Strong until the finish
A while back at a public event, I saw a guy with a shirt that had a design with those words (it was a cool design btw).
It was one of those moments that you are like "ohhh, cool shirt" and that's it.
But the phrase got stuck in my head, so much so that later on, I wrote a note on my cellphone.
With everything I've read and heard, that phrase has got much more relevance.
"Strong until the finish".
There are several levels of meaning behind that.
What would it mean for all of us to embrace that concept and live it?
I know a lot of people that couldn't say they can do it (not to mention many of them not even finish).
The common theme is finishing something with the last reserves of energy. Or even just dragging yourself to the finish line.
But being "strong" and still having energy to go until the finish is a new kind of level.
In all areas of life, not just a race or a sports event.
It requires a different kind of practice, of habits, of dedication, of commitment to the cause, of energy regulation, and a different kind of mindset.
It's playing the long game.
Not just being a sprinter and then taking a big rest.
It is knowing that we are in this game of life for a long time until we go back to where we came from.
Finishing strong requires a set of elements that many people don't have to take because this world has made us weak and comfortable.
Hedonism has gone rampant and discipline has been thrown out of the window,
Let us be the few ones who go against the grain, do the work, and be strong until the finish.
