Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Today is so much more than yesterday Today made yet another tomorrow. Today can forgive Today can relive Or just love and forget all of last night's sorrow Today can be different or just another whistle, a name given to a former ride Today can be wild Today can be a lie YOU GET TO CHOOSE (you really really do) The…
O texto é pra lamentar que agora o Sesc 24 de maio não vende mais sorvete de iogurte but also to talk about something more deep, como minha rigidez cognitiva com algumas coisas. Eu não gosto de mudanças. Na real, não gostar é muito ameno. Eu ODEIO mudanças. E tudo está sempre mudando o tempo todo nesse mundo. Tudo…
I have stepped foot on the hamster wheel, constantly running, keeping things in motion—the act of creation and destruction. In my case, my online persona. Just now, I discovered this blogging site, on my umpteenth attempt to write some sorry excuse of a blog which I will be deleting once again, just like the others I…
I'm not saying I've discovered the secret to happiness, but daily fiber supplements and a bidet is working out great for me.
You’re likely familiar with the rebuke to “be present!” wielded whenever someone draws for their camera or smartphone during a dinner or a vacation. Think about how many people you know who “hate Instagram” because it’s “so fake.” Granted, between the daily Starbucks chroniclers, new human/ plant/ pet parents, sunset…
Can we all just agree to spell the word "thru?" Imagine the environmental impact of saving all those electrons and ink not having to write "through." Probably won't happen, tho.
Some of the best things happen when you decide to go for it. I experienced one best thing when I challenged myself to journal gratitude. The Ship 30 for 30 writing cohort proved I could be a daily writer. What did I have to lose expanding my writing by keeping a gratitude journal for 30 days? I journaled gratitude a…
I'm always drawn to the internet cacophony about notes. Everyone takes notes. Everyone's notes are all over the place. There isn't a system in existence that organizes, centralizes, and syncs all notes. Except, there is. In fact, there are lots of software applications that help you with your notes. Some are more…
Twitter is terrible, as are all other algorithmic feed social networks. I want the fun of early twitter and livejournal back.
Intelligent people will put themselves in positive situations When they answer questions They will put them to a better position Not lesser than before (like giving people doubting you) So face is a problem too - sometimes by the agave you can see Intelligent people put themselves in a good position too - even w their…
karl's (much younger) gf said "karl said you guys were really impressed by him" ("is that true?" she implied) and he was smiling like "you tell her, tell her what you told me" and i was like "well yeah karl is pretty much the coolest person we've ever met" he was like "told you ;)" i just love karl's confidence he…
The startup journey is full of hidden traps that can destroy even the most promising companies. I've seen too many talented founders fall into these psychological pitfalls that silently kill startups from within. This happened with myself during a certain phase and thankfully a coach held the mirror. These aren't the…
I don't know how to write. This is my first blog post. For months now, I have agonised over how to write, why anyone would care about my writing and what the hell I would even write about. Over those months, no content has materialised on the paper in front of me. But why wait? The truth is that nobody cares about…
I'm an introvert with no sense of how to mingle socially. It becomes incredibly awkward in social settings but not on social virtual settings. This is where I thrive. This is where I talk. This is where I consume. This is home.
We survive in groups. To not belong to one is a fearsome state for a social animal to find itself in. However, a collective alone does not make for fulfillment. We are rarely content to linger on the lower rungs. Likable but useless. Our primary drive is towards survival. When we are safe we start seeking groups to…
My combo family/girlfriend trip taught me three lessons about packing for a ten-day trip. I haven’t traveled much in recent years. I confess I tend to overpack. A three-day getaway poses no problem. Ten days with weather changes proved a challenge. I had a strategy. I packed mix-and-match items and planned to layer…
One of the biggest misconceptions is that stories need to be action packed, or they'll be boring. The top 13 movies in 2021 were all action movies. The top four were superhero movies, with number one being, of course, Spider Man. There's this pervasive idea that a big movie means explosions and guns and superpowers.…
With all the AI rage out there, there's been different perspectives about the subjects. Some are interested in what tools like ChatGPT can do, others in how it works, others terrified at what it does, and there's the other folks that feel their current role is being threatened. That's too big of a discussion to try to…
Two ways to look at a weekend being spent alone - I have nobody around me who wants to spend time with me. I am all alone. OR I get to spend time by myself without having to worry about making plans with others. There needs to be a fine balance between both of these, I guess. Anyhow, definitely feeling sad about being…
Rights are like muscles. They must be exercised regularly to prevent atrophy. They are earned through hard work and preserved through constant maintenance. As with any maintenance work, the cost of neglect can lead to sudden unexpected catastrophic consequences, particularly so when one can least afford to address…
Rambling is what I do more than talking only to realise that talking is no more than censoring your rambling and picking out the best variation of a collection of words. The more you talk the better you get at picking out the best words and that is considered normal. The art of filtering your ramble is talking. All of…
Be very engaged in conversations The way you put your energy and soul into thinking things Will changed your perspective and yourself to the outside world Like how you talk to subcon You gotta be mentally prepared Very very prepared even your face has to be smiley all day else your PM will think you’re angry It’s a…
I used to think to produce good work, I have to duck my head down, empty myself, fully, so that I could un-become, and just be - right - do the right thing - somehow. I now know that my best bet is to integrate, to align, to face my heart, and yours. My best bet is to take things to their logical conclusion - because…
