karl's (much younger) gf said "karl said you guys were really impressed by him" ("is that true?" she implied)

and he was smiling like "you tell her, tell her what you told me"

and i was like "well yeah karl is pretty much the coolest person we've ever met"

he was like "told you ;)"

i just love karl's confidence

he came up and shook my hand just so that his gf could verify if he was lying about the compliment we gave him

i can't wait for the snow to stop falling in switzerland so that he can come back

"i'm going to switzerland" he said, to his winter home in zurich -- even though he's from vienna -- to ski, "as soon as the snow falls"
