Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
Species, amongst other things, are defined by their niche. The environment they interact with defines the trajectory of their evolution. You notice a tradeoff between specialization and flexible adaptability. Typically, to dominate a particular niche, a species must specialize. The Environment Confines and Refines.…
when you transfer money from one account to another account, in the memo/notes section write a self-affirmation i wrote: "i am full of love" next time i could say something like: "i have everything i need to be peak happy" which is true i do have everything i need all i need is my imagination and fresh air and…
i have had quite an interest in exploring what it means to build and inhabit more “homey” and inviting digital spaces. oftentimes i've had hangups about the polished and performative pressures that i experience on social media apps. feeling the need to tweet or post the perfect thing to represent myself. very often,…
Entrei no dry january obrigada. Falando em remédio, os…
Tomorrow the New York marathon of 2022 is on. Me and my wife are joining 50 000 other runners in NYC in the starting line. Everywhere you look tonight you’ll find runners preparing for tomorrow. Did I get the right energy? Have I prepared my breakfast right? How much time do I need for my morning routine to make it to…
Every some years, a band comes from left field and knocks your socks off. You have no expectation of them, maybe you'd never heard of them before. Leaving aside the bands of my early growing up years, bands or artists that have had that effect on me have included The Talking Heads, The Stone Roses, Nick Cave and the…
I’ve started making memes with pictures of my cat. One is of me kissing him with the words “to hold thee lightly on a gentle knee, and print on thy soft cheek a parent’s kiss” flanking the picture, and a little slanted note of “my little Lolita” where his collar would be. Perhaps it is my unrequited pleasures in…
During a conversation today I had a bit of difficulty describing what it means to express oneself. After several false starts that kept falling back on circular definitions, eventually we arrived at something that seemed to fit: doing something that makes one feel alive. On the face of it, it seems rather silly to…
I'm no more on a streak. Couldn't write yesterday. Nevertheless, the 30-essay series still continues. Today I am writing about productivity - a topic that is beaten to death a million times, every day, day after day. Well, this one is a different. I'm not selling a "I-know-it-all-shoving-it-down-your-throat"…
It's getting easier and easier to produce mediocre information. Anyone can remix anyone's ideas and churn out garbage at a disturbing rate. The only question on peoples minds anymore is 'why should I care'? The price of entry is genuine human experience. You need a story about an actual, real-world experience that…
No better feeling than new tools day. Find a spot for it to live, maybe do the job you bought it for, then put it away to rest, making sure not to disturb it too much. No. Use your tools. Tools are mean to be used. If you don't use them, you deprive them of their purpose in life. Use your iPhone, get it sandy. Use…
In German, a "Menschenfänger" - in a positive sense - refers to someone with a remarkable ability to inspire, unite, and motivate people. Today, I had the pleasure of being visited by one. I was left impressed and energized. Being around a Menschenfänger reminds me of the powerful positive impact one individual can…
Skyggene gjør seg alltid større enn de er. Mørket tåler nesten ingenting. Det går i stykker av litt lys.
To quote John Biggs: "Ok now what." Seriously though, I like this vast empty space with just a black text thing. Good stuff.
Human thought is shaped not just by what we consciously know but by the invisible assumptions embedded in our culture, education, and social norms. These frameworks operate like mental software—unquestioned yet profoundly influential. Gregory Bateson, in That Every Schoolboy Knows, urges us to interrogate these…
Watching the debate on whether we ought not to trust mainstream media between Matt Taibbi and Douglas Murray for the motion, and Michelle Goldberg and Malcolm Gladwell against, I was struck by the ineptitude of the arguments put forth by the team against, particularly by Gladwell. On multiple occasions he insinuated…
Is to be upfront and integrity This is the shield against all immoral and dishonourable G knows you been paying for most It’s ok to reject him once if it’s too much Stay honest and thinking things through The only way to get through and stand strong When having questions - just ask Big decisions; take a night to think…
Is a mix of competency and warmth. Find the balance - you can’t be too friendly but don’t know anything at the same time. To have charisma you need competent And you need to radiate out with the right amount of body & language works (way of converse, thoughts, vocabs - language is the best way to exhibit & market…
Had such an amazing and cathartic session with Omar. 1. We looked back at and appreciated the journey I've been on this year. 2. He gave me the external validation I needed - what I felt was real. My pain was real. What I went through was indeed emotional abuse. Omar said that abusive people need to do a lot of work…
I went for a head, neck and shoulder massage a few days ago. It was 45 minutes long. 45 minutes of freedom from a constant barrage of digital notifications. 45 minutes of letting my mind marinate in whatever it wanted to. 45 minutes of not staring at my phone or my computer. 45 minutes of a stress free existence. 45…
looks so much like my cousin that i'm not allowed to have a crush on him but old keanu reeves...
We allow phones at our dinner table. I know that’s counterintuitive coming from someone who 14 years ago, declared, ”When we are empty-nesters, we'll still have dinner table conversation.” At the time, I wasn’t worried about phones. It was magazines. Now a phone comes out almost every evening at our dinner table, for…
A cozinha…
It's the fourth quarter of 2023, and I chose to replenish my 6-month undated Roterunner planner - https://roterunner.com/products/purpose-planner - partly out of convenience, partly out of utility. Meanwhile, here's a list of planners which folks have shared -…
if you start the day with a painkiller, you set yourself up for success i thought i'd preemptively dodge any period cramps today by starting off the morning with a beautiful little glowing blue pill and i am feeling just ok just normal so imagine how i'd feel without it! and i used to resist taking pain killers…
Our attitude acts as a powerful lens, transforming how we perceive and experience the world around us. The same task or situation can feel like a burden or an opportunity, a challenge or a chance for growth, all depending on the mindset we bring to it.
