Use The Minds Meaning Vacuum
Are we here for power?
Are we here for sex?
OR
Are we here for meaning?
When you are born, the consciousness inside of you doesn't know any labels.
When you try to look a newborn baby in the eyes you will notice that it's eyes can't focus.
It has to learn to interpret certain frequencies into certain colors.
I'd say the baby already attaches meaning to things.
It learns to think in symbols before it learns to think in language.
A breast, milk
A touch, safety
A loud noise, danger
Even without words, the baby is capable of providing meaning to his or her experience.
Humans are addicted to meaning.
Hence our addiction to thoughts and stories.
Maybe you were in your car, in public transport or doing the dishes. A thought in the back of your mind started to whisper "Is this it?".
You quickly focused back on the task at hand.
The next day the same thought visited you again. It kept repeating itself. "Is this it?"
The more you resist the more it persists.
You wake up with a clear mind.
A tabula rasa - as the philosophers call it.
You realize that the void of meaning is the biggest opportunity in your life. A moment to fill the mind with new stories.
Not of who you were.
Not of who you are.
But of who you will become.
Take a day to make a moodboard of your future.
Write in detail about the character you need to become to fulfill your goals.
Read it every day.
Repetition and simplicity.
Your brain is just a simple machine.
The more you repeat.
The more the wiring get solidified.