Today I had dinner with the marketing head of a client of mine. We had nice conversations but one thing particularly struck me: How genuinely helpful and supportive she was. In the course of the evening she proactively offered help and support on several topics, without expecting anything in return. I'm always…
a new platform shows up on HN, so I'm here, just in case I miss out. I'm also on urbit, just in case I miss out. I'm also on urbit because I am a pseudocoder, but I like fp and weirdness. My real field is [humanities], and after five years I'm only beginning to come to terms with liking it, and being able to undertake…
i have heard a lot of conversations attempt to define an NFT era in art as it occurs. the thing is, art eras are rarely defined at their current time. but for the sake of conversation an NFT could be seen as post-post-modern art where a standard is starting to emerge in the format is it created and the exploration of…
Do not have a backup plan Try things more radical Drop out or do something that is more extreme You’ll perform better Just trust your ability of your brain You’ll be surprised where that would take you And I think you found it by being an archi coordinator in K You did achieve amazing things by trusting yourself Don’t…
There many vivid memories and stories that tie me to the monsoons. Growing up in Bandra, swimming regularly at a Club in Khar and going to a school in Santacruz, I am confident that I experienced monsoon in its full glory just by virtue of growing up in these neighborhoods. Early adult life, living in Cuffe Parade…
everyone reading ottessa moshfegh makes me want to read MORE ottessa moshfegh to know exactly what i hate about her i read a bit of "homesick for another world" but did not like it i felt it was pointlessly pointless. pointlessness should be enjoyed the way that you enjoy doing nothing on a beautiful sicilian sunday…
it's better to spend time alone than to be bored by people. after the norwegians left, i haven't really enjoyed hanging out with other people our age because all they want to talk about is BOAT PROJECTS and i sit there thinking about how they're wasting my time and how i wish i could go read and write but when you're…
Giving a talk to 3rd and 4th years next Monday about the challenges and opportunities of tech industry. Discovered Nicheless and am very curious to see the types of expression and community available here over time.
We are all lied to in childhood. The very first one in the West is about Santa Claus. When people lie, they usually do so to advance themselves in a self serving way. But this isn’t how I viewed my own behavior towards my kids. I was typically lying to protect them. Spare them from a cruel truth that they didn’t need…
Alright, guess the calendar block did not help at all. Let me not bore you with the details of inconsistency. But one of the reason why I start with this is because all around me in social media, everyone seemingly makes habit building a really easy task to achieve. I really want to put my genuine self of struggling…
At some point, you find you've become become 'senior'. No advance notice is sent of this and it does not figure on any meeting agendas. When someone introduces me as 'highly experienced', I look over my shoulder to see who they are really talking about. As seniority hits, I'm finding myself learning more and more from…
In the taxi last night, conversation with the driver turned to identity - religious, national, cultural. He was a melange of Middle Eastern, Eastern European and Turkish. I'm Indian with connections to various parts of India. Neither of us was religious or believed in god, but we agreed that religion had value and…
Lately, I have been reflecting on the often sinful manifestations of our discontent. In particular, when we idealize and glorify "the good old days". Ecclesiastes 7:10 instructs us: Do not say, "Why is it that the former days were better than these?" For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this. In the face of…
i think nicheless is the place where i slowly give shape to my becoming of a writer. see, all these years i have struggled to find my authentic voice. i have always found myself impersonating the style of the grandiose writers, philosophers or poets - depending upon whom i read last. there may have been elements of my…
This quote is famously attributed to Dom Pérignon, a Monk from the Champagne region of France, who in the 17th century spent a significant part of his life perfecting the drink that we now know as Champagne or Sparkling Wine. On a recent flight, flying 35,000 feet above earth at 600 miles an hour and sipping…
Being more with my thoughts, I have come to a realisation how the entire world functions. We want instant results so much that companies have built a business model around it. Consumers don't realise the downside of this. Yes, it has made building things easier but at a cost of short span, short goals and living life…
Ahhh the moment as a cup falls to spill out water lets us predict the near future. the same can be applied to any idea strong enough to take action. the puddle may result in something special...
A boy with dyed hair wearing a skirt and a pink backpack. Unsecured panels on the walls expose bare wires. Toilet paper stuffed into holes, trash scattered on the floor, fading upholstery. The electronic display is non-functional; only a sheet of paper with the line number scrawled in Sharpie taped to the windshield…
Its strange why my articlulation of ideas/feedback has not been upto the mark - despite spending time with clear thinkers. Second order thinking also tends to be a pain in the ass - a number of the decisions that I take spread ripple effects that I need to be vary of. Along with one & two, crisp writing especially in…
I'll start by saying this is might be a controversial take. I'm not here to stir the pot, but I'm here to try and keep my own sanity. This past week brought a lot of noise around Elon Musk taking over Twitter. I must have listened to 10 podcasts, glanced at hundreds of tweets, and probably missed thousands of more…
Yesterday in a class on human breast milk we discussed how it is considered a living tissue by some, because the breast milk contains living cells too. Many of these cells come from the gut associated lymphoid tissue(GALT), is what one of our professors said. And surely that led me to the next possible question, what…
Omfg, seems like something big is happening in La Paz City. === anon8858 I’m still recovering from the shock of the assassination attempt on General Rodriguez. I was there covering the General’s speech for El Subsuelo. This is the most disturbing scene I’ve ever witnessed. The General was arriving at the stage when a…