Do not have a backup plan Try things more radical Drop out or do something that is more extreme You’ll perform better Just trust your ability of your brain You’ll be surprised where that would take you And I think you found it by being an archi coordinator in K You did achieve amazing things by trusting yourself Don’t…
We are all conditioned to have only one thing in our lives. /one school /one career /one home /the one But lately I have been testing the idea of living in two places. I love living on an island off of the snow-capped mountainous, seaport city of Seattle. I am lucky and could not ask for more. Except for another…
today i did yoga whilst fantasizing about being "LA rich" being "LA rich", I would do yoga outside, absorbing heat from the sun like a reptile do yoga inside, cozy-style lounge about, read go on "reading vacations" at bed & breakfasts in Big Sur eat salads, drink wheatgrass shots drive around in a sexy stylish…

Last year, I worked on a little project to figure out what we needed to do as a society to prevent us from making our planet unliveable. I took an inevitable deep dive into the climate crisis only to realise that fossil fuel consumption and the resulting runaway warming of our planet is a mere symptom. That trying to…
Just like your cleansing schedule - it’ll take hours to do. However if you have the “do-it” mentality: you’ll reach there no matter what, you’ll get better once you start to do it everyday Just get started first Always have an end goal in mind. Then set a timeline First principles Like why you wanted to do it You have…
We must spend and manage these well in order to achieve our best experience of life. Time is the toughest as once we spend it we cannot get it back, so we must cautious in how we spend it. This is a difficult thing to do though, as we human beings love love. We love being loved and we love showing love, and one of the…
It’s because everyone has their own set of mind And most times high level individual are usually very self aware - You gotta be stronger and more attractive The way you do things etc Don’t 后知后觉 when you think of something think it to the end. Whatever you do Of course it’s better to JUST DO Though you could’ve done…
Listen to more podcast. W.o.w just Be more accepting. The charismatic people are usually competent - but doesn’t necessarily means JUST smart. It means knowing the stuff but knowing how to convey as well. It’s good to have the ability to stop 🛑 1. 2. 3. But within these 3 seconds you’re actually buying time to…
There is an attraction in Disneyworld´s Magic Kingdom very few people take any time to visit. It´s called the Swiss Family Treehouse, a steel and concrete-tree based on a 1960´s film, The Swiss Family Robinson. In the film, a Swiss family ends up stranded on a desert island after their ship is attacked by pirates and…
[since pretty much no one would be able to find this link unless they saw my goodreads account, i've decided to put a lot of my book-focused ideas here] some readers are also writers, but sometimes people are just purely readers. i'm watching tokyochemist on youtube compare virginia woolf and ottessa moshfegh and she…
Most of us have hobbies or interests that are a part of, or define who we are. Some make a career out of it, going in deep and letting their curiosity lead them wherever it goes. Others just like being able to relax, doing what they enjoy. But there are some who are interested in a multitude of things, so many objects…
You can know everything there is to know about a subject, but without credibility, no one will listen to what you have to say. Understanding that credibility in most fields is demonstrated through group affiliations, not IQ points, can help you present the truth in the best light, without fabricating it. In the 4-Hour…
It snowed today. During the school year, snow means the possibility of a snow day or at least a late start. Snow falls so softly, blanketing the ground in silence. My desire to stay inside to enjoy the scenery from the shelter of a warm home is strong. If I were many years younger I would want to run out to be the…
tradition, convention, protocol; these are tools to control and manipulate groups of people. rules are meant to enforce behaviour that is largely not natural. you basically momentarily pretend that you care, but mostly you don't. it's liberating to be able to live without having to pretend. you pretend to comply,…
We recently started to teach my daughter to read after she started writing letters and asking about how certain words are spelled. My son has taken to math like his father and is quite the human computer. I ordered some books for them and my wife and I have begun teaching them to read and do higher order math outside…
Creating positive experiences to share with others is easy. Consider your smile. Everyone wants to experience something that puts a smile on their face. You control your own smile. You can also make others smile. It’s easier than you think. Make a list of what makes you smile. Here are a few things that make me smile.…
Meu amor deu…
made coffee at 2am again not because i needed energy just wanted to feel like the main character for five minutes
When we think of the word "slavery," defined as a system of relations in which individuals are compelled to perform labor, it is reasonable to define the inverse as the absence of compulsion. The word most associated with such a situation is "freedom." Closely related but with a more political connotation is the word…
Earlier this month, I wanted to fix something that's been bugging me for the longest time. On my personal blog, dates would show up to the left of post names. When I first set this up, with a kind of obtuse styling, I got the dates to line up in one "column" on the left, and then the post names to all start from the…
Jack in Titanic Doesn’t care how rich Rose is Every phase of Jack’s life there is a best version to live the life There’s no point worrying and feeling self abasement for yourself Work towards it & there’s a way to live out of poverty Feeling bad is just the easy way It doesn’t mean you stop being someone caring…
