Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
"Be curious, not judgmental" is a quote that is often misattributed to the famous poet Walt Whitman; more recently cause of the show Ted Lasso. Misquoted but not misplaced this is an important lesson which I must confess, I require learning. Today, we will talk about that- It may be quite easy to be animated by…
It's been over a decade since I last started a blog, so curious how this will feel. Blog feels like an outdated term for this—I guess I mean, "long-form tweet!" Just perused the aforementioned blog I made as a young person. I'm so glad to have a record of that time, even though I didn't write much about anything that…
Pari hey. Let’s be real. Are you feeling bad that Shivani is dating Nelson? And if so, why? I think yes, I am. And maybe it’s because I’m feeling like her liking nelson enough to date him is like her taking his side? This person, whom I carry so much grudge and dislike and disrespect for, my own best friend (Who I was…
i have been thinking of my design ethos. i find the best way to develop is by listening to mentors. they way the speak. the way the create. the language they present. all have underlying fundamentals which can be adapted to my own thinking. i believe this is how to truly think outside-of-the-box...
Twenty-four years ago, I had a great idea. I started a journal to record my sons' actions and words. Sometimes I look back at old photos and wonder about the details behind the picture taken. A written record provides even more details. My great idea lasted about eight months. Then nothing. Now I am writing and…
Writing doesn't come naturally to me. Questions like- what's the use case of writing?, there's too much content already floating around!, how will others perceive what I write? etc. etc. have been pulling me back since a very long time now. FRICTION at work, you see. I've greased my thought process with some oil…
What enters your mind when you hear ‘the perfect storm’? Negative, unpredictable factors coming together to cause a catastrophe? My friend, Andy Sporring, recently wrote an essay about how a “perfect storm” of events can have negative or positive effects. After reading his essay, I immediately thought of one of my…
my friends and i are narcissists we think we're pharaohs among peasants
Approach life fast as possible - applies the same how you approach SUDOKU... So here's the thing I want to tell to my 27 self There's nothing much better than being a player and acting in the game of life rather than being a side character! You want to be a main as much as possible. So act like one! One trait that…
i not-so-proudly announce that i am not okay. it is also not okay. but okay.
Just do everything perfectly. Once at a time. Conversations - throw away the unimportant bits. Be clear - tell yourself be clear Even when you got into shit situations Find one way to go out You are good at doing that You need to improve To be better at doing the task while doing though Don’t get stuck at previous…
Around Christmas every year, I trawl through The Guardian and NYT best books of the year lists. Then, there's a visit to the bookshop and a supplementary Amazon order. The Guardian's 2021 list of best crime books included a review of Riccardino, by the late Italian author Andrea Camilleri, who I hadn't heard of…
To stay in a 9-5: too slow to get the money! The success of anything links heavily to your xintai “Do they still call 23 young?” If there is one book I would want to take a deep read on Is how to converse with people Because any guy can be an expertise in a field But not many can be a bridge to link products with the…
Good sleep - middle of the night, I'd wake up, see the time, relax and continue pleasant deep breathing for what seemed like an hour, then checked to see it was only 10 minutes later. Actually felt good. Work? OK. Lots of filing, meetings & meeting notes, then word of a major "dig up old stuff" project coming up. If…
It began back in early march of 2024. I'd just returned from my birthday trip to Iceland. My partner at the time, recently unemployed had come along for the trip. I'd already felt some resentment from having to pay for everything on my own birthday trip, though the trip was my idea, so this wasn't justified. Upon…
As a child born in the 70s, along with other Gen X's, we all grew up without social media. In 1984, I remember watching the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games which was being telecast from Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Swamy, our lovely neighbours on the 2nd floor had invited all the children in the apartment complex…
Anything you could achieve can be seen when you’re young When your SOLE and ONLY purpose is the grades inside your REPORT CARD When the only thing you’ve wanted is really just to get good grades And you didn’t work hard & you knew you didn’t study that much And you got bad grades with Cheehou (that was the dream…
Sometimes when I look at something that I have written, I can't believe I thought of these words. These words, they just come to me. I have to put pen on paper and give it form. I feel like a messenger at times. The universe or some cosmic force whispering to me. Sometimes these words don't feel like mine. I never…
His eyes were shut, and everything was dark. He inhaled, sharply, snapping his head upright. It were as though life abruptly crashed into him. Slowly, he wiggled his toes. Pinky toes first, gradually working toward the big ones. He was alive, but that was all he knew with certainty. He tried to blink, but his lids…
a few days back,an old friend of mine had lost his wife, watching him made me feel the deep pain that greif holds. Yet, i believe it is a beautiful thing and it shows the purity of ones love, so i wrote this short story. Back in the day, in the town of Jasilam, there was a man named Kabir. He was known for his…
Tip-toeing that razor-etched line between minimalism and dysthymia.
