringing value to this world?
I have a friend who always responds with "tired" or "stressed" whenever I ask how she is. It's been five years, and 90% of the time, those are her answers. Yesterday, at a party, she was tired, and after they sang happy birthday, she was in a rush to leave. I asked her to stay a bit longer so we could hang out, but…
Thanks to the generous human beings like Tarra sharing their own knowledge-making and knowledge management journeys in LYT. I continue to extract my thoughts about Legacy PKM. Because of sharing in the LYT community, thoughts that have been evolving for more than two years are being further sparked. Ryuichi Sakamoto I…
Such a stupid word, really. Disappointment. According to Oxford, "sadness or displeasure caused by the nonfulfillment of one's hopes or expectations." While I've never enjoyed the spotlight during recognition of accomplishments, even birthdays, I learned pretty recently how greatly disappointed I feel when my…
The difference you can obviously think is conservative. But what does conservative means? It also means that they are more opened to new ideas and the problem with Asian thinking is it’s way too conservative. That there’s a certain system or rule to follow; which might not be real That you can date as many as you like…
We just escaped from the loud club. We had just celebrated your birthday there but it wasn’t your environment. Apparently you once lived a party life, but I hadn’t seen that side of yours, you had put all that behind you. Our drunk friends took an auto. We decided to walk it. I was sober enough, I am fucked up on the…
i may sound like a soulless creature here, but i did use to have a soul i promise - it was a garden with fragrant flowers, honeydew, some butterflies and all shades of colours. i don't know when i became a parched desert but if i am this today then i am also what i was. i am just scared, i think, of the colossal…
There are animals that are also plants. Elysia Chlorotica is a slug that looks like a leaf. She's the one on the top left in the image above. Part of what makes a plant a plant is that it can make its own food out of inorganic materials like sunlight and water. Slugs like Elysia are mixotrophs. They eat food like…
Spent first day at PG after shifting here the day before. People are nice whom I've met till now, Dada (Tanoy), Siddharth, and Sanjeev (My roommate). Dada was making kadhai paneer when I came with my luggage. I introduced myself and normal questions of my existence. Afterwards, I got to know that Dada was drunk, and…
To refer to a phenomenon or quantity as being deficient implies that there is some proper amount one might expect to have. A gas tank that is three-quarters empty, for example, would rightly be considered deficient if our destination were two hundred miles away; a "gasoline deficit," as it were. It would be just as…
You don’t have to make the “perfect environment” You can make yourself an own garden by changing yourself You don’t have to be “clean” and tidy only at home not at work - you can do it at work too Only people who are good at their day job Could be good at their side hustles too I believe Strive to be good and better…
A great bath feels like a tonic. Two baths in a day, and I bet you will complain about life a little less. Have you also noticed how your mind suddenly calms down near a water body? Listening to the ripples of river water or the rhythmic crashing of sea waves brings a sense of tranquility to our ever-racing minds. I…
Is to be upfront and integrity This is the shield against all immoral and dishonourable G knows you been paying for most It’s ok to reject him once if it’s too much Stay honest and thinking things through The only way to get through and stand strong When having questions - just ask Big decisions; take a night to think…
I often wonder about The Great Filter. Conventional scientific wisdom holds that as there are close to 100 billion stars, about 500 billion planets and possibly 10 billion earth-like planets around those stars (all this just in the Milky Way), the chances of intelligent life are high. We just haven't met any yet. Why?…
i've apparently made it a quasi-tradition to start editing a new site or writing a new blog post (or if i'm feeling super ambitious, both!) right on the new year. two years ago it was substack, last year it was buttondown, and now it's omg.lol (and here too, i suppose). last night i entered the new year alone (with my…
The quantum of the gap between need and desire is inversely proportional to the degree of contentment we possess.
