Success not a destination but a journey
Being more with my thoughts, I have come to a realisation how the entire world functions. We want instant results so much that companies have built a business model around it.
Consumers don't realise the downside of this. Yes, it has made building things easier but at a cost of short span, short goals and living life in an extreme.
If you reach out to young adults, none of them betting on themselves in the longer run. We are limiting our potential by becoming very impressionable and getting influenced by external factors. We have run out of patience since everything we demand we get in no time.
Everyone desires success but what they overlook is the discipline, grit and motivation to show up everyday and face all challenges head on. The failure bogs you down and still you pick yourself up and try harder.
My two-piece advice to everyone in their 20s is to keep on building a muscle for failure, for discipline. There are hundreds of resources available online but how you use them for your benefit is completely subjective.
I like to read posts on LinkedIn and newsletters on email and I had come across this very practical way of approaching things -
We should marry ourselves to a process instead of trying to do it all together. Pick up one thing and continue to show up everyday without any expectations. The compounding effect is real. You will love the growth and learnings as you keep coming at it. Even after 3 months down the line, you will feel a different version of you which was just waiting for you to be unleashed.
I am myself on this journey to be comfortable with writing as it helps in structuring my thoughts and put to practice what I preach.
