Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
A common misinterpretation of Sun Tzu's Art of War is that competition involves 'deception' in the sense of lying, cheating, and manipulation. However, if we considered his work as aiming for peace being the highest form of excellence rather than destroying opponents, it can have a very, very, different meaning. For…
There’s one simple rule for beginning journalers about what time to journal every day. Journal at the same time every day. You are building a habit. You want to be consistent. The time you choose to journal dictates your consistency. Consider these three factors when choosing your time. Your typical day: Is there a…
Doing some research tonight, but came across this helpful commentary on 1 Corinthians 15:22-23 from St John Chrysostom (Homily 39): "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." What then? Tell me; did all die in Adam the death of sin ? How then was Noah righteous in his generation? And how…
i am a temporary software developr my code is written is compiled but never commited i forget it the binary exists but its not mine anymore it's someone elses
True. To be attractive & meaningful & charismatic Put other people first. Always. Not pleasuring them though
For years I've struggled with a mild internal conflict. Maybe like me, you see yourself as someone who is drawn to minimalism. There is something so appealing about clean lines, uncluttered spaces, and carefully selected objets de art. But then I turn and look at my own abode and realize that my heart is just not here…
You’ve heard you should journal first thing in the morning. Get up early to spend some time with gratitude and bring clarity to the day to come. You’ve heard you should journal at night. Don’t go to bed without reflecting on your day and settling your mind. I advised both of those. You must journal both in the morning…
When our needs are met we ascend to a higher plane of living. When animal needs are met they are at peace. What pulls us forwards is a never ending hunger. More information, more food, more love, more art. That is why we will never be at peace. When our need for safety and food is met, a new void opens up. And so the…
Imagine you are making a cake and a milkshake. You put the cake in the oven and realise it's going to take 2 hours to bake. Until the cake is in the oven, you smartly make the milkshake, and then come back to the oven and finish making the cake. That's async processing. All the work is being done on one thread but…
It had been over 4 years since I last took some proper time off work, but the last 6 weeks have been great. I saw some amazing places, met some interesting people, spent time with some of my closest friends, ate some great food, and discovered some lovely alcohol (mezcal & pisco for the win!). Now that I'm back, I…
Day 3.5, 5:30 pm: does the new publication automatically subscribe everyone? what art for the first "intro" teaser--mom in the kitchen photo or a sketch? Day 4: writers' hour, 5 am, stuck on the monthly blog post which is about mom's newsletter. does this count toward my 15 minute goal of anything C&T related? yes. an…
We waste too much time waiting. We wait for the clock to strike the perfect 9 AM, 10 AM, 2.30 PM, or 11 PM to resume work after a break. We'll scroll through a few more reels if there are 3 minutes to 5.30 PM. I used to do that while studying. I would arbitrarily take a break and then resume at half past something.…
I used to be a born fan of top-down approach. I never could wrap my head around small things if I couldn't figure about the existence and why of things. And that's okay while you're learning but innovation can't be done this way you need to solve a lot of small puzzles to figure out how to solve the larger one or even…
Instead of a small cramped cage, Bruce Alexander constructed a 200-square-foot housing colony for his rats. Into this space, which was heated just right, were placed delicious cedar shavings and all manner of bright balls and wheels. There was ample space for mating, space for birthing, room to roam, and warm nests…
This is not an essay. Rather, a letter to self. I have been journaling for almost 3 months now. It's irregular at best. Yet, it has been the best clarity building exercise for me. During the writing process, I discovered - patterns in my thought process. Such as - I start, seldom finish. I am an instant-dopamine…
I noticed a tendency in some of my friends. I judged them. Then, I noticed it within myself. --- We're all convinced that the choices we've made in life are superior to those made by others, especially when it comes to our careers. Doctors believe that the medical profession is the most honorable way to spend a human…
Phone service, internet, electricity, hot water and all these things that are used to, that we use everyday, the change of not having them from one day to another is drastic. Yesterday, a huge storm approached and I hasn’t stopped since then, it took all of those things away from my house, it was 1 am and in my mind I…
My initial reaction was to hammer out an email to put my new financial advisor in his place. I took a deep breath. I needed to get home to my journal to gain clarity. Before I began journaling daily other extreme emotions caused extreme reactions. I struggled to contain my immediate response, even those I might…
OK. Here's my attempt at using nicheless. What I like: + The minimalistic UI + No-fluff usability; even lack of formatting! + Lack of media and all that comes with it Few questions though + Would it help increase my writing? Is there less pressure due to the smaller word limit? Can I aim for a post a week? + Would it…
na tentativa de RESOLVER (coisa que amo e sou viciada em) os milhares de pensamentos que me rondam todo dia estou aqui. já tentei 130 mídias papel post it páginas matinais, nada me parece muito sincero, sempre me edito e tento deixar mais polido do que é na mente. sendo um pouco cria da internet vai que aqui me sinto…
Today I’m listening to Luka Beatović’s 2021 album BLATO. A fairly small artist, Luka hasn’t hit the 1000 play milestone on any song on Spotify. Despite this, this album is one of the most fascinating I’ve had the pleasure of hearing all year. Potentially described as a dark ambient album, this collection of tracks is…
Hello! I am glad to be here and just type out my thoughts, not for the sake of anyone but myself. Hopefully I get to be regualar in the process. Look forward to it. Currently I am preparing for my Steps for my future residency program, so this is not a great time to start. Nonetheless, this can be an outlet and a…
I struggled with mental health issues for many, many years. They have been compounded by a stubborn insistence on "figuring it out myself." Over the last few years, I have finally started making progress, and I'm mostly healthy, happy, and more understanding. Over the last few months, I've been diving back into…
This exercise of mostly for my own benefit. I got into the habit of being negative and critical. Apparently digging yourself out of that hole is harder than the little effort it took to dig a negative hole and have a petty party down there. Here is my first try to climb up 🧗🏻♀️: 1. I'm grateful that my parents…
I googled synonyms for happiness because I didn't want to sound cliché but all of them sounded too pretentious. Lol. This is just a personal take on the feeling that everyone is so bent on finding. I’d read headlines off of newspapers and magazines that told me stories of people and the lives they lived. To me at that…
my eyes hurt from reading all night, my mind having grown imperceptibly rich, lacking focus. i think so little about my own life now, because of how much i involve myself in other people's business/thoughts TO BE HONEST. i think 76% of the rationale for reading is "I need to read if I want to write" and why do i want…
What you do when you're alone that allows you to become the best version of yourself, determines what kind of success you're going to attain. Imagine: KS - probably sleeping or gaming or Tik Tok E - He probably read news or he read about startups; gaining knowledge that allows him to excel in his career You - Staring…
A while back at a public event, I saw a guy with a shirt that had a design with those words (it was a cool design btw). It was one of those moments that you are like "ohhh, cool shirt" and that's it. But the phrase got stuck in my head, so much so that later on, I wrote a note on my cellphone. With everything I've…
I'm sitting in my garden enjoying the last moments in my house, fresh air, tranquil and great weather. Time goes by so fast, feels like last week when I would come back to school to this feeling.