A Matriarch born in 1908 in present day Pakistan has left a wonderful legacy, four generations ahead. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of staying true to her legacy. From her Son (84 years), her grand daugters (in their 50s and 60s), her great grand daughters (40s and 50s) and great great grand children (from…
Our current understanding of biology suggests that telomeres play a role in protecting genetic information during the replication process. During every cell division, the protective ends of every strand of DNA are shortened just a bit, protecting the important stuff from damage. If memes are analogous to genes as the…
Are we here for power? Are we here for sex? OR Are we here for meaning? When you are born, the consciousness inside of you doesn't know any labels. When you try to look a newborn baby in the eyes you will notice that it's eyes can't focus. It has to learn to interpret certain frequencies into certain colors. I'd say…
According to Mr. C It’s okay to not know because you’re new He looks at you for your capability; potential IQ is the same It’s just that new people might not know and will be all over the place in the beginning Never throw the task to seniors Take up the responsibility and actually do it as well You could’ve been…
I prefer packing last minute. It has helped me pack better and not forget the essential items. But this preference is in stark contrast with that of my parents. My mum packs about 2-3 days in advance, and my dad at least the day prior. My preference started changing when I began traveling without my parents. At first,…
The reason people are mentally and physically ill are usually social and economic. People need friends and a feeling of belonging. They need a sense of purpose. Financial security. A safe home and hope for the future. I read a story about a group of lonely, anxious strangers who were tasked with restoring a park over…
twitter isn't what it used to be and too many people i know follow me so i can't be totally candid with my thoughts; i love my physical journal but i think i like a digital space for fleeting thoughts, sometimes the pen to paper feels too permanent. journal is also more of a documentation of time, not as much as an…
Is skimming through an article or a book reading? I find that in this age of information overload, we have become superficial readers (if that’s even a term), people who claim to read but aren’t reading. You’re collecting headlines - you’re trying to know a bit about everything - so that you can’t be called out for…
I’ve been working on building some reverb tanks the last few weeks. I got the first one wired tonight and I messed up something. The two circuit boards, that are not connected, are somehow interacting with each other. I’m going to try and wire up the second one tomorrow and see if I can find what I did wrong the first…
To not feel stagnant is to keep learning everything Consistent hunger for growth I used to think like I need to be doing this job before so I could be goood But I guess I was wrong The fun part is not knowing it at all And finding the answer I think that’s the joy of the game Consistently going into new things is a…
Post graduation, I recently moved to Bangalore for employment. The weather which has been its trademark selling point was unsurprisngly good. Its rain however seems to be lacking in discussion, while Bangalore's overall weather is hilariously unpredictable. You'll find yourself wearing summer shorts on rainy days and…
I've noticed that, for some reason, I write when I'm unhappy. More generally, I often seem more creative when I'm less happy. How could that be? Perhaps it's because when I'm less happy, it's like there's a hole in my life that I need to fill. My instinct is then to find or make things to fill that hole. The feeling…
Nicheless seems neat enough. I look forward to seeing how it pans out in the community. I don’t really post on social media of any kind because so many posts and comments are just looking to be the next viral slam quote to make the rounds in their author’s respective echo chambers. I just avoid it for the most part or…
What is Life? if we were to die one day, And what is Life? if we're gonna live forever.
Hannah Arendt defined totalitarianism as the elimination of the individual. A totalitarian regime seeks uncontested authority over one's inner thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, in addition to one's actions and utterances. All action is either forbidden or mandatory; individual will is subsumed as an instrument of the…
"You're in the kitchen, frying up some good food, and the oil is running a little low in the pan, so you add some, and the food starts sizzling again, and the aroma fills the kitchen. That's what it felt like. It was so nice." My aunt, who is in her nineties, had her grandson, his wife, and five great-grandchildren…
There are many productivity gurus out there who talk about automating things as much as possible. I don't think that would fly with me. Just today, I realised the 'confidence' that small tasks - like cleaning the house, doing laundry - bring to you. Small tasks compound to big tasks. There is an American colonel…
Ahhhhh speaking with an AI has moments of joy thinking about all the possibilities. then it's content quickly changes and reality tells me we have a very long way before all our possibilities will be realized...