I get on a writing jags. I am in one now. It exercises an important muscle that has a profound effect on every facet of my life. Communication: documentation, emails, texts, Slack! Clearly stating and articulating what it is that I know, seek to know, or need to move forward is a super power. At work I write RFCs for…
While the beginning of the year was all about writing, the last few months have shifted to making musical devices again. I kind of abandoned my story after a few months of work. It’s not totally gone though. I still have ideas brewing and I will finish it one day! Right now though I am happy to be making things again…
There’s a new post about the art drama in the region: === anon6232 I got to say, Dr. Caleb’s presentation at the Arts Symposium was surprisingly good. He is good at what he does, and he is well-intentioned. No one in our zine has denied this. At Clan•Destinos we feel it’s our obligation to point out the blind spots of…
Imagine being a part of a moving circus, but always being a spectator. After all, the only people who get to be a part of a moving circus are the stunt folks, magicians, gymnasts. Spectators don't really move with the circus. Just 48 hours in Bombay, I've realized that my relationship with movies and the media…
I was at work today looking for some piece of furniture in the warehouse, and was like, "Man, I can't wait to get home today and read my books." The two in particular right now are "A Difficult Par" and "Dream Golf", but there are uncounted others. I can see several armfuls from where I sit, any one a treasure trove…
More often than not we find ourselves doing things, either at the influence of the parents, society or the people around us unknowingly, almost in a mechanical trance but something clicks and we start questioning the act itself. Makes one wonder, are we consciously doing what we are supposed to do or are we binded by…
Photography is hard, but working on this project has honestly really made it fun. Although it's taken me this long to finally have an image come out (if we can even call it that) I know I am going to enjoy this the more I shoot. Here is to more tests, fails, and successes.
in philosophy, epoche is a method to completely isolate our perception from preconceived notions about it. it's bare thoughts, unpolluted by judgement, bias, prejudice. the truth takes birth here, and then it is distorted by our imposition of existing confirmational bias on it. if the core truth is absolute (there…
As far as I know there are two types of hotels in New York. There are the ones I go to now, using an app that shows me good deals for luxe stays based on daily vacancies. These places are modern, well-appointed, display vintage claptrap in the lobby, and feel like Wes Anderson movie sets. The bar has some kid with a…
My journey started as a crypto enthusiast with the purchase of $5000 of Ether in early 2017. It jumped from $50-$75 a token or something to that extent in a month. I immediately pulled out my money and purchased a 2010 Red (slightly dented) Honda Civic named "Fireball" from a local college kid. My friends would later…
This is by far the most important and most difficult lesson I've learned over the past years. I'm still getting better at it more and more but it's not easy. The whole gist of it is that you should do what you have to do at the time that you have to. Sounds pretty simple but you'd be hard pressed to find someone out…
1/n My first Nicheless post. You know ... experimenting. One thing that I do not quite yet get is the word count of 300. The site very clearly reads; No fluff. Just 300 words. Each post has one (optional) image. Followed by a maximum of 300 words. Long enough as to allow for nuance. Short enough as to not bore your…
I wanted to save myself from me. It was a horrifying experience where I was so scared of my life that I wanted to end it because all I could hear myself say was that I am not enough. I started chasing money, power, fame. It then reached a point where I wanted to do everything to prove a point to myself that I am…
Yesterday, I sent my Mac to repair, cause I spilled soy sauce on it UPS :) and I have been writing my nicheless without any corrections or improvements from Chat GPT, which now feels very weird... its crazy that a year ago I didn't even use Chat GPT and now I can't imagine not having it in my life, it just makes my…
Culture is not something that is written in documents/slides or on walls. Culture is created during everyday moments during company building. Culture is the unspoken actions and behaviors of the team during daily operations. Culture starts with founders. Culture is the extension of founder's behavior and personality.…
To optimize means to discard a working hypothesis and replace it with a simpler one.
Today I had dinner with the marketing head of a client of mine. We had nice conversations but one thing particularly struck me: How genuinely helpful and supportive she was. In the course of the evening she proactively offered help and support on several topics, without expecting anything in return. I'm always…
It's not nostalgia. It's not missing someone or some place. But it still stings the same. This winter has sent me to miss what I'll call "The Feeling". The Feeling is warm and cozy. The Feeling is like a lovely conversation over a cup of tea. The Feeling could last forever. The Feeling is the little things. The…
From Epics thousands of years old up to James Bond and the classic Magnificent 7. We're all familiar with the idea of the hero's journey. A chaotic situation is resolved when the hero overcomes the monster and order is restored. The interplay of these forces is deeply embedded in human nature. Symbolically, think of…
Let’s not be toxic towards yourself & to others Be loving Be better Broaden perspective Meet more people That comes from confidence Confidence comes from discipline You found yourself not feeling toxic anymore (she’s supposed to be feeling against me, etc etc) Which in fact Is there a spoken rule or a written one?…
Never do the perfect job - you're not paid to do the perfect job. Do a good job. Put 80% of your time focusing on how to land a good job. 20% to do your development, research on yourself, your colleagues, your partners and your future growth.
I did NOT prepare to tell my supervisor I was no longer going to to continue being part of the team... and this is what happened: - I told them it was because of a team mate (which is ultimately not true, no matter how hard they are to understand and work with). - I told them so many things out of my ass,…
My hot take is that I couldn't care less about cryptocurrencies. But here's the latest anon post from the region: === anon9725 Bad week for the Solis. Three headlines from last week: - "Value of Solis Plummets 15% After Government Kiosks and ATMs Attacked Over Weekend". - "Solis Cryptocurrency Struggles Amid Market…
this post is an example of what i am trying to explain before you talk to someone about an idea, think about it on your own that could be writing, that could be thinking why? because there is nothing worse than a deep thought that hasn't been at least a little thought through it's good to discuss these things with…
The invisible hand assumes that when individuals act in pursuit of their own self-interest, their decisions cumulatively generate outcomes that benefit society. This principle rests on several assumptions—perfect information, rational decision-making, and institutions that allow private choices to align with broader…
