Do the thing when you have to
This is by far the most important and most difficult lesson I've learned over the past years.
I'm still getting better at it more and more but it's not easy.
The whole gist of it is that you should do what you have to do at the time that you have to.
Sounds pretty simple but you'd be hard pressed to find someone out there who does it constantly.
We live in a society of instant gratification and comfort that makes it easy for us to say no to "uncomfortable" things.
It's like "if it's difficult for you or doesn't come easy, leave it to someone else who can't do it better".
Or in other words "do what you're the best at and delegate the rest".
The idea makes sense, but you can only do it when you've earned the right for it.
For most of us, we can be delegating almost everything because there aren't many people out there who will take it and execute better than us.
And even more, very few have the resources to pay others who we delegated the tasks to.
In that case, the solution, plain and simple, is to develop some self-discipline and make yourself the one who does the things that need to be done and within the time they need to be done.
No excuses like "I don't have time" or "I don't have the proper tools", "I don't feel like it at the moment", "I could do it better tomorrow", and so on.
I think it's better, in these situations, to develop some sort of knee-jerk reaction to doing things 𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 when you don't feel like doing them.
Professionals do what the need to do when they have to, regardless of how they feel.
