Who am I?
Lately, the past two weeks, I have been trying to figure out or trying to answer the question "Who am I?".
It has been a couple of rough months for me, given a recent unemployment, but, I now have time to slow down, think, and prioritise what are the most important things to me.
What I want of my life?
What I value?
What are my priorities?
It is weird how much of ourselves we identify with the work that we do. The work/job we have comes so quickly into our conversations that we forget who we truly are. It is true that work takes a big chunk of our lifetime, and from that part of our identity is associated with the job.
I am trying to de-construct this view in my head and actually wonder what would be like if we prioritise what is the most important for us. Friends, family, going to the movies or simply being quiet.
It is easier said than done, for sure.
I am still struggling to see my self as an adventurous, funny, not too serious, athlete, loving person that I am without my job.
It is work in progress.
