Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
During Culturati's on-line January 13, 2025 "Preview of Conflict to Connection", Rajkumari Neogy was featured - https://youtu.be/VZaS5UiOmU?si=P5aMj5yJ1Q3YGiuu (recording). During the Q&A, I was reminded of a friend's pursuit of discrimination in his workspace thus posing the question. Because of the No FEAR Act, in…
These areas may be stand-alone, aligned, interplay, or coalesced with others and represent how I show up in the world. What I choose to do (and not do) is rooted in how I identify the external world in context of my values and strengths. --- R|CAT (Resource Catalysts) aka FLYWHEEL role: CONSULTANT ... business owner…
To top off three days of being an excellent host, my pal Christian gives me a selection of six of his favourite German beers as a reward for my having run the Berlin Marathon. Classy. From Berlin, I must travel to Kuwait to make a pitch to an oil and gas company. The beverages go into my check-in luggage. Arriving in…
The blank page is daunting to even seasoned journalers. Using journaling prompts in the early stages of building a journaling habit solves the blank-page dilemma. There are two strategies for finding journaling prompts. 1.)Buy a journal with prompts Amazon lists 10,000+, ranging from one different question-a-day (yes,…
Just today, I saw a tweet sharing an article I read last year, praising how phenomenal it was. The person who tweeted it had a larger following than mine. Had I shared the same link publicly, it wouldn't have made much of a difference as it did in his case. He will get praised for being well-read, cool, and…
Following routines are the easiest way to build a new habit. If your new habit is journaling, to reduce the daily struggle by using a format as part of your routine. As a beginner, you don't know your ultimate format. Start with a simple format to increase your chance of consistency. More complex formats can come…
Life, it seems, will fade away Drifting further, every day Getting lost within myself Nothing matters, no one else. While the rest of the old Metallica banger Fade to Black doesn't really apply to this post, I wanted to borrow generously from the past kings to start it. In a remote hyperconnected world, it is easy to…
Today, my friends surprised me after my exam with an outing to an escape room. There were three of us, and initially, we thought we needed a leader. But once we started, my friend (1) and I couldn’t help but get distracted by all the information we could find. Friend (2) focused on the written clues while friend (1)…
(original: 15 January 2006) part of series while moving from san diego to the sf bay area ... GARAGE SALE FUN ... Yesterday (Saturday), our little compound had a garage sale - which was preceded by the garage clean out on Friday. Matt, Garry, Scud (an awesome bassador) and I sifted through "lots o' stuff". First time time posting anything anywhere in years. I guess you have to learn to post rambling nothingness before you can post actual cognizant thoughts.
For two years in mid-1970s Srinagar, I'd walk down the lane where we lived, cross Maulana Azad Road and traverse the Polo Ground, a vast expanse to my 7 year-old self. Then, crossing Residency Road, I'd make my way down the Bund to Grindlays Ghat, named after the eponymous British bank and housed in a colonial era…
timeless, you would be working more overtime, over time.
Creating positive experiences to share with others is easy. Consider your smile. Everyone wants to experience something that puts a smile on their face. You control your own smile. You can also make others smile. It’s easier than you think. Make a list of what makes you smile. Here are a few things that make me smile.…
as i transcribe her old columns, newspaper clippings yellowed with years, flanked by ads for local shops that no longer exist, her persona begins to take form. as if i were sitting at a potter's wheel, coaxing out a shape. as if i were writing a novel, the setting and characters slowly coming to life. i did not…
To stay in a 9-5: too slow to get the money! The success of anything links heavily to your xintai “Do they still call 23 young?” If there is one book I would want to take a deep read on Is how to converse with people Because any guy can be an expertise in a field But not many can be a bridge to link products with the…
i'm serious. just let me know. remember myspace surveys? the best part about myspace surveys is that as you fill out your answers, you get to read answers from the person you copy&pasted from and it's so fun to learn about them... https://coffeeandcrows.com/2020/07/13/an-old-school-myspace-survey/ this person is so…
Know the workings of the system. Think about - deep dive into internal work on yourself. People leave you again and again and again. Is it your immaturity to actually think it’s their fault? It’s so normal for people to leave for their own goods. You must be mature if you don’t have the power or influence on their…
Well, not literally. What I mean is, the obsession brands had with a 'logo that pops', has now shifted to 'having a community'. With a logo, at least we were all on the same page about what it meant. With a brand community, it's essential to understand what it means and what you need in your brand before you can start…
Is there anything worse than feeling alone? To believe you are worthless. To envy those who aren't alone. To regret your decisions. To question your very existence. To feel your life passing, surrounded by love and laughter, and yet so far away from achieving it. To write and hope the pain dulls. To invite sleep with…
It is often said that you should surround yourself with friends who motivate you to do better and makes you wanna be the best version of myself. I totally agree with this. But what if my friends aren't ambitious? Should I just abandon them for the greater good? I also agree that it affects me in some way or the other,…
Humans have a tendency to over-imitate and copy people of high status, in order to gain prestige, knowledge and skills. This is why people often imitate the habits of successful people, such as the morning routine they follow. However, it is wise to be cautious before blindly imitating others, as success takes more…
No matter your choice of activities, you can be learning. You intentionally choose to participate in some activities to increase your knowledge. Having an in-depth conversation Reading to learn (vs. reading for pleasure) Watching a how-to video. Your purpose in choosing other activities is downtime. A vacation…
Learning to be sociable is a skill Because life is not all about technicals and academia - you need to put effort into having to know yourself as a human Even now you talk sound like a robot And the number 1 first rule to be a sociable human being is to: Be your OWN human; not feeling anxiety or fear or "trying to…
my transitional coworker, a coworker who took over my piano teaching job for me and who, during this transition, became my friend, is a musician more precisely stated, his main thing, as he sees it, is the music he makes, and this piano teaching gig, as he sees it, is just a side hustle -- it's the root that nourishes…
i'm losing the faith that i can ever really be ordinary in the ways i wanted to be ordinary but i hope to at least be extraordinary in the ways i want to be extraordinary i'm gettin a feelin that i want to look at megan boyle's birth chart
I'd like to sell 1000 copies of a self-published book this year. It's a side project, the book isn't written yet and I have no idea how to market it. There are a million ways to fuck this up. Fauzia Burke wrote a book in 2016 about online marketing for busy authors. She suggested figuring out your personal brand,…
Ahhhh some days are experienced yet sit deep within my subconscious never to be recalled on. today could be one of those days...
