the wind is howling and i am sitting inside the boat, cozy and warm and drinking peach tea and listening to this monk talk about non-duality thinking and he said
"the mind is a clear blue sky"
and i don't know what it means! but i like the way it sounds
as i stare at him i became aware of a brand new concept: that maybe the invention of buddhism was about inventing a new type of human
the buddha we know -- though he is one of many and not the first -- created the Idea of the Buddha before actually becoming The Buddha
put it simply he said to himself: "wouldn't it be nice to not give a shit? about anything? to be eternally peaceful and joyful without being a lil bitch to outside circumstances?"
and he willed himself to become such a creature
if i could be anyone, i would want to be...
eternally joyous and creative and imaginative and willing to believe and always like :o and very sincere and genuine and extremely lucky. and always having fun. even in a "spooky" situation.
did someone already invent this? is this called "manic pixie dream girl"? or "david foster wallace"?
