Hello world!
Excuse the generic title, I am programmed to type those words first on all social media- Orkut, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google plus, etc. For me, internet in the late 2000's was about discovering humour blogs. We used to have those neighbourhood newspapers complete with satirical takes on our everyday lives. A random google search led me to some of the most gifted writers who whipped up hilarious articles consistently. I had nothing but awe for them, and could never muster the courage to even engage with the blogs at any level, let alone start one.
Thanks you, Louis Pereira for creating this space for us to try out blogging, without pressure to deliver consistently, to maintain a website, to be nuanced in our takes. Writing one entry per month, however bad, was my new year resolution(back in 2023, but hey I at least got started now which is still better success rate than my other resolutions). And thanks to the OG bloggers who introduced that wide-eyed college kid to the internet culture - easily the only thing that kept me sane during the pandemic.
As the world and it's relationship with technology is set to change in ways that we don't yet fully understand, I am glad that there is an avenue for rambling (about technology).Somehow, writing here feels less like me talking to myself, but more like a collective documentation of our lived experiences through these crazy times.
P.S. This is my first attempt at publishing my random thoughts to the world. If you're reading this, firstly THANKYOU!! Any and every tip for improvement would be highly appreciated