Today was a day when i was having starting trouble The only thing that really got me kicked up and ready to go was when i got a call from an external entity. What do i learn from this? 1. I do not like moving when I do not know have any plan in place about how to achieve what I want to achieve 2. I am almost always…
We love the fullness of life. It's so obvious why we enjoy everything around us. A new bike, a kayaking adventure, 10 sets of cutlery. But here's the question. Can you tap into that sense of enjoyment of NOT having something? A sense of cleanliness. A sense of simplicity. A sense of emptiness. A sense of possibility.…
Care is the gravity that holds a group together. It is the practical stuff of hospitality, like preparing for a meeting or cleaning up afterwards. It's also emotional work, like noticing that someone is not having a good time, and checking in with them. Without care, a group falls apart. It’s safe to assume that in…
As writers, we long to express (our) thoughts and be heard. In today's climate, we castrate authenticity from artists willing to push (against) the global consensus. Luckily, those daring enough, regardless of the consequences — barge through any boundaries that are societally placed within (our) psyches. I adore the…
Journaling daily is required to build a habit. I’ve heard others say: I don’t have anything to journal about. My day was great, what do I write now? There are no set rules for what you should write or how much you should write. You'll have more to write if you use a balanced approach. I write the same words I would…
Sometimes your brain protects you by thinking of the future. Anticipating scenarios. Sometimes your brain protects you by reminding you of all the difficulties in the past that you’ve survived. One of my difficulties is saying goodbye
Control: it’s such a strong power. Control your mouth when you don’t feel like saying. Be calm and composed like water. Control your mind when it comes to hardship or when you think of the wrong thing. That’s the difference between you & Bryan - and being a leader takes alot of this character. It’s not a sign of being…
i love books that are "aggressively pointless" like they make a point to be pointless (i learned this term from a goodreads user who condemned a book for having this quality that i so dearly cherish. btw; that guy with mainstream taste from youtube named "jack" actually disliked jordan castro's /the novelist/ which…
In Biology WBC stands for White Blood Cells and RBC stands for Red Blood cells , but this is not about biology . This is about a game , a game of football to be precise , where two brilliant teams went all out for the prestigious champions league trophy . On may 28th , the UEFA Champions League final was played in…
The reason people are mentally and physically ill are usually social and economic. People need friends and a feeling of belonging. They need a sense of purpose. Financial security. A safe home and hope for the future. I read a story about a group of lonely, anxious strangers who were tasked with restoring a park over…
Aĥĥ there is joy to find in thinking about how others create. their process, their thoughts, their ethos. some i can see clearly, while others make me wonder more. it is the latter who interest me most because whatever they create next, it will communicate another hint into how they create...
Age appropriate things for me now include ''Temple Hopping'' and getting immense joy from that experience! Who would have thought? Early part of this year, my sister and I set off on a beautiful Friday to explore some wonderful places of worship in aamchi Mumbai! Bright and early, we rendezvoused at 6:30 am at…
Excuse the generic title, I am programmed to type those words first on all social media- Orkut, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google plus, etc. For me, internet in the late 2000's was about discovering humour blogs. We used to have those neighbourhood newspapers complete with satirical takes on our everyday lives. A…
i kind of want my job back. i want to play and teach the piano again. SIGH fuck. get writing. get writing.
When you're younger, you are encouraged to be ambitious. As the years fly by, you learn the important of accepting. Of late, I've found myself in a tricky spot - figuring out the right balance of ambition and acceptance. I would consider myself an ambitious person. There's a lot I think I can achieve and when I look…
Recently, I've noticed an uptick in conversations around 'content.' Too many creators want to decide what should be called content and what shouldn't. Most comparisons stem from a sense of self-superiority on "the process" one has, before one publishes or creates. The complaint is usually one or the other variations…
Dreams of fortunes, inside towers tall, Deaf ears drown inner calls. Fancy house, a high-rise view, For fleeting praise i chose to pursue. My youth traded for suits and ties, Seeking my worth in some other's eyes. Dawn to dusk in office halls, Sleepless nights inside mansion walls Through sleepless nights and silent…
