Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Read the news about the incident in Itaewon in South Korea. Shocking event really. 156+ dead with 151+ injured. Work was productive. I can finally start working on design docs to push for ideas I’ve had. I started looking at jetbrains space, a new productivity tool. Started looking at the ActivityPub protocol. It…
It's one of those experiences that tell people how 'further' and 'farther' they are from the ones around them every day. You see laborers, officegoers, businessmen, students, people from different parts of the country, from different countries, and more. Today, I sat beside a laborer, and my financial woes suddenly…
the wind is howling and i am sitting inside the boat, cozy and warm and drinking peach tea and listening to this monk talk about non-duality thinking and he said "the mind is a clear blue sky" and i don't know what it means! but i like the way it sounds as i stare at him i became aware of a brand new concept: that…
As is customary for me, I didn't contribute last night. I had a long day and barely even got my daily skateboarding in, which I am skipping tonight due to the weather. Today was crazy at work with so much going on and only so much time to do it in. We got it done though and everyone really busted ass. So part of my…
The airport, a place where people from all over the world meet, sitting here and looking at the people passing through just makes you wonder what kinds of lifestyles do this people have, their story. Is kinda fun to try to guess and make up stories about it. There are so many possibilities in life, so many different…
Unusual Experiences: hallucinations, magical thinking, perceptual aberrations, intuitions, etc. Related to psychosis. I was an uptight child, and I grew into an uptight adult. There is a famous baby picture of me that never ceases to get a response: how can a child be this serious? It turns out it was and remained an…
liberal societies such as Europe unequivocally call for abolishing death penalty, arguing that it violates the fundamental right - the right to life. further, it is also argued that emotional impulse for revenge does not justify capital punishment, neither is there evidence to support that death penalty is a potent…
As a child born in the 70s, along with other Gen X's, we all grew up without social media. In 1984, I remember watching the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games which was being telecast from Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Swamy, our lovely neighbours on the 2nd floor had invited all the children in the apartment complex…
I don't even know Why am I here HE didn't tell me Just left me in fear To figure it out For myself Without making sure That it is all clear This is not fair In any which way What else is to be done Someone who knows Please come And quickly tell me The direction to be taken Whether to go This way or that one This is…
When there is pink and gray in a sunset, the pink stands out because of the contrast. On a cloudy day after a sunny one, we might not always appreciate the clouds, but after days of rain, a single cloudy day with no rain feels like a gift. Why can't we enjoy it as it is, feeling fortunate for a cloudy day, which has…
DAY 1/90 - 16:00 My loved ones seem to have reduced hope in me? just feels that way, I cried a lot till I was tired of crying. The atmosphere feels so strange. I am really really broke and will be having only 2 meals this week till my salary gets credited. I am back to feeling pathetic and numb. Gonna to a 3 month…
Usually, I love trying new tech products. But this month, I've avoided the shiniest new AI Agentic browsers: Perplexity's Comet and OpenAI's ChatGPT Atlas. I'm sure they are great products. But something about them doesn't sit right with me. So I asked myself: Why? Upon introspection, here are 3 things I discovered:…
Pois bem. Tô sempre me surpreendendo como que eu consigo me identificar com ela, uma mulher escrevendo sobre os anos 60. Como muito e, ao mesmo tempo, tão pouco mudou. Ela falando que quando volta nas folgas da universidade pra visitar a família…
“That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” The Bard had wisdom it’s clear. Were a “rose” called a “plinth”, it would be just as pretty. Perhaps we’d have babies called Billy-Plinth? Is it true therefore that it doesn’t matter what you call your brand? If the product, service or values and…
Today, I met up with people from my CDTM class, an add-on study program in Munich. These are people I met just a year ago, and catching up with them, it's crazy to see how they’re all doing big things. In this circle, it seems almost normal - but it’s not. I believe a big part of this is being part of the CDTM program…
If you're building anything that involves AI, then you have to know about the bitter lesson. The bitter lesson is an article by Rich Sutton from March 13, 2019. This sounds like ancient AI lore but is only six years old. Rich Sutton, a pioneer of reinforcement learning and a Turing Award winner, wrote a short essay…
some of the first things that i want to read now, before i really start reading a book, is the "about the author" section and i've noticed that it is usually like - birth year - birth place - current place of residence and it's like: why? why is this the info they choose to share? and when talking about artists of any…
burada yazılan konular belkide çok özel çok kişisel, kimin neyi ne zaman okduğu vb belli değil. sosyal bir deney gibi, yani yayınlaya bastığım anda her şey yayında olacak. böyle yani. bu mu?
What’s the point? To struggle the unknown To suffer uncertainty What’s the point? To believe in a bright future While living in the dark present What’s the point? To have people who care Who only offer sympathetic stares What’s the point? To lose a bit of you everyday Trying to build a fuller you for tomorrow What’s…
I like how Nicheless just has this whole, "I am a blank page and I dare you to write something on me," vibe to it.