We must know that there's a difference between being free and doing nothing. I'm a type of person who keeps track of things, set reminders, and make to-do lists. These are few of the ways to sort out my fucked-up prioritisation. But there are days, where I've got work to do, targets to complete, goals to fulfil, and I…
I need to recognize that taking decisions is one of the worst things for me. I like what Shubham said - do things that you can which are in your control and hope for the best. I am finding it very difficult to take a decision. And I think the reason I struggle so much with it is because I: 1. strongly fear the blame…
Regardless of what you're doing or wanting to do. Everything that you can do that's relevant and has chance to be impactful has one thing in common. That commonality is something you can see behind every successful author, musician, artist, entrepreneur, etc. And I'm not referring to putting in the work and getting…
Week two of the new routine and its going pretty well, but there are a number of hangups that I am having trouble with. The first thing is that I had a cigar last night and ended up staying up until 1AM which pushed my wake up to 8:30AM, which in turn, pushed everything else out. I have yet to do my piano and Spanish…

Things I did wrong in the relationship: 1. I did not walk away 2. I was not truthful about what I was feeling to myself (though I feel like my feelings were criminalised, I do think I need to take responsibility for this) 3. Self regulating my actions despite him begging me multiple times not to - I almost felt like…
Notice JPA students. Or scholars. They usually get the things once Cos they’re so aware right, their cognitive skills are on point as well. They relate what others are saying. No further delay: like I’m like “oooh wait that makes sense when she say that. Why do I even ask her questions the first place?!” Like yeah…
I love helping people to get out of their comfort zone, do what they love, reach new heights, and become the best version of themselves. It makes me happy, it gives me energy, and it helps me to unleash my own potential. This is what I want to do in my life. There is so much untapped potential.
I've often been told that I'm straightforward in my conversations. This caught the attention of my wife who once remarked, "I wish I could be as straightforward as you." It made me wonder if there's a fear of being direct and possibly offending others. When something catches my attention like this, I try to dig deeper…
Ahh revealing a piece of my personality. it was scary at first, but once released, i was surprisingly calm. i now exists...
Lately, I've been reminiscing about my past experience in the school system, and one of the common themes that I keep coming back to is the sheer tolerance of prideful incompetence, e.g., being wrong in a loud way. Arguing loudly when you're wrong is, in a way non-threatening to the teacher, they're right at the end…
The working Tom is struggling for air And it's making Dick a Millionaire Harry's watching the news...he's got no clue Just wants to stay away from this worldly zoo...
Do you ever do that thing where you see someone out and about who’ve never seen before, but they look a little bit like someone you recognise. Anyway you’ve only seen their face for a second but not long enough to remember it and because it looks slightly like someone’s face you know, your brain fills in the…
ENGAGE IN DIALOGUE AND REFLECT Ask your local plants for advice or insight and reflect on how you might learn from their lived experiences. Here are some examples: “a garden doesn’t shout into the void, it stays put and complexifies. It quietly grows” - Max Anton Brewer “A garden can create ‘finished products’ but not…
i took a nap under the premise of "meditation" and as i laid there i thought: "oh yes is this what meditation is? oh yes it is very pleasant. is it like a dumping out of all the thoughts i'm having? not trying to think but just letting it all out so i can have a clear mind? oh yes it is so nice oh yes i like this so…
AHH the context to what we have built in the past differs to what exists today. so why is there heavy emphasis on relating architecture to the context of 'now' when the possibility of that to change is guaranteed? if architecture design is void of context will the character to a city become more rich? big questions…
We allow phones at our dinner table. I know that’s counterintuitive coming from someone who 14 years ago, declared, ”When we are empty-nesters, we'll still have dinner table conversation.” At the time, I wasn’t worried about phones. It was magazines. Now a phone comes out almost every evening at our dinner table, for…
