Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Do Not Hand Wave over Important Topics The gift of written communication outside of Twitter and Nicheless is that the word count is generally boundless. We can dive into any point and pull our selves back out to any level of abstraction that we want to. When and where to dive into writing is art, not science. But such…
Perspectives are so important.. You can be whatever you are if you put yourself to it Really there’s a “better” way to do it than you did - and you’re getting there; Calling off MC Telling people no Striking conversations Putting yourself into uncomfortable situations And growth. However there some thing you can do.…
(original: 2010 November 8, excerpt) f|back: when my friend oracle speaks ... ... or [when my friend "oracle"] types ... when i chat with my friend, i enjoy the intellectual banter that ensues. my friend earned the nickname from "the oracle of delphi" - he shared a series of different answers to his daughter's…
So many excuses to not create. I need to take a leap of faith. Pounce onto the challenge with hunger. To act with conviction, not just ponder.
Recently, I faced a challenge with relapse, and it was difficult to cope with the urges triggered by external factors. However, I managed to let go of the temptation and move forward. It was a tough day, but I found relief in staying strong. Although I regretted the relapse, the experience offered me a moment of…
Hoje eu vou escrever dois textos pq me atrasei no dia 9.
Social media in its various forms have brought about a huge change in our economy. The first thing we check when we get up is our phone. It's about time we realise that the content we see on social media sets the day for us. And one easy way to hack our mood for the day is to audit the content we see on social media.…
When I first went online, it was with the honest intention of job searching and I did look for work. In fact, the Internet would become a source of income many years later but not before I fell down the rabbit hole of Facebook. Ensue pointless fights and frequent depression but as we move out of a seismic culture…
it was a running joke among my friends growing up that I'd come over just to be able to take a nap because that wasn't allowed at home. it wasn't all that serious, of course, but I was incredibly fortunate to have both of my parents home, all day, every day for my entire life - which meant that I wasn't often truly…
We like to think of ourselves as rational decision-makers who are persuaded to accept arguments and ideas on the basis of logical merit. This is laughably divergent from how things really work. The idea itself that humans are rational decision-makers has no basis in empirical observation; it is just some wishful…
I never believed in those who ran "writing courses" or anyone who gave me a framework for writing. There is only one way to write and that is to sit at the typewriter and bleed. There have been so many days when I had to bang my head just to put a few sentences together. You can feel the words and almost form them but…
Really hoping this is the last restaurant I ever work at and end my cooking career with a bang and make something cool happen while working at this place. Been 3 months since I've started and it's been a pleasure so far.
You might be able to sum up the dharma with “comparison is the thief of joy”. Just expand the comparison to not be versus other people, but versus anything and everything. Your food fell on the floor, and it’s made you sad? Now you’re comparing having the candy versus not having the candy. Let go of it. You stubbed…
I'm kind of tired seeing people sharing unsolicited advice about growth, productivity, finance - all of these things that supposedly make you successful. My definition of "success" is so different from those in my surroundings now, but... it feels so strange to leave so fast when this is all I've known, too. But I…
According to Mr. C It’s okay to not know because you’re new He looks at you for your capability; potential IQ is the same It’s just that new people might not know and will be all over the place in the beginning Never throw the task to seniors Take up the responsibility and actually do it as well You could’ve been…
Learnt smtg from Bryan - age really don’t matter What matters is the level of thinking and what do you think Your way of dealing with people The worst and dumb people is not working and worry this and that Meanwhile the most cleverest is just live in the moment and work the best In no matter what situation He’ll be…
If you've read my last post, you know that I've been obsessed with Kanye for the past few weeks. It's pretty much the only thing I listen to and have been greatly inspired by his album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. But yesterday, when I was re-listening to MBDTF for the nth time, I enjoyed it way more than the…
I always thought that I was flexible, could adapt well, and thrive in the newest of environments. But with the speed at which the entire digital landscape around us is changing, I'm not so confident anymore. Having always tied my worth to my productivity, what if I'm not relevant anymore? Another thing that worries me…
- a way to receive money - a portfolio (Zapper) - your identity (ENS) - an access key (to discords and events) - a treasury account (for DAOs) - an investment club (by Syndicate) - your reputation (6529) - your verifiable track record (trading history) - an art collection (with NFTs) - an email/chat account (via…
Send a message. Call them. Talk to them. The fury of youth will subside but loneliness will remain. Don’t let ego get in the way. Life gets in the way and they probably don’t have time. Reach out. If they don’t reciprocate, you at least know you gave your best.
