blithe & pointless
i love books that are "aggressively pointless" like they make a point to be pointless (i learned this term from a goodreads user who condemned a book for having this quality that i so dearly cherish. btw; that guy with mainstream taste from youtube named "jack" actually disliked jordan castro's /the novelist/ which makes me like jordan castro even more and jack even less)
i hate books that try to talk about serious things like "loss" and "love" and "loneliness" and "grief" or whatever. i want a book to be totally blithe and pointless but to illustrate a certain way of experiencing the world. a book should be a drug. it should make you feel like you're high. nearly no one has tapped into this potential save for jordan castro and megan boyle. a book should be a thing of JOY!! it should make you SMILE!!
what if books were like disneyland?
that's the kind of book i currently want to write. the one i am editing is one that is slightly more somber i think -- i have to figure out the DNA of that book first.