You enter the cage alone. Whatever happens within, you and only you are responsible. Athletes do have teams and coaches. But when the door closes you are alone. Your team can shout instructions, but you are the only one at war. You need to enter the fire alone. To be a combat athlete, you need to mentally strong.…
To think positively Making the best out of any situation Think even you think about leaving a job E would probably be rational - get better job and income before thinking of actually having no income To think of so many things - and telling people that why do you want to get a job you hate after getting all that…
Writing is hard. It's hard because it requires some level of advanced thought. That doesn't mean you need to be a genius. But instead, you need to roughly conceptualize what you'll write before it lands on the page. This post is about a bit of writers block. I'm experiencing it not due to a lack of writing topics. I'm…
i realize i've attributed the idea of nostalgia to a negative form of idyllic memory. like the only difference between memory and nostalgia is that wistful and picturesque filter we view our own memories through. i didn't think it was possible to look back on unhappy times through the lens of nostalgia without…
A classic blocker is the idea of your siblings reading what you wrote (i.e. that thing you thought in a certain circumstance): that is pure deep terror.
There are no holy ideas in Academia. We should always strive to get better, always. I believe in the ideas of improving the human condition with the help of rationalism and science. Understanding the world and finding approximations of the truth that serve as practical solutions to the problems of our time, is the age…
I talk a lot about journaling the positives in life. Gratitude Wins Happiness It's all-around good stuff. You will find it all in my journal. Do you know what else you will find in my journal? The negative. A journaling habit is for the negative in your life, too. I’ve learned to use my journal to remove the negative…
Trick or treat Smell my feet Oh my god I’m so sorry I’ll go wash them right now
It’s been several years since I made the decision to bid farewell to my excess body fat. My journey towards a more active lifestyle began during those days. Prior to that, the thought of being physically active didn’t interest me much. Simply walking to the subway or bus station and occasionally taking a taxi…
Getting home from work and being in a kitchen all day it makes you realize how much more you want that dream to work. Cooking it’s cool it’s fun and creative but to be doing all day? Not that cool. . . Need to hyper focus more on the dream/goal
Don’t forget your party favor! Thanks for coming to my birthday party yesterday. I'm glad you could make it. I've learned a lot in 65 years. I started writing so I could share it with you. You might have to spend some money on my gift to you yesterday. Today's party favor is also a list of life lessons, but these only…
It seems like someone disagrees with the previous poster: === anon2080 Don't let the naysayers fool you. The Art Symposium was a success and will benefit all artists in the region. The government's role is not to dictate what kind of art should be produced or consumed but to provide the resources and support that…
Endlessly offering my shoulder for you to lean and cry on, but you always reject it. Endlessly prioritizing you, instead you chose to ignore me. Endlessly understanding you, but you chose to see me as an inconvenience. Endlessly giving you my love, even if I don't get anything in return.
Encontrei com a minha irmã no último domingo.
I went without a phone for almost two weeks. the first day was absolutely terrifying. granted I was in an unfamiliar place, staying alone, and unable to give proper notice that I'd be unreachable. but as I rode home today with a new iphone box, typically one of my favorite activities, I felt a twinge of sadness. there…
When you're younger, you are encouraged to be ambitious. As the years fly by, you learn the important of accepting. Of late, I've found myself in a tricky spot - figuring out the right balance of ambition and acceptance. I would consider myself an ambitious person. There's a lot I think I can achieve and when I look…
Digitalization has become an epoch: a legend of our time, promising leverage, access, and a cure for systemic inequities. Policymakers and companies alike present it as a universal solution: once technology is introduced, progress will follow. And in many cases, it has; making industries more efficient, records more…
There is something strangely tender about being alive at the same time as everything else. About breathing while cities hum, seasons turn, people fall in and out of love, and the world continues without asking how you’re doing. We spend so much time believing we should have arrived somewhere by now. As though there is…
One of the biggest news right now is the deepest image of the universe pictured by NASA through the newly developed James Webb Space Telescope. The picture shows hundreds of galaxies which could not earlier be captured by Hubble, NASA’s old telescope which has been replaced by the Webb. NASA’s website says that…
I love doing team sports, there is this feeling of belonging and collaboration that is just in a way refreshing. Going to the gym is nice sometimes, cause you learn discipline and resistance, but having people that are accountable pushes me to be better and go further from my limit. Both have its own benefits, but…
Working in IT as a software and solution architect I spend all day making rational decision or writing rational papers or reports for others to make decisions upon. I look for holes others have missed in plans or decision with the overall goal of shaping the best future for the company. In most cases the best/most…
You don’t need computer animation to experience morphing. You know what I'm talking about when a human gradually turns into an animal or an alien. One of the cool features of watching sci/fi or fantasy on film is watching the morphing. I watched my daily writing habit morph over the past eighteen months. Ok, my…
Look at our movies, they are full of blood and violence. Look at the combat sports we enjoy, the crowd goes berserk when there's blood or if someone gets knocked out. These serve as an outlet for our suppressed violent selves. I think this ties back with the way humans became apex predators, our ancestors were…
This is the deal. There are no "one size fits all" solutions in reality. You can see this out there in different realms. Be it the product creation, the medical, online course, financial and so on. It's like that meme of the different characters along the bell curve. Which also relates quite well with the graph of…
Neither compliments. Head-ons. Incoming jokes. Anything that is sudden and unexpected... Take it slow. No uhhs no umms. Silence and think Can make you be so much more attractive Stop writing and start living more because honestly - after you "dumped" your thoughts like how you dump Fukushima waters You won't be going…
Recently, the Indian Supreme Court deferred the decision on mandating a policy for menstrual leaves for women to the Central Government. This raises a critical question: At the current stage of India's growth journey, what's more important? 1. Bringing more women into the workforce? 2. Ensuring the best workplace…