A student made a comment in class about "planting the bomb." His teacher asked what he meant, to which he responded by making fart noises. The teacher reported him to admin, admin called the police, and the police hauled the boy off and detained him for making a bomb threat at school. This is a real story from a…
I have never been a ferocious writer. There are many things I want to write but I feel somehow good vocabulary and ability to express myself in as simple and few a words has always eluded me. However, in this post, my goal is to just write. There may not be a specific topic or goal that I write about. Just some random…
When people talk about migrants’ rights, they're not typically talking about people like me, nor should they be. I'm extraordinarily lucky in life. But it seems the sorts of surmountable, administrative issues I face stack up into a major sense of otherness, an elseness, wherever one goes. People like to believe that…
These last 600 days have been the most toughest period of my entire life. I have cried my eyes out, felt miserable, sat like furniture for days on end & contemplated committing suicide. This all happened around my folks at home, never did they ever came up to me ask : what is brewing ? how am I feeling ? how can they…
It sometimes baffles me just how much a walk or hike in nature can boost my mental capacities. Being at home or work surrounded by books, notes and brilliant people just never get the cogs turning like the sound of birds chirping, water flowing and life happening at it's own pace. So, there I was in my local forest…
Going out with friends that have the same hobbies as you is just another level, today we went to the museum because we had a sketching assignment. It felt so cute that we were all walking with our sketch pads and pencils and sitting on the floors of the museum to appreciate artworks. I'm actually studying what I love…
We hadn't formally launched Trilegal yet when my friend Vinay, who was with a law firm in London, called. It was early March 2000. Him: "Have you guys opened for business yet?" Me: "Why do you ask?" Him: "Because I have a deal for you." Me, struggling to hide excitement: "Well yes, then we're open." This was a…
Play the cards you are dealt with! All my life, I have constantly compared myself to others and then made a decision. It's after a long period of time that I have developed an understanding that no one will ever have the same experiences the way you do. If you wish you were Ambani's son/daughter today and presented…
I enjoyed a tweet from Delian Asparouhov about the ongoing drama between FTX and Binance. The tweet talks about VC excitement surrounding FTX and founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) when he met with Sequoia Capital. Here's the link: https://twitter.com/zebulgar/status/1590394857474109441?s=20&t=eFRg8VydDM9617or9zTQ There…
I wasn't receiving any emails for days. I had been too busy to really question why, even though I was expecting responses from various outreaches. The issue became clear when I needed a verification code for a signup and it didn't come through. I sent myself a test email - nothing. Total panic set in thinking about…
This morning I went on a walk, the first walk of hopefully many. I've always used my own two legs as main mode of transportation. Whenever I would read about walking as part of one's practice, I would think something like: 'I don't need that, I already walk everywhere!' But yesterday it hit me: I walk, I move my legs,…
Live every moment bits of it Do not miss Not through the phone Live through everything Be young & fun & experiencing Do what you want to do by actually doing not “avoiding” on phone Be fun - AND ENERGETIC! Only difference between the young soul and the old soul is the energy levels
Push for more! There’s always something else to study/that you didn’t know Action Action will lead to more things in the future Act first align yourself to that actions Do with a goal study is for you to be more ready be more powerful save time to study but when you study you need to study well Focus will let you…
During a conversation today I had a bit of difficulty describing what it means to express oneself. After several false starts that kept falling back on circular definitions, eventually we arrived at something that seemed to fit: doing something that makes one feel alive. On the face of it, it seems rather silly to…
Why bother so much about not making a mistake - like KS. The point of this life is to make as many as possible. The way of saying “what’s the point of playing Sudoku if you don’t even bother getting it right or wrong” - is actually not the essence of life. The point of life is to make as many mistakes as possible -…
In my personal experience, (and according to some self-help gurus) the blank canvas is very intimidating. It happens when you start on anything new- every letter you type, every stroke of the brush seems to violently destroy the beauty of the blankness, the nothingness. To be worthy of taking up space, the very first…
I'm currently visiting my grandparents in the Franconian countryside. Here, everything moves slower, costs less, and feels more personal and comforting. The scenic views and quiet pace remind me of a simpler, more orderly life. As I sit on my grandparents' balcony, overlooking the village and the fields beyond, I'm…
Lately, the past two weeks, I have been trying to figure out or trying to answer the question "Who am I?". It has been a couple of rough months for me, given a recent unemployment, but, I now have time to slow down, think, and prioritise what are the most important things to me. What I want of my life? What I value?…
It's the decisions that you made right? No matter consciously or subconsciouly - you put the water in the kettle for it to boil. You get back to your workstation and continue to work while waiting for the water to boil. Once the water is boiled: - You travel to the kettle and took the kettle and get back to your…
I believe in the power of swiping. I believe it is a song continually singing left or flipping right, delighting in the minor and major of it all and the fall of the green and the birth of the ice and the magnificent way we all stop to think twice about our lives, our dreams, our reams of baroque reasoning our ways…
I recognise that im not the most burdened human in the entirety of the world. I understand that people have suffered through wars, famine, and several other atrocities, far more macabre than i could even think of, and yet they somehow find the will to live. And then theres me, sad. I still see no point in living.…
Happy new year, everyone! I'm looking forward to 2023. Many possibilities are already showing their faces!
(original: 12 February 2006) and back east? ... there's a nor'easter & it's nutty. why people love SD's weather! ... it's the middle of february, FCOL! this is what the SD bay looked like across the street from solar turbines. my worries for today? sunscreen, hydration, air conditioning, and focus. yup! focus is hard…
I lay on the mat staring up at the kaleidoscopic reflections on the ceiling. I pictured the next thing I could do at that moment. I pictured an event that could follow that, and another to follow that, and I whizzed around and around until I caught myself, and I realized I was Telescoping. In the next few moments, I…
What do you when you are feeling bad? Does the whole day need to be bad? Think of things that make you happy. Do a favorite activity. Help someone. Go outside. These are great solutions. They all came from the participants in a Tae Kwon Do class. I was proud that the first solution came from my five-year-old…
